      Hey all

Its great to check in and see how everybody is doing!

Jess - fantastic news regarding the pants! Way to go!

Rikki - at least you got some type of work out will all that running around - great stuff! Vocal lessons - all right I'm nosey What type of singing are you doing?

Rachel - it *is* obtainable. You can do it, you can do it!

Juli - I was feeling great this morning. I did my measurements today (its day 7 on my induction) and I've lost 11.5" in a week! Walked the kids to school, and felt great. But I've gotten home, and am starting to feel blah. I think its the change in weather here (yesterday it was in the 90's and today its overcast with a forecast of a storm) that, aswell as not getting in as much water. Today I dont even think that I have drunk 15oz as yet *sighs*

That icky feeling must be going around. I dunno if i didn't eat enough or didn't drink enough. I was 1 1/2 cups shy of all my water! I may drink some before bed.. depending on how i feel. I don't feel like i ate enough today... but this icky feeling is not letting me eat. I do have highs and lows even following atkins to a T. Sometimes at night I am so drained that I am in bed by 9pm! The kids are just amazed. But then, I'm up at the butt crack of dawn due to ketosis and just cannot sleep after hubby wakes up at 5 a.m. Oh well.. use that energy to my advantage I suppose. Weather was icky today here too. Managed to get my exercise in - won't be getting that other mile in tho

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

            Good morning groupies!!!!
Veronica, fantastic on the inital weight loss, your body is shedding water and the beginnings of fats! How fantastic is that. Drink water is key to keeping yourself hydrated, and it helps move those fats out...Water is a difficult thing, but it also helps keep you full. It give you something to do, and it's how that fat gets OUT of your body...
We've all learned to move past the weight loss and into the daily working out of the basics,: foods, water and exercise...
Some days you are high energy, and other days your body is screaming for rest. We've living with such peaks of zeal that we then crash...I peaked and crashed all the time in the early days... And yes, I sorta crashed yesterday...Stayed close to home, and caught up with it all here for the family...
Hope you GROUPIES, have a great day as we cruise right towards New Years, becoming stronger every day, more focused and self controlled!!!!

Hello all! Where is everyone? I just got off work, about to feed the pooches and go to my vocal lessons... ugh, I dread them... anywho- I didn't work out again today but will be sure to at least do some crunches and stuff tonight... Foodwise I was good too, except I ordered a grilled chicken salad that ended up having shredded carrots in it, so I picked around them for a LONG time trying to avoid them! lol...

dinner is undecided still.. maybe wendys burgers and a salad... hmmm....

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

I love Wendy's burgers, meat only and cheese...I've had 3 in 99 days...
I rarely eat out, just don't like to deal with it!!! Made a pizza soup, with tomatoe sauce, and diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and sausage with cubed moz. cheese on top...I added extra water to level out carbs...we will follow this up with keto sticks to make sure we are still in ketosis...this is the only way I know to check if we have added too many carbs, which I don't think we have. Learning as we go!!!!

Sure Rikki - you can call me Vern. I usally get Ronnie, Von, Vonnie or something along those lines - so Vern is a new one for me - but I quite like it!

A rock band! Wow! Thats fantastic Would love to hear some of your music sometime! In regards to the singing lessons - no experience on this end - I couldnt sing myself out of a paper bag LOL! But hey, its a different learning curve right? so its gotta count

Jess, yesterday I was terrible with my water! Not even 34 ounces me thinks *sighs* I was silly actually, cause I started to get a mild headache, that progressed to one where I felt my actual head was going to explode! I starting sipping water and it eased off - but didnt really con to the fact, that it was my water intake (or lack of) giving me my headache to begin with.

I did however, keep up my exercise. Walked the girls to school - 1.2 miles down. Went to gym and did a 35 minute vigorous bike ride, and then around 20 minutes of free weights. All up milage was over 8 - so not too bad, but not as good as yesterday!

Outback- I have seem Caitlin around the forums, actually. She and I share an interest in the 80s. Yay Breakfast Club!

Re: New Me for 2007 New Years Challenge!

Jess, your post in the STAC forum really sums up what this new years challange means to me.

It's not about loosing x # of lbs by new years, or meeting my exercise or water goals etc. It really is about evolving into a new person. (I say evolving because we never really stop as long as we keep thriving . . . isn't that great, that we can always keep growing - not physically of course - but mentally, spiratualy whatever)

And it's not just the Fat that will come back if we don't change, it's the bad habits. We have to replace those bad habits with new, good habits.

That's my focus for the rest of this year, I wan't to set myself up for a great 2007. It's only been less than 2 weeks, and I feel like a new person already - but I still have to work everyday on making sure these new wonderful habits stick. So everyday I follow my routine, until the habits I want to develop come naturally.

I don't know If any of that made sense, but I'm off to meet DF and go to the gym . . . so I'll come back and read it over later.
