                Re: Induction: May 1st - 14th

Rikki - I know... bad Pilates... lol. Are you in the Las Vegas Hair Show? That sounds like fun! Thanks for the reminder about water. I need to go and drink some!

Susan - I just got a chance to read up on your weekend watching the Volvo racers from the peak of Bay Ridge. Of course, the best part was the Bolivian racer that you just kinda threw in... . It sounded like you had a lot of fun plus great low carb food and exercise (all the walking), it must have felt great to wake up to the 199 after that!

OK dr. says no more Pilates for right now. No exercise for one week

                  Hello Ladies!

These 2 weeks are just flying by! I must say I kinda shocked myself. I just knew I was going to feel miserable. I really would like to amp up my exercise though...because I know that really helps me.

Hopefuly, I get accepted in the Bootcamp that starts on Monday. I sent in my application on Monday and still haven't heard anything yet...kinda worried and anxious at the same time!

Ever since yesterday I have been feeling awful...I think I am trying to come down with a cold. I have been taking Benadryl Cold hoepfully that will help..one thing I forgot to check was the carb count on it.

                    Re: Induction: May 1st - 14th

                    Mornin' all!
Narone - Benadryl cold most likely has 0 carbs., though if it is "non-drowsy" it may have caffeine.

Now I don't know how many people will be accepted in the 5/15/06 BootCamp but I hope all of you here who sign(ed) up will get in, me too! * chompin' at the bit *

I'm already planning a new set of induction menus at fitday; of course, they'll change a little once thigs start getting tossed in the pan or bowl. I just love experimenting with new combinations! Has anyone hear done the BC before?
I'm wondering whether there is any tolerance of induction foods in the "Grey zone", such as herbs and spices not specifically named on the DANDR list, such as bamboo shoots and cumin. I like to forage wild greens, and also use less conventional herbs from my garden in some recipes, such as ginkgo and sunchoke.

Yesterday I indulged in a larger portion of ckicken w/salt & pepper. Regretfully, I think about a gallon of water followed due to either the salt or protein load, and could not satiate my thirst! Ok today though. Having braised steak w/mushrooms in olive oil w/spices & hot peppers, with crystal light fruit punch.

Chicken parmesan & spinach for late dinner, maybe celery snack w/avocado dip before the circus this evening. Now, how can I get my son (and me) past all the @#X&*@&% they surround the tent with?!

WoW - it sure did get quiet in here.... I'm still hangin' on; hoping to do it again (BC style!)

Can anyone tell me, if you do multiple consecutive inductions with/without a day or 2 of OWL do you always lose less and less each time? Still at 199 *sigh* Here, whooshie..... H-e-r-e, whooshie!

                        Re: Induction: May 1st - 14th

Susan - hang in there. I'm trying to ask myself what to do too. I think you're doing great and you're probably on the verge of another big whoosh. My first experience on Adkins I went 3 or 4 months of strait induction. I lost 25 pounds in the first 6 weeks and then went on a 3 month stall but never cheated. Someone told me to add 5 grams to break the induction phase so I asked Adkins himself what to do and he told me to follow the program... lol so I added the first extra 5 grams and I broke the stall. I thought I was just the biggest "turtle loser" but the first 25 pounds pounds kept me motivated (plus, I lost a lot of hair from not taking vitamins and being on the induction phase too long.... so, for the sake of what little hair I had left... I had to break induction). I never really added over 34 - 40 grams during my whole losing phase, which was the whole first year.

So, I'm not sure how long you've been staying on induction, but, I know you just had a recent loss so, you've been doing great (we used to considered a stall going 4 - 6 weeks without any weight loss. You sound like you're doing good. If you're losing 1 - 2 pounds a week, that's a really good amount a weight. My experience was my weight loss picked up a little when I added the extra 5 grams but every bodies body is so different I don't know what to tell you. I just added the extra 5 grams with veggies and it helped me. So, that's my same dilemma with next week. Will I follow what adkins told me faster this time? I want to get down into the 160's again. Will I trust what he told me or not? What to do?
