  • End of Round One

I'm starting the Weigh/No Weigh tomorrow and promised not to get on the scales for a week....I should have weighed for the end of my induction on Monday so.....I got on the scale this morning and have decided today is the end of "round one" of my re-induction....I'm down to from 196 to 191. I'm very happy with the amount. Maybe 2 more days would have added 1 or more pounds of loss, but I'm thrilled with the GREAT WORK!

I really made an effort these past 2 weeks to make sure I was doing everthing correct...after that virus went through our home I believe even though I said I was doing everything right I wasn't watching as closely as I should have been. I wasn't eating things that I shouldn't have been but my portions weren't probably exact each time!

Took mom to the doctor yesterday and as I thought she has bronchitus - so with extreme antibiotics for the next 7 days she should be healthy again...yea!!

      Re: End of Round One

I made a roast in the oven this morning because it's so cold here today -- it's been raining since the middle of the night and they are even threatening snow later tonight....grrrrrr!

I'm going to make vegetable beef soup for mom & DH for dinner and I've saved out a little piece of the roast beef for my dinner. They will have enough soup for a couple days and I know mom will eat it (she's not real willing to eat right now) so it's a win win for me! I did get her to eat a little potatoes & gravy I made for their dinner last night with a little bit of the roast beef ... she ate it and feels better now. She took the antibiotic without any food and it was making her sick.....I keep forgetting she hasn't taken a lot of medicine in her life and doesn't know you have to take food with it.

I can't believe I mowed on Monday and we might have snow tonight...it's very disheartening but it's also the way our Midweat weather is!!

Ok --- off to start cutting veggies up for the soup.

It's still raining here, too. I'm SO glad we don't have to worry about snow, too.

Glad we' re not among the people in ND who are contending with piled up snow, single digit temperatures and massive flooding.

I know there is a sun hidden somewhere behind all those clouds, and it will peek through soon. Hopefully by tomorrow!

The soup sounds good. Hope they enjoy it.

Tonight is steak night for us if the rain lightens up enough to use the grill. If not, maybe I'll pan broil it.

That sounds wonderful!! For this moment in time the rain has stopped but we're suppose to have another wave go through before the snow starts....grrrrrr!! I agree with you about those in North Dakota. I was living in Western New York state when Iowa flooded a few years ago and was one of the last people they let out of the state before they started closing the roads -- luckily where mom and my brother libed they had bad rains but their homes were saved from the flooding. We had flooding here lst year but our home is high enough from te Missouri River that we weren't effected. We live between the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers....we are about 5 miles from the Missouri and have to cross the bridge to get into St Louis everytime we go into the city.

          Enjoy your steak!!

            Re: End of Round One

today was great! We had snow last night but by early afternoon it was all gone, that's the nice things about this time of year - the snow doesn't last! Mom wasn't tired last night so we sat up and talked until a little after 3:00 in the morning. I fell into bed ana woke up at 8:30 feeling like I had been sleeping 8 hours...lol.

Breakfast was "the usual" - 2 scrambled eggs w/ham & cheese and hot sauce on top - coffee & water.

Lunch was egg salad (2 eggs), 4 radishes slliced, 2oz raw cauliflower & 1oz raw zucchini with 1tsp ranch dip - water. I was stuffed after all that chewing!

Dinner was fried chicken, creamed turnips, salad w/ranch dressing and broccoli. water and coffee

After dinner I had a flax cookie

Yes Everlosing I'll start sending you meals...lol.

I live outside St Louis in Saint Charles, MO. We are 12 miles from Interstate 80 at Wentzville in case you look on the map. We are on the north side of the Missouri River (St Louis being on the south side of the Missouri.

I don't know why I started posting my meals, but now I really like to. It also helps because I can go back in my folder and see what I had and get ideas for meals again.

Posting the photos is an excellent idea, Carole.

I will have to start photographing my meals again. I have noticed that when I photograph them, I take extra pains to make them attractive and balanced.

                      Re: End of Round One

I started making the plate look nice about a year ago because I was tired of just throwing the food on it and wondering why it wasn't appealing. Even when I don't take a picture of my meal believe me, the plate looks the same.

I have my grocery list ready for tomorrow, we really need new veggies in the house because the vegetable bin is almost empty. We have plenty of meat in the freezers but I go through a lot of fresh veggies now. I'm happy that my favorite veggie stand has re-opened after winter. As the crops come in we'll get more and more homegrown veggies from them but for now most of it comes in from wherever the grocery stores get theirs - only the veggie stand is cheaper.

                      Have a great day

We'll be going to Sams for a major stockup sometime this week. One of the things I would like to try soon is crab stuffed squash.

I also haven't done the stuffed bell pepper yet, and I also would like to try some of Linda's casseroles.

I am just blown away at the variety of superb foods we can have!

                          Re: End of Round One

We really are lucky Sunny -- the variety is never ending if you take the time to find and try new recipes.

My glucose numbers were the same today fasting and early evening -- both were 99 -- that's the first time I've been under 100 all day and it was great!

I made swiss steak for dinner -- was so hungry when we sat down to eat I didn't even think about taking a picture of it. I browned round steak (no flour) and when it was done I added a can of tomatoes and sliced onion, put a lid on it and simmered it for about a half hour -- then I put it in the oven for an hour at 300. The meat was so tender we didn't need a knife on the table. I usually had a baked potato with that meal but tonight I had 3oz of cauliflower cooked in butter....it was yummie!!

Tomorrow we start a new Water Challenge - this month we have more people signed up than ever since I've been hosting it and I'm really excited that it's growing!!

Ok, off to bed for me - it's almost midnight

So GLAD to hear your blood sugar levels are so good!!!

My BIL has gone on Atkins and he told my sister tonight that his blood sugar is the lowest he has seen it in years! My husband is heading for diabetes for sure if he doesn't change his WOE. He has mentioned going on Atkins. I am not pushing, but I am happy to see him interested. We will see if I can gently convert him.

I haven't had swiss steak in YEARS. Haven't even thought of it! But will put round steak on my grocery shopping list. Thanks for the idea!

i love the pictures of your food. I am going to make my plates look pretty too.I am so stalled that i cant stand it. I am trying not to give up. But my husband and daughter are skinny things and eat everything, I have to make 2 meals cuz they love the stuff thats not on induction. I have not lost any weight since i got my treadmill i walk alteast 1 mile a day. I have lost inches, but no weight. and i dont see the inches. My oldest son came over yesterday day and i hadnt seen him in two months and he didnt notice. I am trying so hard not to lose control. I am limited on what i eat, i cant do eggs, fish,or anytype of bird. ( i get really sick from them). I usually have a couple slices of bacon for breakfast in a salad (lettuce-iceburg,extra sharp cheddar, cheese and a tablespoon of mayo) lunch a burger snack celery and cream cheese dinner what ever meat we are having a veggie and salad. plus 123 ounces of water. Lastnight i cheated they wanted blts, so i had 5net carb wheat bread with my bacon with mayo and a large salad. I dont know what i am doing wrong. i havent lost weight in 12 days. sorry to complain. sometimes i do ramble
