    Hi everyone!!!! I am happy to report Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were all cheat free for me. I was so nervous about my Anniversary dinner but I did just fine. I had salad,
    lobster tail w/butter and steamed veggies (broccoli and carrots) I didn't eat the carrots though, it was just perfect!!!!!! I had an awesome weekend and look forward to putting up my 1 month cheat free button after today!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

      Roxy, I'm so glad that your anniversary dinner went well! Kudos on not touching those carrots! It sounds like you had a perfect legal meal that was delicious too!

      NewMeIn2006, it sounds like you had a great weekend! I loved the bit at the end of your post where you said you're smiling at yourself when you look in the mirror. That touched me and I'm so happy for you that you're starting to see some positive changes!

      kislandmom, the week before I moved to rung one I didn't lose anything. The first week of veggie rung I lost two pounds. It's different for everyone, but all you can do is try and see. If you're not feeling comfortable after trying the veggie rung for a couple of weeks, you can always go back to induction or continue on veggie rung but lower your carbs back down to 20. Give it a shot, you don't have anything to lose!

      Maerow, sorry to hear you had a slip-up, but good for you for getting right back on track! Your lunch sounds good, and you'll be back to legal in no time!

      As for me, I'm heading up to my 2 month mark. I can't believe it! I also try my first bit of peanut butter today...can't wait! I'm saving it for a treat though, so I won't be having it until tonight. You know, before Atkins I wouldn't have considered peanut butter a treat lol, but I can appreciate the smaller stuff much more now!

          Hi everyone, I hope everyone is having a wonderful cheat free day today. I have been doing good but I have to up my food amount. Because of summer and my hubby works second shift, we get in the bad habit in the summer of sleeping late and then I do not get three meals in during the day. School starts tomorrow and that will make us get up by a bit after seven and we will get back to three meals again. I know I did not eat enough yesterday as we got up late and did a lot of major stuff around the house, and then got up late again today, ran some errands and did not eat until eleven thirty today . I am just not hungry and it was me feeling icky today that made me go home and eat. Not being hungry. That is a great part of low carb, the not being hungry, but I have to make myself eat through the day. I have to make myself eat more, that is crucial.
          I made the decision after last weekend that cheating is just not an option and to get that out of my head and I am doing good with that.I do not think about what I cannot have. Our son has some normal food but I just do not eat it. No goodies except he does have some ice cream, but we keep a ton of sugar free jello cups in the fridge and if I have to have something sweet, that is enough for me. I have not had one in a few days.
          I sometimes get frustrated because I go up and down the same pounds for as much as two weeks, but if I am patient I will go down another whoosh and then it goes up and down that new number for a while before it drops again.I am starting to drop again in my up and down cycle, so I should see a new low number soon. But by weighing every day and watching the pattern, I can see what is going on. Not drinking enough water will really slow down my weight loss and for some reason this past few days, I have only gotten in one liter a day and that is not enough. That is my personal challenge this week, to drink enough water, at least two to three liters a day. I know if I do, I will see better numbers so it is just foolish on my part to not drink it. I am spinning my wheels when I do not drink the water as my weight loss can be as low as a half pound a week without water and as high a a half pound a day, with a lot of water, so, it is in my best interest to get the water in.
          As usual I will check in through out the day to see how everyone is doing. I will check in before bed to add my day blinkie to my week, I am excited about starting the new week with my week blinkie up, so that is awesome !!! Onward to two weeks !!!

            Christine- I had a great time, thanks for asking! I had never been to a Dave Matthews Band concert and it was more awesome than I expected. The singing and dancing and everything. I hope everyone had a great Sunday and now it's back to the salt mines, lol.

              I see you girls are on point, and I'm happy. Soooo busy I couldn't read the posts throughly. I'm just glad that all of you are here doing the wol. I'm still on point and keeping it right. Continue to do it. Those feeling discouraged, don't trip, we all have our moments, this too shall pass!!!

                Day eight under my belt so I added a day to my week, pretty happy about that. Ate good today and got in three liters of water in today.
                Looking forward to day nine tomorrow !!!

                      Stephie, what you said really hit home for me! That I have to get cheating out of my head! It cannot even be an option!

                      I cheated again on Sunday! He had his work picnic! Now I dont know about you, but for me there is cheating and then there is CHEATING! Well I REALLY CHEATED!!! Lets just say that I have not cheated this bad since I have started!

                      You know something though.... I learned a valuable lesson! I felt so fat and so BLOATED by the end of the day that I thought I was going to barf! Like I told my husband that I never want to go that extream EVER again!!!!!

                        My hubby and I did the same thing over a week ago for the entire weekend and felt the same way. Bloated and nasty. Gassy and exhausted as well. It was not worth it at all. THat is why after three weeks total on low carb this time, I am only on day nine cheat free, I would be three weeks tomorrow if we had not blown it. Really really fooish behavior .
                        Do I get bored, sure, would I love to eat anything I want to, sure. But can I, no. Not if I want to be healthy and lose this weight once and for all and keep it off.
                        So, I just take the option away. I have to eat this way, there is no other way and no use thinking about it.
                        Next time you are faced with a day out like that, there are a couple of things you can do. Absoutely stuff yourself with low carb food right before you go and then bring a tiny ice chest with you with some legal foods in it, cut up cheese, hard boiled eggs, whatever will work for you. If they have even one thing there you can eat, just eat that one thing, if you are full, you will not want much. I think that is the only thing that will work to be honest, it takes away the hunger that will make you want to eat what you should not eat.
                        Just remember how awful you felt too, keep that experience alive so you know what you will go through if you decide to make a wrong choice, it may just keep you from going through with it.

                          Well said BookLady - I just had that conversation with myself last night. Even if I do want to have something that is not Atkins friendly, I know how awful I will feel. I am learning to gain pleasure from other things and not from food. I used to get such a rush from binging on candy and stuff. Now, I just feel yucky and disgusted with myself. I am getting my "high" from feeling good.


                          I also know how you feel about playing with the same couple of pounds! It is so frustrating (and boring) seeing the same numbers day after day. I have yet to get the Whoosh though. For me, one pound would be a whoosh!

                              It’s a beautiful, hot day here. The dictator is in the office today, so we’ve all got to be on our best behavior. Oy!



                              Roxy – Way to go on staying cheat-free during the weekend. You did well at the anniversary dinner. We knew you could do it! Congrats on 1 month cheat-free!! It feels good, doesn’t it?



                              Stephie – Congrats on day 8! You’re doing very well. You’ve faltered, but you still walk the line. Hopefully you’re doing well on your water so you can see some loss this week.



                              Tirtle – Stephie had some good suggestions for helping to avoid a cheat. Now you know that you don’t like that feeling, so you’ll be less apt to cheat next time. A big congrats on your first day cheat-free!!!



                              Dolphin – How are you doing today? Hopefully you’re day will be less busy today.



                              Christine – How’d that first bite of peanut butter go? I have a big weakness for pb, so I’m interested to hear how it affects you.



                              I’m still doing good and watching the blinkies move up. I’ve got to count everyday because that helps me so much. I moved up to OWL Rung 1 yesterday, and was looking forward to eating more veggies, but wouldn’t you know it that I only got in 20 net carbs yesterday. Gotta be better about that. I’m honestly thinking about starting a journal, but haven’t completely decided yet.



                              I didn’t get a chance to copy off my picture yesterday, so it’s still not in my siggie. I remember getting home last night and then going to bed, but all those hours in between, I’m really not sure where they went.

                                Another cheat free day for me, I finally hit two months! It almost seems unreal, because before I started Atkins I was convinced that I had absolutely no willpower at all. I guess it was just hiding!

                                Roxy! Congrats on one month! You're doing so good!

                                Colleen, have you thought about posting your menu on the Review my Menu board? Maybe there's something that somebody else will see that needs to be changed about your meals. Wouldn't hurt to try!

                                booklady, very good post! When I go out to coffee with my best friend on Sunday nights I take a small glass bottle with about 2 ounces of heavy cream in it so I don't have to use half & half. When I started doing that I realized that there shouldn't ever be an excuse of not being able to bring legal foods with me somewhere. It's worked so far!

                                TirtleBaby, I'm glad you got right back up and dusted yourself off. Congrats on being cheatfree yesterday.
