  • 5 Minutes of Fame - 2big4mysize!

    To celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of 2big being at ADBB. This weeks 5 minutes of fame is dedicated to her!

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

    ok, I will go first then.

    1) What in your opinion is the strangest food you have ever eaten

    2) If you could play god for the day, what is the biggest change you would make to the Atkins Diet?

        What's your favorite daily "snack"??

        What book or books are you reading for fun/for yourself?

        When you go on vacation, what's your favorite essential vacation only treat? (can be food or other)

          1. How long did it take you to reach your goal with this WOE?
          2. What is your "day" job?
          3. What is your favorite Atkins snack?
          Stats F/34/5'2/SW248/CW?
          Current Stats 47% Body Fat/Goal is 30%
          Not going to be a slave to the scale in 2007!

Okay then I would rewrite DANDR to correct the conflicting info between chapters and put induction as ther last chapter so folk would have to read it all before they start.

              When you Started Atkins did you do it only one time or did ya have to try a few times before you got it right?????

                I don't have typical meals cause from day one I decided to allow my tastebuds and texture wants to rule the meal. My house was only low carb foods so I just opened the frig and grabbed what i wantedandthing from meatsand veggies to flax hotcakes and pumpkinbutter. That worked from day one to goal. I just increasaed the OWL food choices in there as I climbed the rungs.

                Now having to fix for Mother too I'm a bit more traditional with meat and veggies. I love to grill and she loves grilled foods so i fix a grilled meat either chicken, fish, beef, or pork with grilled veggies. tonight we are having grilled pork loin with grilled peppers,onions tomatoes,mixed greens and squash for me sweetpotatoes for her. I mairinate my veggies in a southwest spice and EVOO hers are in corn oil and salt'n'pepper since she doesn't like spicey foods. I'll have some nuts later and she will have her icecream.

                    What are your stats? (you know, height, weight, age, former weight etc).

                    What was a food from your carb days that you have tried in Maintenence and thought "blech why did I like that?"

                    How many carbs do you eat daily in maintenence?

                    (Modified OWL-moving up rungs for convenience when travelling, keeping carbs moderate)
                    Foods I cannot have-
                    Black beans.- instant headache and upset belly.
                    spaghetti squash mixed with tomatoes- ravenous

                        What's your favorite daily "snack"??LOL well if I wanted to weigh 300+ pounds again it would be Meg's chocolate cream as I can't do portion control with it like she can so for me it is almonds

                        What book or books are you reading for fun/for yourself? I actually haven't had time to "read" a book since June cause I can't do chapters I got to read the whole thing. I like to read stuff to solve the mystery before the book does so I like mysteries but lately they are all so gory. and to learn stuff so I was reading the Tipping point and Blink last spring. I have a collection of books on the current treatment of Alzheimer that I'm reading and taking notes on so I can better deal with Mother.

                        When you go on vacation, what's your favorite essential vacation only treat? (can be food or other) Gosh this is hard. I don't really have a vaction only treat cause what i do on vacation is determined by the location the beach is swimming the mountains are hiking and camping. Oh wait I know I don't answer the phone!

                            Not really a question--Why don't you post a before/after pic for us! (haha, sorry, but I find you so mysterious and inspirational. I can't help but wonder.)


                            What part of the Atkins Diet did you find hardest in the first few months that you were doing it?

                            Now that you've been at goal for a while, do you find that people (like new casual acquaintances) even know you're on a diet?
                            No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

How long did it take you to reach your goal with this WOE? this is a trick question cause I actually shot by healthy goal weight not knowing I had added more lean body mass and the BMI and height weight charts didn't recognise body composistion. I was at a healthy 19% body fat way back in Dec of 2003 which would have made it 19 months but I didn't realize it until I got to 14.9% body fat in May 04 and was still 8 pounds above the height weight chart top of the healthy range and still over weight on the BMI chart.

                              2. What is your "day" job? my full time job right now is caring for Mother. She has Alzheimer and needs constant supervision.
