I found enough of my dark blue Fiiesta ware plates/platters/serving dishes in my stash that I could make a blue and white 50's style vintage looking table!!! (blue and white is kind of a tradition for Hannukah colors fyi if you did not know )

and did not take a pic I am sorry ...

all the regalia was spread out between the food a

        and ..the brisket...
OMG Megs that recipe is to die for!!! ...I got it from Wild Oats webpage but changed it completely!
I used dried figs, cherries appricots and pineapples ...coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, cumin black pepper, chile , curry ..lots of garlic and ginger..port wine....I should have written down what I did you know

anyway ...when I sat down and all was out there looking so wonderful ..even with my level of exhaustion right now!!!...I just took a few bites of everything ...closed my eyes and wanted to/..actually did ..cry ...

it was an amazing meal and not that hard to pull together actually!

My beloved Grandma Fanny would have been very proud of my dinner..I know she would have ..she was very "Avante Guarde" in life ..especially in the kitchen!!! she taught me to add "spice" all kinds of ways in life

        ..thanks for your help OOOXXX

          That's good!

I read a really interesting brisket recipe a few years ago. Basically it was the brisket, tossed into a deep pot with dried fruits (figs, etc.), stock or water, then it's slow cooked. Midway through the cooking, sweet potatoes are tossed in. I liked that recipe because it looked no-fuss, lol.
