    Hi Moonwish :wave

Sorry I haven't been checking in regularly. My daughter was having a hard time sleeping the past 3 nights, so I was unable to get online and reply.

You're doing a great job! Keep up the great work! What does your menu look like on a regular day? Now that I am candida-free, I am starting to add in a few things to my menu. I have added sweetener in the form of liquid stevia (since this is allowed also for KISSers, it was my first choice. Plus, no carbs since the dosage is so small. A few drops is all you need!). I have also started adding cheese in once a week.

As far as the coffee goes, I miss it, but it was easy for me to give it up cold turkey. Now that I use the stevia, I drink herbal teas instead. I guess this helped me get over the coffee craving.

My weight is fluctuating right now, due to TOM, but I still have to weigh often since I am adding in some foods again.

Ok, I was planning to put up my menues, but was only shortly online yesterday - so I'll do it now.
For tuesday I had cauliflower/ground meat leftovers in the morning, grilled salmon and green sald for lunch (eating out), grilled chicken with fresh garlic and some cucumbers for dinner.
Wendesday: 3 fried eggs in the morning, 2 chicken breasts fried with onion and garlic at lunch, grilled chicken and green salad later in the evening. I'm also drinking 2-3 cups mint tea during a day.
I feel a bit strange - I'm not actually hungry, but after meal I feel something like hunger pains in my stomach. I know it's not hunger, because I have just eaten, I'm satisfied - but it feels like hunger. Also my stomach was a little bit sore when I went to bet yesterday - kinda like after doing crunches - but I haven't done any. I guess it's just adapting to new kind of eating. Besides that, I feel well. Been very busy for last days, so haven't had time to eat out of emotions. I think weekend is gonna be tougher... But maybe I'm ready by then?

        hmmm... let's see for today...
It's been a really weird menu - 6 eggs and bunch of lettuce, some cucumbers and cauliflower, olive oil, 1/4 of a medium onion, pork roast... doesn't make any sense? I just said as it was!

Your menues look great! However, you should avoid eating leftovers. Here is a link which specifies that http://ibscrohns.about.com/cs/candid...iasisfaq_2.htm. Other than that, you are doing a wonderful job!

I totally forgot to add in those links for you, so here they are now!

http://www.lifetimefitness.com/magaz...tArticleId=206 (check out the links at the bottom too)

http://www.candidapage.com/ (a list of links all dedicated to candida)

http://www.mwilliamson.com/yeastdiet.htm (Acceptable food list for candida diet & what is allowed on each phase....very helpful!)

http://www.wholeapproach.com/ (another info & forum board with recipes too!)

These are very informative and helpful links. I especially found the acceptable foods list of great help because it helps you to add things on as you heal. I did my 6wks and then added stuff on, especially after getting tested and getting a negative reading on the candida. I suggest you also stick to the very basics for the first 6wks and then start adding on too. This gives your body more time to heal and be completely free of candida.

          Have a great weekend!

The "no leftovers" rule is really a tough one! How do you take your lunch or don't you have to do that? Never eat any pre-made food?
            ?
            Thanks for the links!

              Hi Moonwish!

I hope that you have been able to survive the long wait to move back home to ADBB! I'm glad that I made it back over here! I tried to PM you a few times, but it would log me out every time. I was lucky to get in some posts without being logged off automatically!

Yes, the no leftovers rule was a bummer for me. I was able to portion out my meals and not get stuck with leftovers. If I did have any, it went to the rest of the family but I did have some myself, on occassion. If there really is not other way for you to get around that rule, then it is your choice to continue doing so. As long as you keep it cooled before heating it, there shouldn't be a problem.

How's your weight loss coming along? Have the numbers started moving? I had a 3 pound loss this week! Yoo Hoo :icondance I am really starting to notice a difference in myself. My pants are 2 sizes too big, my shoe size shrunk one size and my belly is getting flatter. Ok, I only lost 28 pounds, but I am glad to be rid of them!!!! :yes

              Have a great weekend!

                Hi Chynna!
I didn't do very well last week, as I stayed at the hospital with kid. Had to do some (some? ha!) testing and treatment - fortunately we're back at home now! And I have to wait till next Friday to know if he has an illness they suspect. so, staying there and eating what was offered wasn't really a right way to eat... but I think I did pretty good under the circumstances. And I'm down to 138 (4 lbs lost since last weigh-in) - so I didn't ruin it very deep.
So good to hear about your loss and your clothes! And don't say - 28 pounds sounds pretty much to me! :hug

                  Hi Moonwish!

I'm sorry to hear about your child being hospitalized. I hope that he/she will be alright! May I ask what illness is suspected here? :hug

Well, although you could not avoid going off-track with your "diet", you still did a great job at losing weight! I would also imagine that it had alot to do with stress.

Thanks for your support on my weight loss :hug Yes, you're right, 28 pounds is a great accomplishment. Any weight loss is, actually.... at least for me! I am actually now down 32 pounds since the last time I posted here, so that is another 4 pounds gone! YOO HOO :icondance I just bought some new clothes, and some of them are already loose again! So, I will have to take them back to get another size smaller! What a change.... I usually would've had to go back for a bigger size, rather than a smaller one! lol

By the way, you probably have seen the changes to the board and seen the section on candida. All of us "yeastie-fighters" are there, so if you have any questions on doing CAD, you can post there. OK?

Take care and best wishes to you and your family!

                    Hi again.
I think we could as well shut this thread and move our "challenge" to yeast-forum as well? As it's only you and me left here.
The illness is called mucovicidosis, if I'm spelling correctly and I really really hope it's not the case (and thanks for asking!). I had it when kid and I spent most of my early years at the hospital... And it's supposed to run in the family, so maybe I shouldn't had "made" kids at all... Anyway, I really hope, it's not that, because he doesn't seem to be very ill. Yes, he catches all the viruses around, but it could be worse - I used to have pneumonia like 5 times every winter. But it's better to know than suspect I think.

Hi there! Sorry that I haven't replied to this thread in a while. Everytime I logged on to do that, I usually got caught up with that troll who tried to convince us of why we are losing weight or I got side-tracked with other things....

How are things going for you? How is your child? I really do hope that he/she (you never said if you have a boy or girl) is doing well.

I was thinking of moving this challenge over to the candida forum, but the whole forum is basically just a "squeaky clean" induction, so I decided not to do so. But this is not a candida-diet thread. This is just a challenge to remove those items that usually stall/slow down weight loss or that cause cravings. I just happened to start the candida diet shortly after starting this thread, so I incorporated that into this one too.

BTW, I won't be weighing myself again until Christmas day. That's when the Christmas Challenge is over and I will see how close to goal I made it. I actually revised my goal to my mini-goal, but it was not edited in the "progress report" that Mystique posts.
