I hate pumping my own gas. Honestly, I avoid it at all costs! When I grew up in South Jersey, it was illegal to pump your own gas.

I put my own petrol in my car (now thats better), I am not sure if there are any petrol pumps now that arent self service. In england anyway.

its a huge 40 ounce bottle of beer.

In Canada it's a 40 oz bottle of liquor (despite the fact we are metric). the next size down we call a '26'er' and the smaller one we call a 'mickey' . I don't think we have 40oz bottles of beer? that would be a big beer!

Last week i pulled the pump out too soon and spilled gas all down my jeep. I'd rather have someone else do it as well, however we have very few full serve stations anymore.

It's funny, the kids saw a "Back to the Future" movie not that long ago and were astonished to see the gas station jockeys flock to the car, check the oil, wash the windshield and actually FIX the car if need be.

Back then, who would have ever thought we would be buying gas at some convenient store where no one there would be able to fix it if it broke down?

Pumping gas is a very crappy activity if you ask me

I almost would have rather had the 40 oz'er ...Rich it is very cheap fortified beer mostly consumed from a bottle in a lovely crumpled brown paper bag while teetering around in public muttering ...you dont have it there?...I have always wondered what it actually tasted like but never had the nerve to try it ..I personally like a good pint of microbrew

oh and did you know if you have cash you have to pay first before the pump works??? there is a slot for cards but not for the cash that is just stupid!!!

you can put cash in a pop or candy machine but not a gas pump I dont get that

That's too funny Sadie, here our beer is in ounces but our liquor is measured in metric. We don't even have full service stations here anymore, the only way someone will pump gas for you is if you're handicapped! Besides when we did have full service they charged you about 12 cents more per gallon than self serve, screw that, I'm not that friggin lazy!

I hate pumping my own gas. I miss the days of the full service gas stations. I don't have a choice but to do it though. Hubby doesn't do it for me. I never minded paying more to have someone else do it.
