Beautiful dogs and cats all! Here are our 5 lovelies in order of acquisition. All were rescued either from neglectful/cruel owners or the local shelter. Marmie was abandoned when the neighbours at the back moved house, he was just 8 months old and it was winter in Canberra and -7 (Celsius) at night.

I'll have to put this in 2 posts, the system is saying too many pictures.

Zoe, our Himalayan Queen of the roost. She is aged between 21 and 23, former owner was not sure. This is her Queen Victoria pose because she is definitely not amused. Raymond had tried to play with her tail! We call it the plume because it long, full and feathery.



Marmaduke; a 5 year old marmalade tabby, and the nicest natured cat I've ever known. Here he is on Warwick's shoulder, he slept there for abnout 45 mins and poor W had a numb arm!



Fan Fan: a long haired tortoiseshell about 13-15. A loner but a very affectionate girl.

PART 2.


Raymond: 3 year old mostly Oriental cream tabby. His nicknames are rambunctious (for his behaviour) and sunction hose ( for his appetite!). He looks angelic here but it never lasts long.



Zafira: a seal point Siamese about 5-6 years old. Her nickname is zoomin' Zafira as she has 2 speeds, laying down and zooming!

I can't resist an opportunity to show pictures of my two lovelies in their favorite places!

Red is a rescue we flew to BC from Texas, shown at the river in the sunshine.



Blue we got from an aussie breeder as a puppy about a year later. She is a snuggler and her favorite pillow is her "sister".

Awww shucks I am a sucker for PETS, of all kinds. But I jsut bought a pppy tonight. He is just 2 almost 3 weeks so he wont be hoem for a bit. My best friend bought his sister!Then, I had My Best Friend, For 12 yrs That I had to put down last week, the tears are still flowing--

It is sooo hard ...

all of you ..how nice to sit here this morning and look at your darling dogs and cats what is wonderful to me is how many have been rescued!!!!

my dog was a rescue as well she was adopted from the Pitbull Project in Seattle ..a wonderful place that rescues and fosters abandonded bully dogs...they temperment test them before they are released to adoptive owner/parents ..and the people adopting are interviewed in their homes to make sure you have an enclosed yard.. decent living arrangements (in the house) ect ...

I love these people ...but more than that I love JuJube she is a darling dog

Heidi, I love your pup, I just wanna hug her lil face!
BJS, those lab kids are so tough to lose. I put mine down in 94 and I still get weepy thinking of her.

Oh your cherry shrimp is so cool. Is that salt water? The only shrimp I've have were fresh water and they were teeny tiny and we used to buy them for food for the fish. They were so cool to watch!

MOG, Im not talented or patient enough to do saltwater. Its freshwater only for this girl! The cherries are in a planted 20G long tank. They do stay pretty small so theres no fish in there but they are a riot to watch.

Thanks Heidi! Shes my lil rescue girl and i spoil her perfectly rotton. She was half starved and neglected when I took her in so she and I fought over her eating for a long time. It makes me smile to see her lil piggy face covered in food now when I had to force feed her before. (coincidentally, I use her lil food covered face for my food journal LOL)
