Re: How Long Can You Go???
NewMe - The low potassium isn't from Atkins. When I do any kind of exercising I have to take lasix because I swell up so bad. The lasix is what drains the potassium out of me. When I'm on Atkins I walk or ride my exercise bike every day, so have to take the lasix and a potassium supplement every day. Unfortunately the dosage of potassium wasn't enough to keep up with what I was losing every day. So now I'm taking 4x as much potassium. My fasting blood sugar was 109. I'm not sure what the normal range is for fasting blood sugar, I'll have to look that up. My doctor wants me to switch to the South Beach diet because my cholesterol levels have soared in the past few months. I'm not going to do South Beach though. I like Atkins.

I kinda feel bad/it feels weird... that now that I'm at goal most all foods are ok for me except processed/refined breads, chips cakes or any sugar containing items or any binging/overeating on things ok enjoyed while at goal in moderation example corn on cob or sweet potato...a half cup is oK 3 large sweet potatoes would definetely be cheating for me...it seems a grey line but I am still on the right side of it.

Its wonderful to see how many people are still here and cruising right along! PROUD OF YOU ALL!!!!
