Finished the Mosque. From feeding the spirit to feeding the mind... I've now moved on to that seat of learning that is the Moscow State University. I hope they'll give me a degree on reaching the top!

finished up GRES-2 POWER STATION! everybody's got their regular signals now.

The power station is the start of the Powerline Ekibastuz-Kokshetau and uses a transmission voltage of 1,150 kV, the highest transmission voltage in the world. The extension of this line to Elektrostal in Russia is also designed for 1,150 kV, but it currently operates at only 400 kV.

Interesting facts about the transmission voltage. I wonder why the extension line only operates at a lower voltage? Maybe we've been blaming ourselves wrongly for poor signals when climbing the power station... it was really because they're operating low!

Finally, I get to visit the Big Apple! Just for the record... am done with the Eureka Tower and on the Chrysler Building now.

(Having just posted this in the pedometer challenge by mistake (!! ) I'm wondering if all this climbing is affecting my brain! )
