Ughhh, yes we do. I've been down in Los Angeles this past weekend, and have slowly been working my way North. But the Weather has kept me stranded in Redding last night and tonight. Snow to the North of me, snow to the East. The first time I've ever run into chain requirements (have to have them with you to get by the inspections) with a 4x4 truck and snow tires with studs.

Hopefully will be on the road home tomorrow (I wanna go home).

kntry - I've been wondering how you were doing - lots of 'weird weather' in california. Hopefully you will get home soon.

Freezing rain here today, so pretty slick. There have already been numerous accidents around the city. Should be better once it gets light.

Hoping for a calm weekend, have plans to do a little travel [not far] - but will be better if no snow/rain/ice !

Wow, Chains on tires. People used to put them on cars here in Chicagoland when I was a little child before they made great strides in other ways to remove snow and ice, they were later made illegal.

I can't imaging trying to travel without chains or a 4x4 with snow tires. Of course that's my thinking living in a state with lots of mountain roads. No chains and you slide backwards or sideways going uphill, and then slide downhill on the other side, not always in the direction you want. Last winter I did a slow spin out going uphill on the pass, 35 mph with my 4x4 truck with studded snow tires

I finally made it home yesterday afternoon, and 15 minutes later it started to snow again It's been funny though, being high mountain desert, we usually have dry snow, can't even make snowballs with it. This time it's wet, and I can't use the wheelbarrow to feed with, because the snow is sticking and building up on the tires. ~lol~

Sun is shining right now , and everything is gorgeous.

Wow that was quite a trip Kntry. Glad to make it safe. When I lived in the mountain area snow tires and chains were life savers for sure. And yes I can change a tire.

Well I have reported our biting cold weather a few times in this thread but lately we have had shameful mild weather. The kind that make a few wild people here wear shorts which is too funny. We had about minus four Celcius today (that is like 25F)
The downside to all this is very dirty vehicles. I cannot tell what colour my darling Mazda is right now. I wanted my DH to take it in and wash it but he refused. His logic is that - with this weather it will be just as dirty tomorrow. This is now the logic I am using for not showering after my workout.

liv - understand about the dirty vehicles, just washed my car yesterday and it's already full of salt - grrr - bright red, beautiful when clean, but really shows everything.

Very mild here. Some slick roads this morning, but all is dry now. Looks like we may be getting some rain this weekend...hopefully not!

Visiting PA & it has been in the 40's & the sun has been shining. No snow here which freaks me out coming from snowy VT. Birds in the feeders & squirrels running up & down the trees.

Today is the 43rd Anniversary of the worst 24 hr snowfall of 1967--23" in 24 hours. Luckily snow and ice removal systems have improved greatly since then. City was stranded for days.
