Hello everybody,
I'm here with my weekly update. Kinda mixed numbers but overall they were down I gained .75 inches in my chest area, I'm hoping it cause i'm lifting weight and not my man boobs getting bigger . Other then that I drop 2 inches in other parts of my body so once I do my fancy math .. That's puts me at -1.25 inches <---not pleased but will take it. As far as pounds I dropped 4. I hope everyone is doing well!!

I decided I am not going to weigh in this week. I am feeling really bloated and blah and think TOM is going to start any day. So.... I don't want to depress myself & am gonna wait for next week.

Total loss: -.4 lbs and -4 in. (7-8-07 my inches were -5.75 in instead of -4 in)
I only lost .4 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm going to keep going up the rungs but go back down to 20 carbs. I've been at 25 carbs for a week. What do you all think? I also started weight training 7-10-07, 3 days a week.

I think you're converting fat to muscle which weighs more! you're losing inches though and you'll start seeing the wt come off soon... I doubt you should cut back on carbs... you may lose more if you move up the OWL rungs... that's what i think, for what it's worth.

Purple, don't back down on carbs. Look at that--you LOST 4 INCHES!! That means your body is doing a SUPER job of burning fat. Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat--a pound of muscle weighs as much as a pound of fat--the difference is that muscle is DENSER than fat, meaning that pound fits into a MUCH smaller area. That is why we often see inches lost when the scale fails to register a change in our "weight." The scale can't differentiate between fat and muscle, all in can measure is gravity's pull on mass.
So if you are losing inches AND pounds like you did this week, there's no reason to go back down. In fact, if you want, you should move UP 5g of carbs. So, my advice: Stay on your current rung and add 5g more carbs this week, OR, go up a rung, and stay at 25g carbs. Don't do both in the same week. OWL is scientific, and it's important to have only one variable at a time.
