Congrats on those inches lost, you guys!

HG, I'll come see you in your journal with my wet noodle shortly. And will ask you all those same annoying "why" questions you ask me when I give into tempation...

Good day yesterday and today so far: Fitday,Vitamins, Water, Exercise (running and toning), Abs work... hmm, that everything?

        Anyway, happy Tuesday everyone!

I'm slinking in after a bad weekend. I went a little crazy over my birthday and fell off the wagon in a big way. Honestly, I feel guilty due to the challenge, but since it's my first slip since started March 5th, I'm also okay with it and have let it go. I recommitted to hitting it harder than ever and have done so. I have drank 148 oz of water so far (2 - 74 oz bottles), ran 2 miles set on hills on the treadmill at lunch and am doing induction at least for this week to get back on the straight and narrow. So my fitday is good, my hives from last week are gone, I haven't weighed myself since the start and I have a new hairstyle to go with my new age. (It's been years since I've done anything with it, so it was nice to change things up.)

            Let the beatings commence!!

WoW I love the inches lost! Woot! Awesome job ladies! I am so proud of you!

Adena, let the beatings commence, I can handle it! If I can dish it I better be able to take it right?

And Pam *only* because you are not a repeat offender like Adena and I beating will be held off........ for now.

CD, I found the trailer at a road side house where a guy resells items like bkes and trailers and stuff. It cost $250 in the store and we bought it for $95. It is in perfect condition, but is used. Do you have any garage sale listings you could look at? This is normally a good place to go to find stuff.

Ok ladies, I have to ask for your understanding for the next few days, and here is why. My hubby and I just listed our house tonight and viewings will start on Saturday. This means cleaning my fingers to the bone and packing tons of stuff. So I unfortunately won't be around here too much over the next few days

I will however get here as often as I can, but I am asking you to support eachother as much as is needed and if there are any questions I would suggest talking to Adena or Julirama. These two ladies have been the biggest influences and helpers in my Atkins Journey by far and I have full confidence that they will help you and give you the right info to make it through any crisis, ok?

Good news is an offer we made on a house was accepted tonight, but we only have 14 days to get our house sold to meet all of the conditions for the sale. So I am sure you can understand the time crunch!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate you all very much!

                HG over and out!

after almost 5 months on Atkins and over 63 lbs down! Watch for updates!

                      Hi everyone! Just checking in.

I am doing good so far, restarting induction this week, or sort of extending it. I wanna lose more weight before moving to OWL.
I missed my exercise yesterday because I was dealing with car issues and my whole day was thrown off. I can say I think I drank like 200 oz of water yesterday, LOL UGH my stomach! I had to invest in the crystal light to go packets to get it all down. that stuff is awesome!
I will make up for it to day and do more exercise than normal.

I love this challenge. It is making me actually compete with myself in a way. Each week I am pushing as hard as I can to see how many inches I can lose and I love it!
                      What a great idea HG!

So happy hump day, I hope your all doing great and staying on track!

                      • Re: Atkins Attack, May 1st - June 15th.

Hi guys. HG, I'll do my best to hold down the fort if anyone needs anything. Good luck with the house(s)!

Pam, you look fabulous in your new picture. You have the right attitude, just pick up and press on. Sounds like you're solidly back on track.

Kim, I agree -- this challenge really pushes me to pay attention to everything and try to "perform" as best I can to end up with great results! It's also giving me the discipline I've been lacking lately. As for extending induction, you know, just b/c you add in more carbs (especially on the veggie rung, which is first), doesn't mean your losses will slow down. I know the book says that it can happen. But for me, and others I've talked to, it wasn't necessarily true. In fact, I had stalled a little on induction, and ended up losing MORE when I moved over to OWL after 4 weeks or so. So, just remember, more carbs doesn't necessarily mean slower losses. AND, most importantly, it teaches you how to eat this way for a lifetime. I LOVE OWL foods, and it tremendously expands my day to day options. I have to admit that staying on induction long-term would have made me feel a lot more deprived. Now, I only feel deprived occasionally. Anyway, that's just my unsolicited 2 cents.

Hope you all have a great day!

                          Woohoo! No beatings!

Good luck HG! Congratulations on the new house - I know it's a lot of hard work but it'll be wonderful! You sound like a cleaning machine, I'm sure it'll be spotless in no time!

Adena, your new pic is beautiful! You look great!

Kim, I feel the same way about challenging myself. Since I don't really have anyone I exercise with, I try to push myself to go further/faster or harder. I'm so used to judging my success with the scale, I'm really hoping that doing the inches thing will be more helpful on my moral then the fickle scale was!

                          Have a great day guys!

                            Hey everybody!

I know I'm not an Atkins Attacker (hrrm that sounds militant) but HG asked if I'd drop in and chill for a while. So I'm here. I didn't think I could read this thread if I wasn't a participant. You all don't have a secret handshake or anything do you?

Pam, I don't have an exercise buddy either. So my motivation is always the clock or the pedometer. I try to always run a little bit faster, or a little bit farther. Sometimes I'm sad I don't have anyone to work out with, but I think if I did, I'd spend more time talking and less time sweating!

I had a workout buddy briefly, but they keep dropping on me. LOL! Ah well - I have buddies here to keep me in check! I keep thinking I'll sign up for a 5K but keep chickening out. Maybe I should soon. I'm so stinkin short tho, I'm very slow and likely everyone would go home before I even got there!

Pam, go ahead -- find a 5k and go for it! Just pick one and and do it. And don't worry, I promise you won't be the last one to finish. There are plenty of pokey people out there. If you sign up for one, it'll be great motivation to keep pushing yourself as you work toward it. Plus, they're fun... and you usually get a t-shirt outta the deal, which you can then wear when you workout and feel slightly smug.

On the day I did my half marathon, I came home with a medal, and my kids (ages 3 and 5) still think I won it.
