I didn't really know much about the religion till I read some of the links. I started out just wanted to vent my hormones at Tom-lol and now I am kind of freaked out after reading what all these stars are really into. Even John Travolta. :no

For me this is all very personal because of my brother being involved with it. My family has some issues and my brother seems to think that this is the key. They've put it into his head that he can help his family and other people in this world. They've discouraged him from going to any kind of college and now he's living off of them in their mission in Clearwater, Fl. away from his family. He says he'll be gone for at least a year studying to become an auditor. We're all very worried about him.

After what I learned in high school and even some more stuff in those links I can completely understand why. It seems like they involve themselves in every aspect of people's lives. But then, when you do that with anyone it makes it easier to control them. Scary. Hugs to you, I hope your brother eventually escapes before they destroy his financial life. edited to add: and his connections with his family.

The real issue here is what does Dianetics say about lo-carb?
I guess it's OK with me if they support lo-carbing but otherwise I'm going to stick to Atkinsnetics, or the Church of Atkinstology.

Or better yet, the House of ADBB, the "moderators" of which have paid huge sums of money to be "in charge" and to be able to tell us how to run our lives.

I think I'm going to forgo moving to Colorado and use the money from selling the house to join Scientology.. I want to meet some aliens or at least have my alien soul taken out, I think thats whats causing my wisdom teeth to grow in all weird. I'm a good follower too.. I know you guys are all in good fun and that's fine. Besides, joking around makes me feel a bit better. My favorite morning show (Kidd Kradick) grew up in Clearwater, Fl. (their headquarters), and he's always making jokes and stuff and I feel good knowing most people see the cult that it is. I just hope Ethan comes to his senses one day. I feel luck he still e-mails me from time to time.

Have to throw support behind this... My best friend had PPD so bad, I almost moved to her state to keep her from killing herself and her kids, and her husband (who I have learned, slowly, over the years to appreciate) was a rock, both for her, and her kids.. she wouldnt have made it without him. He finally pushed her into getting help, but she wouldnt have on her own, she should just "be able to deal with it"... and kept at it. She is a million times better now... thanks to him.

Not ALL guys are awful.. just the ones I get involved with :sarcasm ...

Actually, I think it's too bad Tom Cruise has aligned himself with Scientology because I think he has some valid points in what he's saying about depression and how we're being over prescribed medications. He has mad recent comments about Ritalin, too. I think it is being over prescribed for our children, turning them into little zombies and all the while SAT scores are going down. I've read about some parents having good success by making adjustments in their children's diets. You know, like cut out the sugar! Perhaps that's part of what's making them hyper.

Personally I think that meds are prescribed too quickly and too often but you're not going to hear about that anywhere because there's too much money to be made by the drug companies.

I really agree with you on the children being over medicated. I had a lot of people trying to convince me that my oldest son had ADHD and I and my husband told them to go to h...e...double hockey sticks. Turns out he's autistic. No meds can help that. On the flip side I have TMD and have had extra pain since I stopped smoking. In my sleep I'm grinding my teeth so badly it's waking my husband. Which is odd because I'm very content with no cigarettes when I'm awake. I had to request a refill of Oxycodone sooner than I thought because of the pain I'm waking up with. I messaged my doctor and told him why and he authorized the re-fill. I'm so happy with becoming a non-smoker but I guess my sub-consious (sp?) is trying to catch up.
