        19 Days and still I am resisting the lure of the scale ... but it's getting more difficult by the day, I must admit ... my clothes say I'm losing but I want to see those dang numbers!!! The voices in my head are getting harder to ignore!

          norah, are you trying to just be scale free to break the dependency or you just really want to see how long you can go?

          i'm 6 days scale free. my eating has been horrid this week. between dental work and physical work, it just has not been good. i don't know if i even want to weigh tomorrow.

            Truthfully, Jo, it's probably 50/50 ... I really don't want to get hung up on the scale thing, but I'm also having a little competition with myself ... and, let's face it, if I can hold out 'til the end of the month, there should be a bigger "bang!" Those pound here/pound there losses are a little depressing ... but 6, 8 even 10 lbs at a clip? NOW you're talking!

            Ouch, dental work! My sympathies, dear lady ... well, not every week can be golden, right? You can only do what you can do. Anyway, you'll make up for it later ... no worries!

                norah, i've had my days of sitting and doing 'not much'. way to much of it. i am really enjoying getting out of the house and working. it's been a good thing for me.
                i hear ya on the pounds here and there. i've lost the same few pounds about 20 times, i think, and it can get depressing. i wish i would have spent my losing days thinking total health instead of numbers.

                i just didn't feel like weighing yesterday so i didn't. today is day 8 scale free.

                  OK, today makes 21 days without a weigh-in ... still holding out for Friday the 31st and holding my breath for a big whoosy; psychologically, it would be such a boost!

                    Hi Gang,
                    I didnt make it until the end of the month . I had tried on a pair of pants that had been loose and they were suddenly tight. It turns out I had gained 7 pounds. . In researching all my foods I found that my husband had bought a different marinara sauce. I usually buy Colavita which has no sugar and makes a wonderful base for barbeque sauce, ketchup and cocktail sauce. the store was out so DH purchased Bertolli pasta sauce...all natural. It states it has less than one gram of sugar which is a lie! It contains carrot juice concentrate.....naturally filled with sugar. He made me this beautiful meal of Chicken with peppers and onions in sauce and it was so yummy I portioned it to last over a few days so I kept eating the poison throughout the week. Hence my 7 pound gain. I am back on track and eating right. I will re-weigh on October 31.

                      Well today was weigh in day and I was hoping for a loss but nervous because I have moved to the dairy rung and am eating homemade 10% fat yogurt with some of the whey strained (Greek yogurt). I eat a cup of it for one meal mixed with 1/2 tsp. instant decaf, 1 tsp cocoa powder and a bit of stevia. I LOVE it and it is so thick and filling. Well last week I was 265.8 (which I rounded down to 265 . Today I had to use my old non digital scale because the $80 digital one doesn't work. They do weigh about the same usually though so I wasn't too worried, I just wouldn't know my weight to the decimal place!
                      So I stepped on the scale. 270. What the *$@%?? How did I gain 5 pounds in a week when I only changed one thing. I stepped on the scale again and wiggled around a bit, 270. Well so much for my yogurt! Then I looked closer. That isn't 270 it's 260!! Wow, I lost basically 6 pound in a week. I hate that scale for giving me a heart attack but you know, my yogurt tasted pretty darn good for breakfast!

                              COME ON FRIDAY!!! ...day 4, can hardly stand it right now - been burnin hot with energy lately, don't want to let it get to my head though that the work is starting to pay off well, finally. Mom finally got around to fixing a zipper & button on a favorite pair of slacks of mine as a favor, which she'd been putting off since June. She said she did it since "I'm getting so skinny".

                              THEY ARE NOW TOO BIG!!!

                                this day, wednesday, makes day 10 and i don't have time to weigh. i'll stick with a sunday weigh in. i might not be in here after that. the whole point for me was to get back to concentrating on my woe but with the dental problems, that has been off kilter about 1/2 notch. but the couple of weeks will have served it's purpose.
