  • February Elliptical Exercise Challenge

    Hello Everyone. I am creating an elliptical exercise challenge for those of us who want to be accountable... I know I need to be!

    Come on in and join us!!

    I am not going to get my elliptical until Friday, but you guys can start at any time you want. So, is it a go???

    Simple rules...
    1.) Check in everyday and let us know how you're doing.
    2.) Gotta have an elliptical...
    3.) Gotta help me find a cool graphic.(I'm lame at this part)

    That's it. So far it's me and Rich....join us, it'll be fun!

    I'll challenge myself to commit to 300 mintues for Feb. on the elliptical at the YMCA. My first 30 mintues on the Precor's fat burning course were done tonight during the Biggest Loser. I like that machine but too bad it doesn't have a fan in it like the treadmill and bikes. I always seem to work up a good sweat moving my arms and legs. My feat start burning half way through my work out, and then it's the battle of mind over matter.

    Hope others will join us. These exercise challenges have been my greatest motivator in years. I'm so glad ADBB exists and has wonderful people on it.

      I get to pick up my elliptical tomorrow!! Yeah. I am so excited!

        Hey!


        I'm challenging myself to do 1000 minutes on my eclyptical baby this month!

        That's the only machine I have for exercising on at home, so basically now I only do the eclyptical as a form of exercise!

          Hey all, I am here now.....

          I will commit to doing atleast 300 minutes on the eliptical trainer for February. Its a low figure, purely cos I use other gym equipment also. But I try to do an hour at a time every now and then on the eliptical. So will aim to adhere to that.

          How far do you all cover in say 30 minutes of using the machine? Generally, I cover 1k, every 7 minutes approximately. 2.5 miles in half an hour.

          I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

            I don't keep the timer on the machine, because i find i get bored if i can see the time , etc readily available for me to glance at while I'm on my bike. So I took it off and when I want to see the time I glance around behind at the clock on the shelf....it has worked out much better for me, makes me not feel bored!

            so i don tknow how many miles/ kilometres I do in 30 minutes.

                  Because I've been doing 2 to 3 machines (elliptical, treadmill, and recumbent bike) in one workout, I remember the time but have a hard time remembering all the miles and calories. I am an avid monitor watcher during commercials. I concentrate more on making sure my pulse is w/in the cardio workout range. I plan on writing it down so we can compare. Glad you're joining us.

                              ok, I did my 45 minutes last night.

                              and this morning, after a game of squash I went into the gym and did a further 30 minutes.

                              75 done of my 300 target already!
