But you can tell from your inches and your clothes, right? So, you're really not ignorant. You could, however, invest in some keto stix, if you're really curious. PM me your address, and I'll put a few in the mail to you.

Re: JANUARY Weigh?? No WAY!! Challenge!!!

Adena - you are so right - I am also hoping to stop my daily weighing via this challenge (cold turkey sort of thing).

Juli - I've just started back with induction (because of Xmas derailing) and I really miss the food I 'earned'! Especially extra cheese, nuts and coco powder, though I found induction easy the first time. Weird. I think it depends on the size of the cookie fest, but I imagine it would only take 3 days or so on your normal 35 to be back to normal. In the past when on 30g if I ate some serious carbs (but only in one sitting) I would usually be back to normal within a few days in terms of weight the same or going down.

The scale was calling me this morning so I got dressed really fast. I think as long as I don't get naked for the whole month I'll be fine . No point in weighing in clothes, I always think. Another good trick might be to drink a huge glass of water before I get out of bed.

But I resisted! Ha! Take that, scale

Well here is another day! I just cant do this challenge. Im sorry. I just am not at the point I guess where I dont worry about it. Im always worrying that I am doing something wrong in induction. And I found a few things I need to work on, and it might hang me up.

              January 4, 2007: DAY 4

Here's your SCALE SCOFF for the day, 1/4/07:
              http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspart...ight/scale.htm

I eyeballed the scale this morning, but didn't feel like weighing myself. I also only ate about 25 carbs yesterday, so I'm quite confident that things are running smoothly. I know I can do this!

(Oh yeah, I just wanted to say, that the cookie dough I ate was legal! After I saw the term cookie-fest in print, I was horrified that people were thinking I ate 3 packs of Oreos in one sitting or something...it was that darned peanut butter cookie recipe with splenda, pb, and egg that did me in! STAY AWAY FROM THE PB COOKIES!)

I totally failed this challenge. Go ahead, me now!

Here's my excuse: I'm trying to get my percentages at maintenance level. It's really difficult and I'm so neurotic that I will gain this way. I didn't gain, but did weigh!

Well silly, Adena will be here shortly to beat you with a wet noodle.

Stay in the challenge, and see how long you can go again without weighing!

(whap! whap! whap! whap!) That's two lashes each for Silly and Schellie!

Who woulda thunk that this would be just as hard as (or harder than?) giving up sugar...??

I have been tempted, but not too badly, actually. And the weird thing is, I feel sorta... freer. I can drink water first thing in the morning if I feel like it. I am not judging how good I'm doing by what the scale says, because I KNOW I'm doing good. I admit I'm a little nervous that I'll be wrong and gain 10 pounds... but for now, all signs are pointing in the right direction. Tomorrow, however, is my normal "official" weigh day. Hopefully I'll feel as strongly then!

Btw, Julie, I read that article... really good. Thanks for sharing. I want to get rid of my lumpy, bumpy feathers and generate more golden nuggets!

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that tomorrow WOULD HAVE BEEN my weigh-in day...thanks a LOT for reminding me, Adena! I'm actually feeling pretty confident. I'm wearing the size 14 khakis that wouldn't fit yesterday due to my gastrointestinal reaction to those cucumbers (who woulda thought?!!??) and my headache is ebbing away.

Yeah I thought that article was a good reminder about WHY we are doing this challenge...all the things that we obsess over that affect what the scale says.

I weighed today for the memorial day challenge, urgh, I think I'll skip the next one cuz I didn't enjoy it. The scale is evil. The scale is evil. The scale IS evil! I'm going to finish my first water bottle of the day (24oz) then head to the gym pretty soon with the next one.

                              Hi Ayria,

You're right the scale is evil, but also cunning. Mine seems to have edged itself out ever so slightly from under the chest of drawers where I kept it and I keep looking at it. Pathetic! I was going to instruct my BF to hide it, but now I kind of want to prove I can do it even though it's right there. Perhaps this is foolish...

BTW I was thinking of having a mini-goal for March 11th too - it's my b-day. I think I'd like to be at 178 by then. Frankly I'd be so happy to be in the 12 stone bracket that I'll probably weep with joy and ruin my birthday Best of luck with your goal too
