    Water retention, I keep my sodium low during the weekdays. DO NOT GO ON SALT SUBSTITUES UNLESS YOU ARE SURE 100% THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE KIDNEY PROBLEMS.
    Maybe water retention, maybe just normal daily fluctuation in weight. I know its hard to only weigh once a week, but there are reasons for it Also, always weigh at the same time of day. I consistently weigh 4, 5 or 6 lbs more in the evening than I do in the morning (I count the morning number)

      You all have been just wonderful helping me!! I have no kidney problems or health issues of any kind, and I take no medication. I am a very healthy, but overweight, grandma of 42. Isn't it funny how you can be very healthy AND overweight at the same time? I will drink my 64 ozs. of pure water and if GOD didn't make it I won't eat it. How's that?

            I meant to say Grandma AT 42, not of 42!!! LOL
            BTW, it is soooooo very difficult to stay away from things that I normally have been eating like the world is going to end tomorrow. It was pretty easy at first, but now I am really being tested with my willpower.
            I ate 2 tbs. of peanut butter today!! For some reason I'm pretty sure I was going to starve to death! I don't know!

              Eat when you are hungry but only legal foods, the hunger thing will pass.

                When I "think" I'm hungry I'm usually thirsty -- so I go get another large glass of water and drink it. If I still "think" I'm hungry after 10 - 15 minutes then I go get something legal - get rid of the peanut butter if you can't stay away from it - that's a Rung 3 food - not induction.

                Your body is trying to mess with you because you aren't giving it the junk you were before - you are stronger than that....get out of the kitchen - get out of the house, do something - go for a walk, you can't go to the kitchen and get the peanut butter when you're half way down the block.

                  Carole and Norman, you are both so super sweet!! I will follow all the advice given and make it work! The scale has finally moved this morning, down 1 lb!! I have been stuck for 5 days. I didn't think that happens during induction. I was almost ready to go back to weight watchers!!!!!! Which didn't work.

                    Michelle -- stay off the scales....there are so many variables to loosing weight, you'll only drive yourself nuts jumping on and off everyday.....weigh yourself once a week (same day - same time - same type of clothes) no more.....Dr. Atkins said to stay off the scale until the end of induction. Good luck with that.
