    Kgsmom, thanks. How long did it take you to lose the 19 lbs. When did you start induction. I don't see it on your profile. Just curious since my first short term goal is to get to 200.

      elsy - I started on March 13th so it took me 41 days to loose 19 lbs. I lost 11 pounds in just 8 days when I started and then it slowed down a lot and then took me 34 days to loose then next 8lbs. Tomorow is a month and a half for me. I did cheat once on the end of my 3rd week. That was really dumb. It tasted good at the time, but later that night I had all my cravings back adn I ate a buch of junk that did not tast good and it really slowed me down. I would problably be in Wonderland(under 200lbs) by now if I had not cheated. Oh well. Live and learn.
      You are doing fantastic keep up the good work and don't cheat! You won't regret not cheating but you will regret cheating.

          Rest day for me, food was so so.... too many legal foods, back on track tho'. I think I just over did the strawberries. I usually never have berries and an apple in the same day, so that's what I mean by too many legal foods.

          after almost 5 months on Atkins and over 63 lbs down! Watch for updates!

            HG, there are worse things you could do.

            (I'm saying that because I eat apples and strawberries on the same day all the time! I'm gonna do it again tonight, just watch me.

            My foods are good. I'm still struggling to eat enough carbs. It would be a cinch if I would just cook those darn squashes...but I'm lazy. And I don't feel like eating oatmeal, or bread, or rye crackers. But with the help of that pesky apple and some chocolate milk after dinner, I should be able to hit 70g.

              Yeah worse could have happened believe me.... I have had a very strong craving for french fries today..... I won't cave, but there has been some deffinate weakness.

              I only think I could have not had the berries, cuz I didn;'t really plan them. My 13 year old knew I was feeling stressed and made me a bowl of berries and cream mashed together for dessert while I was waiting for my Realestate agent to call me back. She knew I was feeling a bit stressed waiting for our offer to be responded to. We haven't presented our offer yet, but it is at her office and we are waiting for her to come back with her opinion on our opening bid. So stress. I didn't at them because I was stressed, but I guess I have made a habit of feeding my family to make em feel better and she has picked up that trait. Maybe i will address it at a later date and thank her for what she did but tell her food doesn't equal love and a hug would have been just as much appreciated.

                cOngRats!!! So you are typically consuming close to 70 carbs and still losing like crazy! How awesome! I am jealous!
                What is a typical daily routine for you? I am trying to better my routine but it is difficult. I work nights so I have limited time (6 hrs. sleep-2 hrs. commute-3 hrs. with kids) between 13 hr. shifts to be with my family and fix dinner yada yada yada... I need to make more time! Plain and simple! How much excerise are you getting daily?
                I need that motivation! If you do this...I can do it! You know what I mean?

                  Good morning Gang!

                  Let's see...this morning the scales are being kind. Back down to 189.8. Who knows if it will "stick". Typically it does the second time I see a low number.

                  Last night I ran 2.5 KM with the sun at my back. When I turned around to go the other direction...OMG the sun was BRUTAL and I was pouring sweat. Part of it was because of sunburn (D'OH) so I had to walk some. But, then I went down to the rec center and got in a GREAT workout on weights.

                  The plan is to run again this afternoon.

                  I'm not posting inches, because many of them went UP! Grrrr! Now the tape measure is on crack.

                    Kgsmom, thanks for the advise on not cheating. It is so weird that just last night, I had a dream that I had cheated like crazy and then I was regreting it so much that it made me cry. And then this morning when I checked out the thread and read your reply from yesterday...........it gave me chills! That must be a voice from up above, or my consience or just common sense.

                    I'm sticking to it, no matter what. My goal is to get to 200 by my BDay. That'll be the best BD gift ever to myself. BTW, my BD is just one day before the
                    4th of July. How appropriate is that. Now can you see why I was even more motivated to join this challenge.........

                      I forgot to ask you all something that has been bothering me everyday. I am a bacon lover and been having 2-5 strips for breakfast here and there. Even though it's in the list for induction they don't use it in the sample menu in the book. I noticed they include bacon up until OWL. Am I missing something. Am I doing something wrong.

                      BTW, the bacon I bought is the Nitratre free one.

                      Also, is it possible to drink too much water? Can this stall weight loss?

                        Elsy, you can totally do this!!!! This challenge has some of THE most enthusiastic cheerleaders and supporters you'll ever meet. They've helped me accomplish my goals time and time again over the last year.

                          CDRAKE--Well I'm not sure if I'd call it losing like crazy, but I think I lose an average of 1 pound per week, eating this many carbs. Now for my typical daily routine...as in exercise? Here's my normal schedule:

                          MONDAY--2 mile run, Boot Camp class
                          TUESDAY--day of rest
                          WEDNESDAY--1 mile run, Kickboxing class
                          THURSDAY--3 to 5 mile run
                          FRIDAY--Legs strength training, 10-15 bike miles
                          SATURDAY--Arms strength training, 2 mile tempo run
                          SUNDAY--6 to 8 mile run

                          It varies depending on if class is cancelled or if I have extra time or if I'm out of town. Generally if something changes, I'll add more running time. I started running in January, and this month I've been trying to run at least 15 miles a week, but I'd like to be running at least 20 per week. Monday-Friday, I work out after work, usually around 6pm. On the weekends I workout late morning/early afternoon.

                            Started Atkins on December 8th, 2005

                            Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

                            Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
                            Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

                            so:

                            01/04/10 ~ 229.0
                            01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
                            (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)

                              A tempo run is a run that's shorter than your normal distance and it focuses on speed (tempo is Italian for speed). So you push yourself to run faster (but a speed you can maintain for the whole time) for the entire run. It's basically a fancy term for a running faster than you normally would. Since I started doing them, my "normal" distance speed has increased. Fartlecks (Swedish for speedplay) also help with speed. On my tempo runs I try to go 7mph or better.

                                Oh my goodness, I haven't been checking in here at all. Oops! Looks like everyone is doing great. Julie, your workout schedule when spelled out like that is impressive. I mean, it's not Lyssie's -- but still not too shabby.
