  • Fess up time!

ok, PRIOR to changing your WOE and WOL. Let's hear some of the "piggy" stories about how we used to eat!

We were talking about this at Thanksgiving dinner and the confessions of my family were hysterical. Most of them have switched to a lower carb lifestyle now too.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS......... funny never ANY around to make the kids cookies.
yep....... I ate em RIGHT OUT OF THE BAG. Of course when I finally DID make the cookies I only had one or two to bake as I ate most of the dough.

CANNED FROSTING........ we will not even go there.

FROZEN DESSERTS......... yep, those to can be cut and eaten without even defrosting, it was an art I had perfected. Sarah Lee and I had quite a relationship. She was my best friend! And of course NEVER go to the freezer with out a spoon in hand to make sure the ice cream was still fresh tasting.

    ok, let's hear yours!

These are only a few of mine. I am amazed at the things I used to do.

    Oh this could be scary....

Enough at the fast food drive-thrus that I ordered two small drinks so it would look like it was for two people.

An entire bag of M&M's or other candy in one afternoon. I bought it for the candy dish "for visitors". Suuuure I did.

Canned frosting for me too... little sandwiches on Ritz or something.

Ice cream and enough chocolate syrup to make it float.

I should stop... this is depressing and embarassing!

          Re: Fess up time!

My biggest downfall was pizza and cider.

I would have a dominos pizza 2-3 times a week. But not just the pizza, I would also have garlic bread and a starter. (not forgetting a couple of pots of dips for the crusts).

and I would have 24 cans of cider in my fridge at all times, stocking up my fridge constantly.

Great idea of a thread Bren. My life before atkins was shocking! I would never ever drink water ever. How things change.

            Re: Fess up time!

Oh, I have to get in on this one. It's embarassing, but it's also such a relief to know I'll NEVER eat like that again!

Of course, I could eat whole bags of Hershey's Kisses with Almonds in one day. I've been known to do the same with M&M's. Cookie dough? Don't get me started.

I don't doubt that I'm the only crazy person in the world who ate dozens of Girl Scout cookies while doing a Jane Fonda exercise video!

One afternoon, I made a chocolate pie in a graham cracker crust, thinking it would be dessert for DH & me after dinner. Well, I had to just have a sliver, and then another, and another. Pretty soon, I'd eaten so much of the pie, I didn't want DH to know. It would be embarassing. So, I ate the rest of the pie and threw away all the evidence that I'd ever made it. Crazy, huh? But somehow, I know that most of you will understand completely.

            Thank God for low-carb!

              Re: Fess up time!

Hmmm...my boyfriend and I would eat pizza 2-3 times per week, too. We'd split a large pizza and an order of garlic butter breadsticks.

The other nights of the week, we'd go to this Drive-In place and each get 2 cheeseburgers, and an order of curly fries. No wait! We'd order 5 cheeseburgers (so each would get 2.5) and 3 orders of curly fries (so we'd each get 1.5)

Other nights, we'd eat frozen food--a box of taquitos, with some mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers thrown in.

I used to bake cookies ALL the time...I'd eat at LEAST a dozen or two before my boyfriend came home...and I'd rearrange the ones on the cooling sheets to "hide" where the eaten ones had once been...and that doesn't even account for the dough I would eat while baking.

Hmmm...what else? I remember eating 4 king size snickers bars in one day...along with 2 20oz. bottles of diet coke--this was ALL while at work...and I also went and had lunch in the cafeteria which was probably something like potatoes or pasta or bread.

What's amazing is that my BOYFRIEND even notices an improvement in his health and he's not even doing atkins! He's switched to eating grilled meats, cooked veggies, salads with me...yes he still has pizza or hot dogs and chips, but very rarely. He loves the fact that I'm on Atkins because he's healthier, too!

oh Julirama.......... I learned along time ago, the best laughs we have in life sometimes are at ourselves! Then I think we learn how to truly find humor in things.

uuummmmmm.......... I never could figure out how to rearrange those 2 dam cookies I baked to make the cookie sheet even..... so YEP, I ate em.
                  oink oink oink!

LOL, I could sit down and eat a whole gallon of icecream, right out of the box. I still could eat a whole gallon of ice cream, but I don't and hopefully wont.

Rich........ what is Cider? Here it is made of apples, kind of like an unfiltered Apple Juice, but only available fresh in the fall.

Cider is an alcoholic drink served in the same measures as beer. Its apple but alcoholic apple and vert sweet.
