  • Hey East Coasters

You'all ready for the out of the South Winter Storm that is heading our way today?

We are supposed to get 4 - 8 inches of snow before it quits tomorrow morning.

I love snow, so in a few hours I'm gonna wanna head for home and play in it.

Yep, I'm lining up my snow shovels for my cardio work-out tonight (if we get any during the day) and tomorrow morning. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as they're predicting.

Hey JSJ I'm by DC too.

I about 50 miles south and we are supposed to get more than DC and Maryland. Can't wait. Get lots of good pictures with the little one.

We normally get the ATVs out and attached a ski rope to the back of the ATV and the other end to a sled..go to the snow covered pasture and have a heck of a good time! Just as long as one doesn't tumble off into the frozen cow pies! LOL

        Yep its ah-coming!

They said DC and points north will get 1-2 inches, but the southern suburbs will get 4-6 inches....lucky ducky me, I live in the south.....

It's not that I don't like snow, it's just that I don't like the morons around here who can't drive in it (or for that matter, any other time of year). Many of the roads where I live were old "farm-to-market" roads, so they are winding, and somewhat narrow. Too many people think you can drive on those roads safely at 45 mph at all times.

              Re: Hey East Coasters

Jsj, then you know EXACTLY which roads I'm talking about. I don't know if it's the rapid development in the area and too many "city" folk are moving in or if people just don't know how to drive, but for some reason, people think a long, winding country road that goes miles without a traffic light is a leg on the Indy 500. Even roads with regular lights, like 301 in Waldorf, are a horror!

Thankfully, I have enough food and essentials that I don't have to visit a supermarket today. I was at Giant and Shoppers early yesterday morning and both stores were madhouses.

I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, and they "don't know" whats going to happen. We may get 4 inches, or we may get nothing at all. Gotta love a forecast like that! I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I do love the snow, so I'm hoping we get some.

I live off the east coast of lake ontario in NY and we received 18"-24" just over the weekend!!!!!!!!!!

The lakes are still warm from summer and when the cold air from Canada rushes over them it creates "lake effect" snow. So far this year we are already up to 30".

I am sooo glad I hired a plow service this year.

We're getting rain (although we really really need it, rainy mondays suck! ) but its susposed to turn to sleet this evening, they're saying no accumulation at all for us...I want 2 feet of snow! That way I'll get a day or two off work!

((((not2late))))) I completely agree. 301 is a mad house, and so is 5. You know where Poplar Hill Road is???? They are CRAZY on that road.

They're also nuts on Acton Road, La Plata Road and Indian Head.

I just finished watching the noon news as I ate my lunch. They're predicting 3-5 inches in DC and up to 8 in the south, but the temperature is still too warm for snow. And the local counties are closing school 2 hours early. Bah.

OMG, Acton is nuts. I avoid that road at all costs. People just don't know how to drive period. On the backroad, especially Middletown, they stay in close to the left line, and then when a car comes at them, they jump all the way to the right. It's crazy. JUST STAY IN THE MIDDLE !! JEEEZZZZ.
