        Hello dear AA's

I have not been on since Tuesday cause my 2 yr old little baby boo was a little sick and I pamper him even more during these days.

I still was very good with my foods & Vitamin.......WATER Intake, i need to work at that a little more but i get full up easily when it comes to drinking, not only just water!! even when i drank orange juice or diet soda i was happy with a few sipps. Anyway, i will get better at it, i know i will, its like running, you start slow than gradually give it that extra push. My excersing have been very good, 30 mins of Cardio and 20 mins of Kick boxing cadio/tone up, and 15 to 20 mins tredmill.

People have started to comment on my loss cause they can tell from my clothes. It keeps me motivated. I was dying to get on the scale today but my hubby kept giving me that look of NOOOOOOOOO u may not, u have 5 more weeks to go!!! Tomorrow measuring day.

        will catch you guys later,

BTW, i have read all your comments and dont worry tryingagain, i am still on induction as i decided to extend it for a few weeks, but after reading HUBBy's girl comments i am tempted to start the OWL phase a little earlier.....i'll let you know!!

I just have to say the first official week of this challenge has been murder on me! I have been on a 5 day business trip and EVERY SINGLE DAY during the meetings there have been danishes, donuts and bagels in the morning. Then in the afternoon there have been brownies with frosting, cake, huge cookies and bags of chips. Not once was there anything I could eat. I stoically held my ground, although it was the hardest thing I have ever done. Even when I brought a few nuts to help alleviate the carb sensory overload, I was still lusting after the no-no's. I typically don't crave carbs, but I do find that when confronted constantly with this stuff, I REALLY want them. I would have to say this was by far the most challenging week of my Atkins journey. It was like dangling crack cocaine in front of an addict! Thanks for letting me vent!

Thanks Janet, I think I am going to extend induction 1 extra week because I have still almost 50 lbs to lose and I'd like to get as much out of the way as possible

Kisstuck, so proud of you for staying on plan this week, congrats!!! It should be smooth sailing from here for you now. I wonder why these functions don't opt for better choices than all that stuff. My business meetings are also loaded with bagels and donuts from dunkins, UGH, so befoe the meetings I make sure to have some eggs and bacon to keep me satisfied and not hungry.

Kim and HG, congrats on your inches!

Kim and Janet, don't be afriad of OWL. I started losing MORE, not less, when I started adding in more carbs and variety. And it helps tremendously with not feeling deprived and providing you with more options.

Kiss, it's awesome you avoided that temptation. I KNOW how hard that is from personal experience. At a training class the other day, the lemon bars they had put out were screaming my name so loudly I could barely hear the instructor. Congratulations!! I know that was tough, but you came through with flying colors! And now, don't you feel stronger? I know that everytime I pass up something that's REALLY tempting, it makes me feel that much stronger the next time.

Janet -- congrats on the compliments.

I've had a couple of good AA days. Food, water, exercise, vitamins... check. Today I jogged about 6 miles, so I more than completed my 10 miles per week goal with a total of 13. I didn't have time to measure this morning, but look forward to it tomorrow when I wake up.

                • Re: Atkins Attack, May 1st - June 15th.

A big congratulation to everyone for all of their personal victories and also for making it through the first few days of what I personally feel is the most challenging challenge I have ever come across! You guys rock!!!

Today is a good day to reflect. It is Saturday and most people have at least a little bit of time to spend thinking and laying about doing much of nothing.... (or not! LOL) But on the weekend it is noce to reflect on the week you just had and plan for the week ahead. So today I am going to talk about menu planning.

Kiss brought up an interesting topic that I hope you take a bit of time to think about. We all face moments where the food options provided by others are totally contradictory to what we should eat doing Atkins. I have faced it and I am sure all of you have faced it to. This is where I think planning can be a great tool to have. Just say, like kiss, that you are going to be in meetings, or you are going to a mommy and baby playdate, or you are eating over at a family members home. How do you handle the situation of foods that normally are very tempting? Well, kiss did a great thing by resisting the sugar and I think I may have personally had a hard time doing what she did. (not that it was easy right kiss?) I may have fallen off the wagon as I have been known to do on occasion. SO I have learned that because I have little will power in those situations I need not use will power. I do much better with planning a snack, meal, or eating before I go. A big breakfast, a few ziploc's full of legal treats and the occasional coffee with sweetner and cream help hold me over until I can get to a meal that I know will satisfy me.

I like to visualize the situation..... how will I feel if I go off plan? I personally would end up beating myself up for a bit, get back on the wagon and start thinking about how far I have side tracked my progress. And the flip side is how will I feel if I have legal snacks when in this situation. At times to be honest I feel deprived. And a little resentful that I can't eat the treats that everyone else is and that it isn't fair that I don't have the metabolism of a 100lb teenager. Then I get over myself, eat my strawberries and cheese and home made almond crisps and watch everyone else drool over my obviously tastey treat. Then I think about how I am going to feel in a year when I have met my goal, and how I will feel if i have to come back here and fess up to giving in to a temptaion. I know I would disapoint myself and that I may even let a few of you down by giving in to temptation.

So planning is a good thing. Knowing what is coming up so you know how to handle it... keeping legal snacks in your bag so you are never in a situation where you can't eat. And also planning a menu for the week to avoid those last minute stops in the grocery store where temptation abounds on the way home from work. All of the challenges we face on Atkins are manageable. I at times look at myself as being diabetic. If I had no choice and had to eat this way or die, or lose a limb because of not changing my habits or managing my disease, then the choices become a little easier to make. *Step away from the cookies HG... just step away*LOL

We all make choices, no one puts the food in our mouths but us. We live with the consequences and the benefits of those choices. Let's try our best to make all of the outcomes from our actions beneficial!

Tuesdays are fine for measuring Christy. Everyone may chose to measure on different days, I just like Saturdays because it works out with my schedule better. Saturdays are my least busy day.

How is everyone doing? Any falling off the wagon or stepping on the scale? (you can tell us... I won't kick you out! LOL)

Today was a very good day! No scale for me and that feels better than anything else. To know that I can go into the bathroom and not be drawn to it and suffer from it is very relaxing lol I haven't measured yet; I usually measure on Tuesdays as well. We had a very good brunch full of yummy fish today and then a BBQ dinner of Pork Roast which was really good. I don't care much for BBQ sauce so it was all good and legal!

All my info is in Fitday and I did eat quite a few more calories today than I usually do. 2205 for the day; my BMR is 1616.5 so at least I made it over that for today. I fell a little short yesterday. I am addicted to Cindy's crispy cheese "crackers" from Linda's site and THANK GOD I found them! I am a 'crunchaholic' and these things really hit the spot and same me from cheating for that necessary crunchy fix!

Sounds like everyone is doing great so far! Congratulations on all the inches gone!! Hopefully, I'll be joining you "losers" on Tuesday lol

Ahhh, the cheese crisps! Yes many an evening has been saved by the cheese crisps! Love em!

Try also doing pepperoni slices in the oven till crispy, makes a nice change from the cheese crisps.

For those of you who are bbq sauce lovers, I have a recipe from George Stell. It is bourbon bbq, great on ribs! Which we are having tomorrow.

Well, off to report in other threads. Just so you guys know I am going to have to post my weight for the 6WEC#34 challenge this week. It is comming to an end and I already committed to doing this. I did ask earlier in this challenge if anyone had a problem with me breaking the no weigh commitment, and the response was that no one minded under the circumstances. I will update my ticker and post it in my next measure day.

                          Thanks for understanding everyone!

I'm sure everyone has encountered these situations before, but I personally haven't been bombarded for 5 days of concentrated carbs before!! I will definately plan better next time. Great advice from hubby about keeping safe snacks with you.
