Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

As of yesterday, I'm down to 158.8 lbs.

    Congrats for the pound, cruisergal!

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Hope your feeling better cruisergal! I've been fighting migraines but have been able to get a little bit of exercise in. I also finally got to the store and was able to buy everything 100% in line with induction (previously I got the "acceptable veggies" thing mixed up even though I was staying within the 20 carb limit). So it feels like I'm really just "starting" now!

            Hi Fellow Carb Kickers

I really want to join this challenge of keeping it real through the Holidays. Back in July when I started this life change I had hoped to be down to 195 by New Years. I dont know what my weight is at present as I am doing the No Scale for October personal goal in the Halloween challenge. I wont be weighing in until October 31st, hopefully not for the FRIGHT of my life....LOL.
FOr now my only goal for this challenge will be a "no cheat" goal! I will post my weight loss goal on November 1st.
            Very cool thread!

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Hi everyone!! This is a great idea! I agree that the holidays can be a really hard time to lose and find time to workout but we can share ideas and HEALTHY holiday recipes and help each other not get sabotaged and succeed with the goals that we've set!

My goal is to be down 10 lbs and to be MUCH stronger at the beginning of this year. I aim to SERIOUSLY step up my cardio and my strength training thanks to gman and my new stability ball that I bought, and to remember to only weigh once a week so I don't start obsessing again!

We can do this...a better YOU in 2009? On YEAH, baby!!

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Can I join this challenge too. I've been comfort eating like crazy since my husband died in July so have put some of my weight back on. I started at weight watchers 3 weeks ago and nothing has happened. In fact I was craving sweet stuff like crazy. So since Thursday last week I have been low carbing .. yey and the scales have shown that I have lost about 3 pounds so far. So I'm very happy. I would like to get under 200 pounds by New Year so my goal would be to lose 21 pounds by New Year. It does seem rather a lot but I do want to go for it.

What do you reckon .. ??

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

My weight loss goal was shot by weight lifting. I have been in the gym 6 nights a week for a while now. I just updated my ticker to show I am up from 211 to 219. Not bad though considering my starting weight was higher with less muscle.
My Plan: I will do lower weights and more cardio, plus of course the stability ball
I'll lose 15 pounds by New Year's Day.
Any more is just mushrooms on the steak!

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Hi everyone, I'm away for just 1 day, and there are all these new people joining us! How great! This will be a wonderful support group for us all.

Georgina: Good for you! You'll be in a size 8 in no time at all!

APilgrim: Thx, & I am finally feling better, so I can get back to my workout regime, that I have actually been missing. I too get migraines periodically, though, and they're not fun at all. Good luck on you new start. Just keep moving forward, and do not look back at all.

gman: welcome to our group, an I'm sure you will be that lean, mean fighting machine that you want to be in the New Year. You have been doing so well, so there's no stopping you now! And of course you realize, that by doing all that weight lifting, you are building muscle, and muscle weigh more, hence the weight gain. Re-arranging you workouts will help balance things out more.

D3anna: welcome to you as well, and remember, stick to your plan and you should be at your mini goal by the end of the year.

Razzle39: Welcome to the group and my hat's off to you for being part of the no scale challenge! Looking forward to hearing your results Nov 1.

rhiannonwins: nice that you are part of our group too. Sharing ideas and helping eachother attain our goals is what we're all about.

Shirley3010: welcome, and of course you can join our challenge! Losing 21 lbs from now till Dec 31 is attainable, as long as you are focussed and continue to exercise as much as possible.

Looks like we have a great group going here. I look forward for us to share in our challenges and successes.

I am in. I will be 15 pounds lighter on Jan 1. Just got my zumba dvds and hope to start them tomorrow. Thanks gman for encouraging me! As you can see I have been lazy lately with challenges.

Debie: Welcome to the group. Your 15 lbs will melt away by January 1st.

I was very tired today, but I forced myself to do a workout, and I'm sure glad I did. I felt so much better after, sweat & all, though my body is aching a bit! Guess I just need a good nights sleep.

I am glad i came across this. I have a big event coming up first week of december. That gives me about 7 weeks from today. My goal is to lose 20 lbs by then. I really need some motivation from people in the same boat as me. I am up for this challenge!!

                                Hello everyone,

Well I have had my weigh in (I go to weight watchers with my daughter every Tuesday .. now just for the weigh in - I only lost 1 pound in 3 weeks on that diet) and I'm down 5.5 pounds .. yey That is not a full week's weight loss as I started last Thursday so only 5 days in. This truely is a miracle diet. I now feel that maybe I can lose the 16 pounds remaining in my challenge.
