  • "Squeaky Clean" Induction Challenge

I am planning to do a "Squeaky Clean" Induction on Monday, Oct. 11th. I am hoping to find at least one other person who would like to do this with me and offer/receive some support.

With this "Squeaky Clean" Induction, I will be eliminating all sweeteners (including SF syrups), cheeses and decaf coffee. Whoever is interested could choose one, or more, from these items to eliminate from your daily menues for a minimum of 2 weeks. If the results are good, I will more than likely remain on this challenge for a longer period of time.

    So, who's game?

        Let's go!

I will begin on Monday as well Chynna! I've been through this Induction before, and it worked the first time around, and I can't tell you how great it felt. However, I've fallen back into my old ways and have put on some excess weight. This has not made me feel very good as of late. Also, with the addition of my second son, I need more energy!

          Chynna,

Any more room in this challenge? I am officially off the wagon and I am running behind it as we speak to catch up. I absolutley need to do a clean induction, and it might as well be squeaky clean. I can't promise to lose the cheese, but splenda sparks cravings in me so that will have to go for the next two weeks. I am going to need all the support I can get though because I am having trouble getting back on. I have been getting some intense induction flu, and that never happened my first time :anger
This is it though, I am not going to gain back all the weight that it took all summer to lose, NO WAY!

Great! Welcome aboard, tksmooth and emma!

Emma, I can definitely relate. I've fallen off the wagon a few times. Actually, after being so good for a while again, I have fallen off the wagon again for the past few days! Also, that's OK if you don't eliminate the cheese. Just one item will do. Not everyone can manage losing all 3. I am, because of various reasons: they stall me, trigger cravings or slow my weight loss down.

Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you all at "check-in" tomorrow!

              Hi Everyone!

Today is day one of the "Sqeaky Clean" Induction Challenge. I hope everyone is as motivated as I am.

So, here's my "check-in" for today. I had 4 slices of turkey bacon and 2 boiled eggs for breakfast. However, I found out that I have a candida overgrowth and will have to eliminate more items from my menu, in the future! :sadblinky So, on top of eliminating the decaf, sweeteners and the cheese, I will have to discontinue all dairy, all fermented and all mold-containing foods! So, I will have to do more grocery shopping for some EVOO and fresh herbs! I definitely am glad that I found out about the yeast overgrowth BEFORE doing a whole 2 weeks of induction!

                Hello

I'm ready to get started today. I'm not much of a breakfast person, so I've only just started with a cup of decaf coffee this morning.
A question for anyone, what "snack" type foods does everyone eat. I know on Induction, olives have been talked about, or maybe celery with cream cheese. Any thoughts?

                Current Weight - 188
                Goal - 170

Lots of water today for everyone! I've also started by taking the Basic3 daily vitamin from Atkins. Does anyone use Chromium Picolinate as a supplement? That is suppose to work very well as a supplement also.

I'm making some homemade beef and chicken jerky. I don't really snack much, but when I do, I'd rather have some jerky or some boiled eggs.

If you are still allowing cheese in your diet, you can have some cheese and lunchmeat rolls.

You can always click at the top of this page, on the Recipes button, to get a list of recipes, including snacks.

I just started using this today. It's supposed to aid in weight loss, as well as optimize the use of insulin. I thought I would give it a shot. I also use L-Carnitine and CoQ10.

You might want to read up on a few supplements in the Vita Nutrient Supplement section of this board. There are quite a few interesting information expressed about various supplements.

                    Snacks

Yes, I'm a big fan of cheese, and maybe too big of fan :sarcasm .
I think this hurt me on my last try, because I got stalled after about a week. I need to cut back on the cheese and do the jerky, boiled egg snack, salami snack thing. Do you eat Barbeque pork rinds? They have 0 carbs and for some :joy aren't that bad.

I would actually LOVE to have some turkey salami! I'm crazy about it, but now that I am fighting the yeasties, I can't have processed meats (although I still have the rest of my turkey bacon to finish up).

I don't eat pork, so pork rinds are not an option for me. But they seem to be a favorite for quite a few ADBBers. Just be cautious of the BBQ ones, since they usually contain some sugars. I've actually read that the BBQ ones are not allowed on induction at all and that the only salted ones are better (use hot sauce to spice it up or sour cream for a dip).

                        hello

Is it too late to join? I wasn't planning on starting until Tuesday the 12th, but I figured...hey...close enough! I did Atkins for a few weeks last year but fell off the bandwagon at a wedding and never got back on. I have gained about 20 pounds since the beginning of 2004, and I want to lose all that, plus another 10.

What's everyone having for breakfast?? I'll be starting off tomorrow with a trip to the grocery store to pick up eggs, beef, cheese, bacon and cream cheese. I plan on doing induction for 3 weeks instead of two.

Good luck everyone and keep posting!

Hi kris_linne! Welcome to the challenge! No, it's never too late to start. I will be doing this induction for more than 2 weeks, so everyone can join whenever they would like.

What food are you planning to eliminate from your list? I noticed that you bought some cream cheese, so it can't be the cheese. One elimination will suffice. You don't have to eliminate everything that I am. Just something that you feel will stall, or has stalled, your weight loss progress.

Here is my breakfast menu for today.......
2 scrambled eggs w/ olive oil & a dash of garlic oil
                          3 slices turkey bacon

Lunch will more than likely be some chicken wings baked in olive oil and a salad.

                          Dinner is still undecided.

So, how did everyone do yesterday? I was hoping that everyone would check in and report their progress. I actually did better than I thought I would! Absolutely no decaf, no sweeteners and no cheeses! Today I even eliminated the butter from my menu. I still have more to eliminate due to my KISS WOE.

Good luck everyone and have a great day!

                            good start!

Yesterday was a pretty uneventful day. I got in way over 100 ozs of water. Had 2 cheesburgers for lunch -minus the bun. For supper, funny thing, I had scrambled eggs, some cheese, and 5 sausage links. After running last night, of which I do every night now on my treadmill, I'm not that hungry. So it was 32 ozs of water, then bed.
This morning, once again, decaf coffee. Hoping to do a big salad for lunch with all the good fixings - turkey, ham, eggs, cheese, olives, and 0 carb dressing. I'm not a big fan or oil and vinegar dressing, but there are so many good 0 carb dressings available now, I'm much happier.
Have not had a diet rite yet.
Can't say I've eliminated anything on my diet, but cutting back on cheese and pop is a must.

Hi tksmooth, you're doing great! Keep it up. But you know that you would probably be alot better off eliminating the sodas. If you MUST have it, try cutting it down to once a week on a special day of the week. Just remember to count each serving as one carb.

As far as the 0 carb dressings, I used to use them too. However, since I have a candida overgrowth, I am not allowed to have processed foods. That's why I have simple meals, seasonings and spices.

Decaf is actually still allowed, but I want to eliminate it for at least 2 wks. I still have some turkey bacon to eat up, so that will be the last of my processed/cured meats for a while. I also have my chicken and beef jerky to eat up (homemade, but using soy sauce which is also a big no-no during this KISS WOE) so that will be the last of the fermented sauces.

So far, I am doing great with it, but I just hope it doesn't get monotonous after a few days...or weeks!
