Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Tania, I can understand your frusteration with the lack of weightloss. And I'm sorry that you becoming frusterated...BUT as I'm sure what everyone else will tell you, meausre yourself too. It's not always about the pounds that come off. How do you feel, how are your clothes fitting you.

I lose the wieght very slow too. I lose less than 2 pounds per week. And I know it gets frusterating when you read peoples posts that say they lose 2 pounds over night every other night (though I am happy for them), but the upside is because I'm losing it so slowly the better chance I have on keeping it off. And ultimatly that is my main goal. So try and find the upside to what is going on with your body , because if you don't you may fall off the wagon.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of you water, and also I've found that if "things" aren't moving out of my body as fast as I'm putting the food in....I tend to hold on to a little more weight too, until things move out, ya know..lol.

Hang in there doll. Things will work out for you.

I'm not going to be able to report my weight loss for five and a half weeks still. Things are getting a bit difficult for me. Today it will be just me and my kids, as my husband must return back to work today. So I'm not too sure how I'm going to eat anything else besides celery with cream cheese and salad untill the hubby gets home from work.

I'm doing my best to eat what I can force myself to, I'm trying really hard to keep my calories and protein up...but I'm not sure if it's working out too well.

To stand is HORRID and to walk with the walker isn't that fun either. I only get out of the bed when I have to use the bathroom. I won't even try and sit on the couch to watch TV because my knee hurts way too much. I'm taking Percocets (2 pills) every 4 hours and I'm not sure if it really helps with the pain or not . I'm not willing to not take them to find out though. I'm going to give me a few more days before I call the doctor to find out when the pain is suppose to start easing up.

My surgery was on Thursday so I guess I should give it about a week I suppose.

I hope everyone else is doing well on their weightloss goals.
    Hugs ~

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Thanks MissLiss4u! I will stay put and keep exercising everyday. Hopefully the scale will go down. I do drink a lot of water (almost 3 liters everyday and running to bathroom every half hour). It has almost become an obsession with me to wake up every morning to check ketostix and then weighing myself. Is that a normal thing....or does eveyone go through it?
As for you, since you had a surgery do not stress yourself so hard. Your body needs to recover and according to me that should be your first priority. Please eat healthy till you get back to normal. Hope you feel and become "normal" soon!

Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Thank you Tania. I too would pee on the stick every morning and weigh myself. But the more I did that the more discurraged I got. I had my son hide both the scales from me, lol. It was nice weighing in only once a week because that just over one pound lost would look alot better than .1 or nothing at all the days I was doing it every day. I would try and weigh yourself no more than once per week. And only pee on the stick when you feel you may have got knocked out of ketosis, otherwise hang in there .

Though recovering is way up there for me, I am determined to stay on Atkins forever, lol. It would be too easy for me to give up now because it would be convinent for me to eat potato chips or a sandwhich in bed, lol. I've always had an injury or illness occur while on diets before, and always used them as a way "out". But I won't do it this time because I'm worth the extra effort. My family is worth it, and this way I know that I am truly giving it my all.

                Miss Liss,
A speedy recovery and I am praying you are pain free soon. Good job keeping up with your calories. I know you can do it. I was a Rehab Nurse for 6 years and some people never need more than a tylenol and others are in excrutiating pain. Its all individual. I will say that on average 5 days post-op people would report the pain decreasing. Hang in there girlfriend!

                          Hey There!
How is everyone doing? I took a peak on the scale and lost 2 more pounds since Friday...Woot! Woot!
It is a rainy, nasty cold day here in NC. I normally walk for exercise and they are predicting 3 days straight of this icky weather.
What does everyone else do for exercise? I feel like a bum if I dont get some form of cardio in for the day.

Right on Razzle! My exersize right now is getting out of bed to go to the bathroom, lol. BUUUUT if I were able to move I would walk up and down the stairs (if you have them) or you can just do laps around your living room. You can make it sort of a fun challange too. Watch a program and durning commercial do laps around your living room and or kitchen dinning area. Count how many laps you do and then durning the next commercial beak try and beat your last number by 2 laps or something like that.

Good luck, and try sending some of your rain my way

Thats a pretty cool idea....I was thinking along the same lines. I used the bottom step as a stepper and let me tell ya......thats a workout. i got the idea from The Biggest Loser show.

Oh...the bathroom ....you must cringe everytime you need to go....you poor babe! How is the knee doing?

Hai guyz! Another 2 lbs., Razzle? .... awesome! Aw, Liss, I feel for your pain ... wish the Whoosy Fairy could help you with that.

Will be weighing again Saturday ... dunno, I've felt kinda bloated this week; too much salt, probably. Oh well, I'll be happy if I haven't gained anything !

We've gone from record low temps to record highs in the past couple of weeks ... crazy weather. Sometimes we have the heat on in the morning and the air conditioner in the afternoon ... CRAZY !

Speaking of exercise, if I had the room, I'd get my own treadmill since that's mostly what I use at the gym. But our house is small and I can't leave it on the porch ... too humid. Bummer. It does seem stupid to fork out $30 a month for a gym when I could buy a good treadmill for less than $300. Well, I'm committed to a year's membership, so next fall I'll see what I can do to squeeze one of those mechanical beasties into my tiny abode .

                                HUGS!
