    Yep, I changed my plan up again.

    I am now Doing Tuna Salads and Lettuce for Lunch. I am also going to start Doing salads for Lunch too to change up. Is Ranch Dressing ok? 0 Carb Ranch?

    I stopped the Low Carb Candies and have been feeling fine since I last Posted in here.

    This Tuesday will be the beginning of my 3rd week doing this.

    Also, I been Drinking Coke 0 every now and then along with my Regular water. I think Coke 0 cures the crave for any candy for me.

    Someone above mentioned different water has different tastes. I tried to tell my friend this and he thought I was nuts. I like Poland Spring / Deer Park Water the best Personally. Its even better with Lots of Ice. Its even best in a Real Crystal Glass

    I have not weighed myself yet this week, I figured I would wait till Monday.

      teh coka has caffeine in it try switching to a splenda caffeine free soda like Diet Rite

      why would they have water tasting contests if it all tastes the same. Send your friend to our scout camp and he will never say water tasates the same bleck we even brought out own just to brush our teeth it was so full of sulpher

        Moving in the right direction, Ruben. Well done.

        I found I missed textures more than tastes. "Crunchy" can be got form putting lots of cucumber, radishes and celery in your salads.

          Ruben my man,
          Well done on the watre, told ya! I love Volvic water and am really annoyed if i have to drink other, blander brands.
          Do you like spicy food? If so, I make a gorgeous, red hot stir fry.
          I use Turkey breast fillets, or sometimes beef cut into strips. Anyway, slice em up, stick em in the wok and then add lots of red hot chilli powder to taste.
          Add then whatever you like - I add red peppers, broccoli and mushrooms but u can put in pretty much whatever you want. Add soe soy sauce to taste and then I add loads more chill powder, i like it HOT!
          And voila! What a very tasty and very easy and very healthy meal you've just made.
          Atkins approved and bursting with protein, vitamins and minerals.
          It's what I'm going to make for today and I'll make a huge one so I've enough for a few days. I'll have a bottle of Volvi water with it, try to drink at the very least 1.5Litres per day, but aim for much more. Eating a hot & spicy mean will even help on your water drinking!
          A side effect of Atkins when you start is that you may get "the runs", it'd gross sure, but don't let it put you ogg, get through it, see it a test sent to try your resolve.
          It's just your body adjusting and it will pass. you may even get the opposite problem a few weeks later! That's when the red hot chilli stir-fry will help you again! LOL

            Thanks PresidentHolmes & Labarum. I am not a Spicy guy, but I love flavorable foods. I am going to look into Stirfrys.

            Today I weighed myself and I am Still at 489 I did not lose any weight this week and I got real discouraged. I even stopped eating Candies this Week and and Started Doing Tuna Salad mixed with Celery on Lettuce for Lunches. I haven't changed my Breakfast or Dinner menu from above. This week I pretty much had steak for dinner every night (different cuts).

            A Couple Questionable things at dinner...

            Horse Radish Cocktail sauce for Shrimps (Is this High Carbs?) I looked at cocktail Sauce in the Super Market and it says 0 carbs.

            Prime Rib Beef (is this ok?) Had it one night this week.

            Steamed Lobster Tail with Butter?

            Had a Salad 1 night with a Little Ranch this week, is Ranch low Carbs?

            Chicken Is Good, but is fried chicken ok too if it's not breaded?
            Like Fried chicken wings with no Hot Sauce?
            Has anyone tried the Fried Chicken Wings Appetizer at Outback? Is this Bad?

            A Lime in Water, Is this a No, No? I like a lime slice in my water.

              I know its easier said than done Ruben but try not to be discouraged. Everyone loses differently. I can go several weeks without losing and over the course of a few days lose 6 or 7# all of the sudden. So hang in there and as long as you are following the program the weight will come off.

              Also, you should take your measurements. There will be times when you begin to lose your resolve because the scales arent showing any loss BUT you will be losing inches.

              Every product is different. You have to go by the label on the actual product you are consuming. I stay away from cocktail sauce mainly because I havent found a low carb one. But I havent looked all that hard so there may be one out there.

              Mmmmm, Im hungry now! Prime rib is wonderful.......... as long as you arent dipping it in ketchup or anything.

              Absolutely you can have lobster with butter.

              Had a Salad 1 night with a Little Ranch this week, is Ranch low Carbs?

              Ranch tends to naturally be low in carbs. Once again, just check the labels before you eat anything.

              Fried hotwings with hot sauce is a staple for many low carbers. I have never been to the Outback so cant vouch for their appetizers. Are they breaded? If they are then Im pretty sure they are not legal for you.

              A Lime in Water, Is this a No, No? I like a lime slice in my water.

              I slice lemon in mine. Sometimes I have just had enough plain water and need a little flavor to it.

                Hi Ruben

                Congratulations on your losses so far
                My step father was 500lbs a couple of years ago, he found that making Atkins friendly sauces helped him a great deal to stay off the sweets especially late night. He lost around 250lbs and is slowly working at it still. He is a chef and still found this sauce recipe to be great for atleast 4-5 meals a week.
                He said the first month was the hardest but after that he kept himself busy and only thought about food when it came to meal times. He said he just had to keep himself prepared and at the worst having lo carb burger patties 1g carb each and cheese slices on hand to snack on. The george forman grill also made life alot easier for him.

                As a base he would make a simple cheese sauce:

                1-2 people

                med- low heat on stove ( you dont want to boil the cream)
                1 1/2 Teaspoon butter - melt in small pot
                add
                3 Tablespoons cream - runny ( I'm not sure what you call it over there, heavy cream? notwhipped)

                Tasty Cheese - (or whatever cheese that will melt into a sauce but not go clumpy)
                Add as much as you like, I usually add 1 or 2 cups or so depending on how much I had through the day. Blue cheese is really nice too.

                Heat slowly stiring together until thickens

                You can then add anything you like to it, herbs, cut some tomatoe into it, blue cheese, tomatoe paste, anything within reason.It's abit of trial and error but you get there after a couple of goes.

                Just keep in mind that if you don't drain the veggies properly the sauce will go abit watery once mixed together or with veggies or on your plate. He has this sauce with chicken, any meat, or thickened for a pizza sauce

                So most meals have a sauce now, even when he hasn't got much in the cupboard he will make sausages or whatever, beans and cheese and tomatoe sauce and dosen't feel hungry till the next morning. I did the sauce thing and lost 16kg in 2 1/2 months, have another 10 to go and it worked for me.

                  Don't get discouraged. Some weeks you will lose no weight. Some weeks you will lose no weight but see an improvement in your shape. There is no way of telling.

                  Questions on the US food market others will have to answer. The British market is quite different.

                  You may want to monitor your progress using www.fitday.com - at your weight counting only carbs ought to be sufficient, but it is quite interesting to have a record. Read the FAQ on Fitday:

                    Oh! what Terry said about taking your measurements is so right! I have maintained the last two months ready to start the next round, stuck at the 16kg loss, last month I still didn't fit some of my old clothes, then yesterday I had a meeting and 5 of my old suits fitted! I was shocked because I had been sitting on the same weight for weeks and thought nothing much was happening then ****, dropped a dress size but kept the actual weight.nice one
                    My stepfather also said that as soon as he could, he wore pants with a belt not track pants because then he could physically see his clothes getting looser, the trackpants and stretch type waists didn't give him the instant feeling of loss.

                              Well today is my 23rd Day of Atkins. I have not Lost any weight for 2 Weeks. I weighed Myself This Morning and I'm Still at 486

                              What am I doing Wrong?

                              Here is My Daily Menu

                              Breakfast (Every Morning)

                              Either Scrambled Eggs with Cheese or a
                              Cheddar Cheese Omlet (No Milk) with Chopped Red or Green Peppers & Onions mixed in.
                              6 Strips of Bacon
                              4 Sausage Links

                              Lunch (Every Afternoon)

                              Tuna Salad with Celery and Sometimes Onions mixed in served on Romain Lettuce

                              Dinner

                              12 ounce NY Strip Steak (Cajun Style) & Blackened
                              Large Tossed Salad (Romain Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Red Peppers with Ranch Dressing (2 carb)
                              Shrimp Cocktail.

                              Daily Drinks
                              Water &
                              Coke 0

                              Snacks
                              Sugar Free Jello Cups

                              I been eating Steak for dinner every Night for 2 weeks, could this be the Cause? Also, I been eating dinner around 8pm a few nights.

                              Please help, I am still sticking to this and I need to figure Out what I am Doing wrong.

                                Hi Ruben, don't be discouraged, sometimes your body takes a break to try to catch up with itself, 2 weeks is nothing to worry about.

                                Are you drinking lots and lots of water? Are you eating cocktail sauce with your shrimp cocktail? Does that blackening seasoning have sugar in it? Maybe try giving up the SF Jello for a while, some folks have problems with that.

                                Are you keeping track of your actual carb count per day?

                                You can plug everthing in in Fitday to keep track, it takes a little getting used to but its a great tool.

                                Bacon and sausage have high sodium content and can cause you to retain water too.
