Re: End of Round One
I'm going to post this on the diabetes forum also but it's something I've been noticing lately:
This week has really been a turning point for me - my blood glucose numbers have been lower than they have been since I was diagnosed with Type 2 last summer.
Sherri (Mother Earth) is some person who I read posts of because she is someone I'm striving to be like. She has been able to get off diabetes medicine by losing weight thanks to the Atkins plan.
Monday fasting 111 evening 81
Tuesday fasting 99 evening 99
Wednesday fasting 109 evening 99
Thursday fasting 96 evening 104
Friday fasting 104
now the real interesting part of this is that yesterday (Thursday) I honestly forgot to take my morning metformin
-- when I figured it out it was after 5:00 p.m. and I had just checked my glucose number and it showed I only went up 8 points and I had eaten 2 meals (I took the pill then)..... this morning when I woke up it dawned on me that I hadn't taken any of my meds last night (cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, high triglycerides) -- none of them
-- and this morning my glucose number was 104 -- I had eaten dinner after I checked my blood last night, had a flax cookie around 8:00 p.m. AND went through the entire night without my blood glucose raising NOT 1 POINT.....my numbers use to go up 20 - 25 points overnight every night. This is just huge in my eyes!!!!
Yesterday I also biked 15 miles--I'm wondering if that could have been a large part of my numbers going up...
I really feel good because it jut seems I may be able to get off the meds which is what I want to do. I want to loose weight and get my health in line -- it's not too much to ask and I am the only one that can make the difference.
My willpower and resolve is stronger that ever!!! Get out of my way I'm coming through.....LOL!!!
