        WOW sarah! I was just looking at the pix you posted a month ago and you have majorly whooshed since your Jan pose in your bikini! You are literally running your butt off! WOW!!!!!

          Wowwwwww Sarah......You rock girl. Everytime I see your pictures I'm floored by the progress!!!!

          I am starting with dumb bells right now (I love the bow flex ones....but yikes what a hefty price tag) so I bought some cheapies for now (40 lbs.) and have been using them. Are they ok to start with or should I jump in deeper. I'm going away in march and was going to buy a bow flex (not the dumb bells) when I come back. I am VERY new to this but I soooo want to learn ......are there any video's that might help me (I'm not good with books so video's would be best) and what do you suggest for weights.....free weights or the bow flex. I don't go to a gym and don't think I ever will (just not my scene) so everything is done at home and I want to get the most bang for my buck so to speak as far as what I use. any tips would so be appreciated.

          I'm also very excited because I started to jog. Ok......well only able to go 2 minutes at a time @ 5.5-5.9 then walking for 2 minutes. I decided to bring speed down to 5.0 incline to 1 and I'm able to go 5 minutes at a time now.......with 2 minutes of walking in between. slow jogging......but for a person who smoked two packs a day and wasn't able to walk a block this is feeling Great! I will try and up the length of time each week then go on to increase the speed.

              Chrissy that is soooo Great when I started running all I could Muster was 2 minute Bursts, your Best bet for a good running Program would be this Websight www.coolrunning.com it has a couch to 5k program to get you started and it's a really great Beginner Program slowly building up distance.

              As for the Bowflex I think that it's a great Idea to have one. I have a Universal the Bowflex is much the same Using Rods as resistance it's not as hard as lifting True Dumbell weight or True Bar weight but, it will give you a great workout and for Beginners it's really good to use that type of thing as there is only one way to lift so you can't lift cockeyed and hurt yourself like with Dumbells or Bar. You need good control and Form for those.

              Now you have a set of Dumbells or do you have Adjustable ones, do they go up in 5lbs inciments. 40 LBS is a great Place to Start I ahve Click weights I bought at Superstore for 50 Dollars best investment I ever made I love them and they change out really Quick.

              WHat other Stuff do you Have Chrissey if you don't have a Bench I would Suggest you get yourself a Ball it's a wonderful tool to have when you are doing say over head tricep extensions and also for dumbell chest Press and chest flies and it's CHEAP YAY Cheap.

              I do all my workouts at home I do not go to the gym at all so what you see I did it all on my own at home without the help of anyone but me, so you can do the same. If you want to Build the definition like I have I lift heavy weights I don't peeter around with light weight and 200 reps It never does what I want it to do and the goal is to lose Body fat and rescult your Body. (WOMEN Do Not get Bulky and huge they are not made to build like that so a common myth women often hear is you lift heavy you get huge un true. if you take testosteron and steroids then you may build up more like a man but women are not genetically made to get huge, you can lift heavy bukild some muscle and lose inches.)

              N
              ow basically to start since you are new I would basically Familiarize myself with exercises for this you DO NOT whant to go to heavy you want to do the Basic moves and know that you can do them without shifting body weight or swinging BIG NO NO. I would do 2 sets of 12 reps for each Body Part doing upper Body one day then cardio the next then Lower Body Just to start you as you advance we can adjust and split your Body parts.

              Now I do not Know how familliar you are with Exercises But in the book store there are some really Great Books on Bodybuilding you can get the Books and see how to do them also I will give you this link http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/animations.asp it shows a variety of exercises in animation and How to do them. Put the Drop down for each Body part of the Upper Body. Chest,Triceps,Back,Biceps,Shoulders and Pick one exercise for each that you feel you could comfortably complete.

              Ok once you do that do not try to go heavy the first few times the first few times are to get you familliar then I will help you figure out your Maz rep range the weight you can only push 1 time then drop the weight down 2 you should be able to barely do 6 reps that's what ya want for your Max rep.

              OK I am sure this is enough info for today I have Probably filled your head so if you ahve any more Questions I will help as much as possible.

                Hey Rikki- waving!!!!!

                Wooo Hooo Sarah you just made my day/week with all this info. (VERY helpful) love that coolrunning site ........thank-you, I am poking around on it now and that couch to 5k is awesome for someone like me.

                I have the cheapy dumbell weights from walmart......under 30 bucks, the ones that you have to change out the weight. I wanted those click weights (the only ones I seen were the bowflex ones.which were crazy expensive.) I didnt know they made them and sold them for a cheaper price.......I'll look for those this weekend.

                I do have a resistence ball (and have been learning to use it and feel like I'm ripping my stomach appart with the crunches) but I never thought of using it while using the weights.....great idea. I will def. look at the bodyforlife site and others to learn more about the different exercises so that I will make sure I have the right form. I have a treadmill and a gazelle and try to exercise every single day.

                I'm so excited to get started but have to wait til I come back from vegas in march to get the bow flex......so I'm gonna take time to watch you (read old posts, menus, and exercise) and try and gather as much info. as I can and keep plugging along with what I have so far. Yes I want weight loss as well as to resculpt my body, and i'm willing to work for it. Again Sarah thank-you so much it you have no idea how much I appreciate the info.

                                I take the 50+ mutivit for people over 50 (i"m not over 50 but, they ahve what I want in them and have more of it)
                                1 Mineral Complex
                                2 Chromium Picolinate
                                2 Quercitine
                                2 Grapeseed Oil
                                3 Garlic Oil
                                1 B50 complex
                                2 calcium 500 tabs

                                When you get them Just read the ingredience be sure they don't have any starches, yeast, sugar or fillers, as this can stall you
