  • Time for a "Kick It Up a Notch" Challenge?

I know a few of us (myself included) here in the CClub have either slipped, goofed, or neglected lately, and I'm wondering if maybe it's time for a KICK IT UP A NOTCH challenge??

The object of the challenge is to CLEARLY STATE what you're doing wrong or what you're neglecting to do or what you could do better -- and then really focus on improving that personal area and reporting in on how you're doing and if it makes a difference, mentally, physically, weight-wise, inches-wise, etc.

For example, the area I need to improve in most is:

I need to measure my foods and keep track of carbs on fitday.

No reporting of weight or inches needed. Just a post every few days on whether you've been successful in "Kicking it up a notch"... If you don't post, I'll hunt you down :nod and ask you to post! The only thing that will count is honesty!

    Anyone interested?

I need this too, even more so now that my DH is changing his WOE.

I need to stay away from caffeinated drinks and monitor my carbs more carefully.

[/i]Need to be a better role model because DH won't read the book.[/i]

This would be great for me...

I need to stop snitching from my kids! I need to stop with the diet colas, and I need to stay away from the frankenfoods!

I have just been realizing that these are all terrible backsliding behaviors, and your promise to hunt me down will keep me honest and supported!

        Hey Joan...good idea!

I will more diligent in measuring my low carb consumption in the evenings, and I will add abdominal work to my exercise routine.

No more hiding for me...detective Joan is on the case! Thanks Joan.

I need to enter my food into fitday EVERYDAY. Make sure I am getting at least 150oz of water daily, and stop with the diet rites.

I need to drink my water.
I need to keep my food journal.
            I need to exercise.

            Thanks Joan.

Eight of us so far. Here's what I've got:

Kick it Up a Notch Challenge - Started 08/12/04

JoanOH - Measure foods, record in Fitday
Jackie Blue - Monitor carbs, stay away from caffeine
Sillyann - No frankenfoods, no diet colas, no snitching kids' foods
Doitnow - monitor PM carbs, add ab exercises
AmyTheobald - Record on Fitday, stop Diet Rites, more water
Shufflebutt - Drink water, keep food journal, exercise
Tamariah - clean induction - no ice cream
lostandfound - fitday, water, monitor carbs

                  You're committed now!!!

You can report in here daily or every 2-3 days, but let's do a maximum of 3 days between reports.

I got my eye on you!!! :yikes

Oh, and so YOU can keep your eye on ME -- here's my fitday journal address!!! You get to yell at me if I'm not keeping up with it. (And pay no attention to previous days -- I've used it to figure out recipes, or figure out DH's carbs or figure out things for posts here... everything BUT what it should be used for!! LOL)

Here we go -- we're going to KICK IT UP A NOTCH!!!!

I need to eat all day long, instead of going for hours w/o food and then pigging out after work.

I need to record what I eat every day instead of trusting my memory and then screwing up because I'm almost 40 and my short-term memory is going, going, gone . . .

I need to stick to this WOE all week long with no backsliding on the weekends just because DH and kids are eating ice cream and junk food. I'm in charge of my own eating, not them.

YAY Tamariah!!! Now, doesn't that feel better!!!! Strength feels so much better than weakness!!!

                              Keep it up!!!

Anyone else have good things to report???

I've been doing my fitday and measuring my foods. AND I decided to bite the bullet (low carb, of course) and get off the Sweet n'Low - I was using WAY too many in my decaf coffee, and not counting the carbs -- so if I had 5 cups of coffee a day? That was 10 carbs that were getting counted as 3!! YIKES! So back to 2 cups of coffee, both without the artificial sweetener. I can do this. No excuses!!
