JANUARY No Weigh Challenge!!!

    ugh... had a total brain-fart yesterday. Kids came home Tuesday with report cards. I was so sure it was the 31st, weighed myself yesterday morning. Aaaaaarrrgghhh!

    The weight was good, my orientation to time - however - not so good! Down 7.6 lbs in Jan.... ;-)


    Restart -10/18/2009 - 204.6 lbs (UGH!!!)
    Goal 1 - under 200 - met 10/19/2009
    Goal 2 - 190 - met 10/25/2009
    Goal 3 - 180
    Goal 4 - 170
    Goal 5 - 160
    Goal 6 - 150
    Goal 7 - 140
    Goal 8 - 135
    Goal - To zip up current pants without sucking it in-10/25/09
    Goal - To need a belt/roll waistband of current pants
    Goal - To wear the next size down - 11/13/09
    Goal - To wear the next size down - without a muffin top!! 11/18/09
    Goal - To wear 'those' jeans (ya know - the ones in the back of the closet, hidden under a winter coat)
    Day 13 - wine free/ cheat free

      7.6 pounds is a TREMENDOUS loss! Whoo Hoo for you.

      btw, it would take me months to lose 7.6 lbs.!

          I lost 7.5 pounds this month!

          Pretty good for being 6 months in!

          And based on the amount of water I consumed last night vs. the frequency of visiting the bathroom (only a couple times), methinks I'm retaining water, so I'm double-checking my weight on Saturday.

          I feel much more confident that I can stay on track and do this without depending on the scale. I even added a couple new foods and found 2 foods that give me trouble without ever looking at the scale for reassurance. I can do it!

            Hey Julie,

            Yay! Congrats on the loss - that is great, espcecially for 6 months in and met your second mini goal. More importantly you've conquered the scale.

            Just out of interest, how did you know those two foods weren't working for you, without using the scale?

              Soon after I ate them, I became bloated/gassy/cramped. Ordinarily I think I might not have noticed specifically what it was, but I paid closer to attention to what I was eating, how much, how often, and when. I eliminated all foods that I knew couldn't be causing the problem, and then ate the suspicious food again, watched the clock, and waited for symptoms to appear. Ironically, the two foods are cucumbers and jicama, stuff I'd been eating all along!

                Ok what the heck, Its Feb, so I went to go weigh myself and the batteries are dead on the scale. I had the trash can on it for the past month so I guess it wore out the batteries. LOL my luck. I will get batteries after work.

                    I was going to wait until the end of the board-wide challenge, but I just had to know this morning (Sorry, Jo! Baarb, you're a stronger woman than I... ). 8 pounds for me this month... which is exactly where I said I'd be satisfied to be... I'm at 229, and wanted to be below 230. I also lost 14.5 inches (or 12.5 if you don't count both arms and both legs), which I'm equally as pleased about it.

                    I'm fairly certain I lost more than 8 pounds of fat and have replaced it with leaner muscle -- which I know from paying attention to my body and not the scale!

                      Congrats on the 8 lbs. Whoot!!!!

                      Actually, with all the exercise you do, you probably lost MORE than 8 lbs. You probably gained some muscle and lost a lot of fat.

                              I am at 235lbs so almost 10lbs gone! I did weigh in during the first week of the challenge(oops).

                                I weighed too, but halfway through, so really I've only done like 2 two week challenges - so you did better than that
