Way to stick up for the plan! Carrots can be tempting, but are no no's. Using red/orange/ and yellow peppers is a great way to add color to dishes without adding the carrots.

Welcome Roshan!!! Glad to see you here too! Way to go on your 2 weeks!! Hope that scale starts tipping soon. Mine is stuck right now, and only wants to budge up to scare me now and then. This challenge will get it moving again, I hope.

Congratulations on being cheat free for THREE DAYS! Woo Hoo! I bet you feel soooo good!!

It is a little frustrating to be around people who may sabatoge your efforts, ay?
Here's to another cheat free day!

P.S. I'm not very busy at work today so I am just posting away, ay?

Wow! Congratulations on being cheat free for TWO WEEKS! That's is GREAT!!

Welcome to the team. We are all here together and I'm so thankful that Marion started this challenge. It has already helped me and the main reason I started on Induction again.

              Hey MsRina!

You're doing great and are just about over the hump!! Hang in there! It will get easier after these first few days!!

It helps being here because there are so many nice, supportive people in this group.

Do you have any allowable snacks that you can munch on when you get those cravings?

              Welcome to the challenge!!

I think what we all experience after a "cheat" is that "well, since I did it yesterday, why not just start tomorrow, and have a few things I've been missing today." Its the whole guilt complex thing. I was thinking about it this morning.... On one hand its like we're rewarding ourselves in a way for cheating, by giving ourselves comfort food, but on the other hand its like punishing ourselves, because we're only increasing our bad health! And yes, one candy bar (for example) can hurt, because its all part of the destructive behavior that got us to this point. I am SOOOO proud of you for going out to your car, and getting away from the temptation! That is what seperates those who succeed from those who give up and say "it didn't work for me". I think all of us here are ready to become the one who succeeds, or we wouldn't be here. So, GOOD FOR YOU!!! Have an extra glass of water! You've earned it!
You are so right! thanks for the kind words . I just need to keep of the scales for a bit (TOM). I am clean so far today, the days not over yet will keep you posted. I am still craving (grapes).

I went to do my weekly shopping today and it was so weird going to the fruit & veg section and not buying fruit.......

Thanks for the encouragement! It's been really hard but am trying to hang in there as best I can. It's a bit easier because my boyfriend and I are doing this together. I don't really have any allowable snacks when I do get the cravings...Do you have any suggestions? I'm still kind of doing this blindly!

Keep hanging in there everybody. Day 3 and lost 3 pounds. Anybody can do it as long as they stick to the basics in DANDR.

I will eat a few olives, a pickle, a few plain pork rinds, a piece of cheese - for starters. Other people here may have different suggestions too. (Always be sure to check the ingredients and make sure that sugar is not listed or you will never get rid of the cravings.)

Once you get past the first few days it will get easier and you won't be as snacky. (Be sure that you are drinking a minimum of eight eight-ounce glasses of water every day.)

Hi everyone! Welcome to MsRina!!! I'm adding you to our list as on day 4. Congrats on taking the steps to improve your life. The biggest suggestion I can make is READ THE BOOK, meaning The Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution = DANDR, if you haven't already. I've noticed those who try to go it without reading, usually have a hard time. The next suggestion is go first to http://www.weightlossforgood.co.uk/bmr_calculator.htm to find out how much you should be eating calorically speaking, (what the calculator finds out is your BMR, or amount of calories needed by your body just to survive) and then go to www.fitday.com which is a free site that allows you to keep track of what you're eating. The percentages of your food intake should be 65% fat, 5% carbs, and 30% protein and don't eat less calories than your BMR. Remember that too much protein will be turned into glucose which is sugar, which will raise your blood sugar...yada yada yada. This seems to be the magic formula for consistant weight loss. Next DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Take your body weight, divide it by 2, and thats how many ounces of water you should be drinking. Watch your sodium, don't eat "frankenfoods" (junk marketed as low carb full of artificial sugars and sugar alchohols), try not to drink caffinated things, or even too many diet sodas. Remember you're only allowed 3 servings of splenda or other non sugar sweetners a day, and these can still raise your blood sugar. Finally watch our for hidden sugars under the name corn syrup, fructose or anything like that, or things with flour or corn starch in them. Whatever the carb count is, you deduct the fiber grams to get your net, or total carbs. Ok...hope this helps. If you already knew all this, I hope you forgive my going on.

OK, I'm off my pulpit, people!

Tommy, sorry about giving you the extra day! You could have taken it and ran, but you came and told us about it like an good honest laddie! Here's a pat on the back for ya! ***Whack!

                              See ya all later!

I think I'm starting my Induction Flu...I've had a headache today and feel a little swimmy and my tummy's starting to growl...(can you hear it?)

                                Anyone else?

Well, this is the hurdle...when there is effort to keep going.

I just saw a big basket of peaches my boss put on the back table, then eating a sandwich came to mind (for some reason) and I thought to myself...I can eat anything I want...and then another part of me reminded me that everything is not good for me even though I can eat it...what did I want to do? I went and grabbed a mug, filled it with water and took a decaf green tea bag out of the cabinet, put it in the microwave and made a cup of hot tea (I don't even like tea that much)...I did feel like caving, but I didn't want to...thanks to everyone being here and us doing this like a team! You've helped me fight this temptation.
