    Re: Hey East Coasters

Wow JSJ that was sad about the little boy and his sister.

We don't ride the ATV with a sled on the road, but rather in our pasture. No trees or cars, just frozen horse turds and cow pies.

Welcome to Western New York...... it is called lake effect and we get it constantly. About 10 miles south of me has 2 feet and another foot or more hitting today.
This is a picture off my dining room, our back deck and looking out to the gazebo. This is from two years ago, but not uncommon at all.

Oh Man, I miss NY. I live on Staten Island and we always got slammed. It was so much fun though, b/c we'd have HUGE snowball fights at the bus stops.l They aren't like here though. They dismissed early and there was no snow on the ground! In NY, we went to school w/ chains on the bus tires. It was so much fun though...

The story is very sad. I don't know why an adult wouldn't think of the possibility of a car sliding, after all, it was snowing and icy...it's just so sad.

Mrslee, I'm glad that your only danger are cowpies!!! WATCH OUT!!!!

Peeeyewwww I can smell them here!

It is cold and rainy here now...the weather forecast is for rain and sleet getting progressively worse during the course of the evening.

I went out and got the snow pants and gloves. My poor kids froze this week for the first one. They are so excited b/c this one should be more inches. Bring it on.
