  • Re: New YOU in the New Year's Challenge

Never mind that Razzle, just keep your eyes on your goal and move forward. I find the holidays so stressful that oddly enough, that's when I eat the least (very out of character, let me tell you).

Razzle, I'm so sorry about your hiccup, but very proud that you're re-motivated.

I think the 10 pounds is because one when I'm in pain my heart rate is way up (calories burning) and because I use the walker, therefore I have to pick up almost my 300 pound butt every step I take to "hop" on my good leg. So though I'm not moving much, my moving does count, lol.

I Cheated with the stuffing too I had an upset on Wednesday and started stress eating. I ate enough for a family of 5 I am up 6 pounds from last week.....UGH!

So today is a new day, and I am re- commited! I went to the movies last night and had no popcorn or drink and didnt even miss it...so on the upside there is one habit I kicked.

I am going to make a carb friendly turkey soup today and some turkey salad. I am also going to hit the YMCA and work it!
Sorry you had a stressful holiday, hon. BUT, we both could do a lot of mental beating up on oursevles ... total waste of time and energy! Today's a new day ... the first day of the rest of our lives, actually, so I like your "balls to the wall" attitude ... back in the saddle and let's get on with it! My kind of gal !

Hi Liss, hi Sookie, hi everyone!

My little "toot" last week did cost me in the loss department ... only 1 lb. in the past two weeks. But I intend to do MUCH better before the next weigh-in on the 15th (even though I'll have a birthday before then and normally would treat myself to a banana split ... maybe I'll stick a candle in some smoked salmon, or something ) On the plus side, I am down 30 lbs. from Aug. 1 ... 17 more to go until my goal of 140 Yay for Atkins!

              Hey everyone!

I haven't checked in since I joined this challenge so here I am! I intended on starting on the 13th but that did not end up happening. But I started fresh this morning and I've eaten perfect all day so far. I'm so excited to start seeing results!

Chelsey and MelGirl ~ I hope to see more of you ladies here, best of luck to the both of you in obtaining your goals.

So I took a bath AND slept in my own bed last night! Making it up the stairs was quite the work out, but I made it up on my butt, lol.

I have not been eating as many salad veggies as I ought to be eating. I'm not too sure how to fix that until I can start making my own meals again... hopefully just 2 weeks and 2 days before I can attepmt to walk with two legs again, lol.

                HUGS all!!!

Amazingly, I am down another 3 pounds, with no clue why! I cheated a bit on Thanksgiving with a few things and by all rights should be the same weight at least, but I guess I got lucky.

So 7 more to go to hit 200, and anything below that will make me officially below the 200 mark. I am working out more now with walking on a treadmill every other day for 30 minutes. When I can take more of it I will increase my walking speed and time, and all of you here are so inspirational to me.

I felt so good when I put on a smaller size pair pf jeans, the 19 pounds I've lost so far have made a really visible difference. My girls noticed on Thanksgiving, and my oldest might be trying Atkins too soon. She saw her doctor just before turkey day and was informed she was now officially obese, so she really wants to get her BMI down to a better level before it gets too far out of control. Fortunately, she isn't a junk food addict, and not a sweets junkie either.

On my wish list for things to find to add to my diet are a no carb ice cream. I really wish sometimes I could have something like that since for at least the next 6 months a sorbet is out of the question. Has anyone tried making their own at home? I've seen a lot of small ice cream makers in the stores, and have been thinking of giving one a try if I can't find a no carb commercial version out there. Homemade might be best anyway, since I eat organic. If anyone has a recipe they like, give it up!!!

Ooooh, you're so ambitious to make ice cream. I'd probably have it eaten before it was ready. I've been craving sweets like nobody's business lately and it's driving me crazy. I have it so bad that I just don't want to eat anything at all if it isn't sweet. I have tried my favorite: sugar free jello and whipped cream and that doesn't even work. Grrr... I just hope it goes away if I don't give in to it.

This is funny, because I've been craving sweets like crazy too! Craving things that I never ate originally like doughnuts (never liked them, but now I want one or a dozen). But I've not taken one bite of any no-no's.

GonnaGetThin. I'm happy to see you here and happy the wooshie stopped by your place. As far as low carb ice cream the only place I've seen recipes is on Linda's Low Carb recipe page. She had a few different ones there. I've personally not tried any of them yet because I haven't been able to. You don't make any of them with an ice cream maker, just ice cube trays if I remember right. Anyhow, let us know if you try one of the recipes please. =)

I went to my second p.t appointment yesterday. It was painful but good. I can bend my knee 100 degrees now and I completed all the tasks that were given to me. My p.t is going to call my doctor to see if I could maybe start putting minimal weight on my leg =) How exciting!!!!

I'm going to try and stand on the scale again tomorrow morning =)
                            Hugs ~
