cheat free 33 days -- I can't believe I've actually been on this WOE for 33 days...it feels like this is the only way I've ever eaten!!

I know what Sunny means....this can't be "diet" food!!! I found a recipe for Cream Cheese muffins that I made today -- it tasted a little like little bit of heaven! Not too sweet but just enough that I sat here and smiled! My mom ask me what was wrong -- I told her nothing and had her try half the muffin - she liked it (huge shock). When they cooled down we split another. So much happiness and only 2 net carbs - it's almost sinful!!! LOL

Well, I blew it last night. Had boneless spareribs that you get from the Chinese restaurant... oooh evil spareribs! I never realized how salty they were before and of course there was clearly some sugar in the sauce. I haven't even bothered to see if I was still in ketosis. This morning I have a headache and I suspect it was from those dang ribs. Well, learned my lesson, and back on Atkins.

You would think you could find something healthy at a hospital to eat, of all places, but they have the worst junk of anywhere.

Last winter I left home at 4:00 a.m. for a two hour drive to MCV in Richmond for my brother's very long surgery. He was in surgery for 13 hours and then I stayed a while until he woke up before going home. I was awake and away from home for almost 24 hours. I packed some stuff in a small cooler and took water, but was thinking I could get some food at the cafeteria. Boy was I wrong. Bacon was the only thing that I could eat at breakfast. Not a thing at lunch. They stopped serving in the cafeteria very early and after that it they had a bunch of fast food places: McDonald's, Chic-fil-A, a bagel place, Starbuck's, Krispie Cream and so on. This is a huge teaching hospital, for Pete's sake.

UVA, where I have to spend way too much time, is nearly as bad. I always pack food because I am there for several hours usually. I once, in 2006, was a patient for over a month. I was so close to Onederland (203 lbs.) when I was admitted and I was determined to stay on Atkins. I did it, but I about starved in the process. I ate 2 bacons and 2 scrambled eggs every morning and for 14 meals in a row I had a baked chicken breast and green beans without any seasoning or butter. They wanted me to go on high carb, but I refused. Soooo...they just pumped me full of glucose.

Have I mentioned how bad I hate hospitals?
