Re: Atkins Attack, May 1st - June 15th.
Homemade ketchup recipe..... my family loves this so I usually double the recipe, but try it first to see if you like it. Make sure you shake it before using every time, it can get a bit runny if you don't at first and get thick by the end of the bottle.
6oz tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
5 tsp splenda
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground allspice
1/8 tsp ground clove
~whisk ingredients together to incorperate spices
~store in a covered container in the fridge.
I use a salad dressing bottle that has been washed out. We go through this stuff fast! It has 1gnet carbs/tbsp. Regular ketchup usually has about 4 carbs per tbsp. It may not be a lot of carbs for regular ketchup, but your body has to burn the sugar in it before it burns your stored fat! So every carb counts IMHO!
Don't skip the spices.... they make it taste Heinz like!
