    Re: Hi

By the way, as far as salad dressing. oil and vinegar is good, but I like something with a bit more zip. DANDR says that dressings with 2 carbs or less is ok for induction. I use ceasarwith bacon *ofcourse* LOL and I also like greek salad dressing with feta cheese. Both have less than one gram of carbs per tablespoon. Italian is higher than two so not the best choice. If you are making your own take the oportunity to get some heart healthy fats like olive oil. They add flavour and are great for you too!

after almost 5 months on Atkins and over 63 lbs down! Watch for updates!

      Re: Hi

Sometimes this can be confusing. Even plain mayo does have sugar in it. I never used to eat it because of that, but I do now and it has never affected my losses. Salad dressings are another story. I stick to Marie's Blue Cheese for the most part, it really doesn't have sugar in it. I also use Ken's Caesar which is more like the mayo with sugar carbs. However, keep in mind that there is natural sugar in alot of things which accounts for the sugar. You don't want any added sugar in anything, or cornsyrup or things like that.

I always use salted butter. I think of unsalted for baked goods, so I never buy it anymore!!!!! I don't think that matters at all, unless salt is bad for you for some reason.

        Re: Hi

Hi Sherry and welcome to the wonderful world of Atkins, where a hamburger is King and a well-marbled steak cooked in butter is Lord of the Universe! Regarding your question on butter, I have read that unsalted is made from first quality cream and is better than the salted butter, which has salt added in order to mask the lower quality flavor - or something to that effect. They are both the same price and so I buy unsalted, just in case I actually did read that somewhere and not just make it up...

Nothing to get bored with there!

Salted vs Non-Salted butter, whatever is your preference. I use salted myself.
Sausage/Bacon with sugar as an ingredient....as long as it isn't in the first 3 ingredients, I don't worry about it. Its used for curing in bacon and sausage. The same goes for mayo and salad dressing.
Speaking of Salad Dressings, I too use Maries Blue Cheese, Ranch, Caesar and the Creamy Garlic...YUMMY!

aww. thank you so much! haha. i really love all the new people in my life now and im excited, cautiously excited, about this new way of living. like i just seriously cant believe all the food i ate yesterday was ok for a diet. i surely mustve screwed up somehow. it just doesnt feel right. i went to bed scrutinizing every bite i ate wondering if it was the one i messed up with.

today so far ive had two fried eggs in butter and 4 pieces of bacon and im gonna have those scrumptous celery and cream cheese with bacon things. yummy. i only ever drink water so im ok with that.

oh. about high blood pressure...i take medicine to raise my bp so the salt doesnt bother me ill just have to get off those pills. yay! thatll be 16 pills left to get rid of now. i cant wait!

                thanks again yall!

Hey Sherry, you are doing just great.

You can throw out the window all the old notions of what diet food should be.

You get to eat like Royalty on Atkins. Healthy food that is tasty too! Isn't it great?
