      Good morning. Yesterday I did good. Really messed with Fitday deciding what to make for dinner to get the numbers correct. Did not get my exercise in last night due to the hives issue previously mentioned, but I swear to get my 5 days in. Intend on taking the oldest jogging this evening, I miss it. Water, did really well. I have a 92 ounce jug I fill in the morning and keep on my desk. Drank 1 1/2 of those plus another couple of glasses that night at home. Vitamins, no problem. Scale is staring at me as well when I go to the bathroom first thing in the morning, so asked hubby to hide it. I am sure it will actually be so much better for me since I let it affect my moods so much.

      Quick question. Those of you OWL'ing, are you going up the rungs but keeping your carbs down or just doing induction right now? I was on berries before we started this and have continued, but wonder if I should do induction again for a bit. Thanks!

          Hey all,

          2nd May:
          Food: 41.36g net carbs today. 1836 calories, just about enough. 62% fat, 9% carbs, 29% protein.
          Water: 2 litres down already
          Vitamins: done
          Exercise: Ran 2.55k in 20 mins, so should be ok for next week's race. Also 35 mins biking - covered 17.20 miles. Total 55 mins.

          Managed not to weigh - is the hardest part by miles!

            Pam, I would definitely stay where you are -- don't go back down. Now probably isn't a great time to move UP the rungs, but if you've been fine where you are, I wouldn't change. Remember that even though we aren't weighing, we are measuring, so you'll know if you stray off track. Plus, making sure we carefully track in Fitday will help, too.

              Just checking in! Day 1 went good, no exercise though. Gonna do a 2 mile watp today. Food was ok...I was a little under my bmr so Im gonna work on that today also. Water and vitamins are right on track. Im having no trouble staying away from the scale, I dont want to see that huge # any more that I have to lol.

                  Hi all! Doing good so far, on my 3rd bottle of water (will need one more after this), and got my exercise in. 30 min hills on treadmill and some crunches and upper body work Feeling good!!

                    Drink my water

                    Reason for all the walking. I live in L.A. and hunting for a apartment on foot is more effective.

                      Day 2 has gone very well! Got my water down and entered my food in fitday. I'm at 17 carbs for the day but I'm still 400 calories under my BMR! UGH. 1616 is such a hard number for me to hit! Any ideas for high calorie low carb snacks?? lol

                        Everything is good on this end. Finishing up my water and taking the last of my supps, too. I hit the weights hard today and food was good.

                          Just checking in, and realized I forgot to take my supps today... I'll go do that as soon as I finish here. (If I wasn't checking in, I'd have forgotten altogether )

                            Just some food for thought.....


                            Hello pretty naked lady... I see you looking at me with wonder in your eyes... You know I have been waiting for you... come on over here and step on me... I promise I won't laugh or cry from the strain of you stepping on me... but I also won't tell you if the number you see is water weight, fat weight or if you have the need to use the toilet! What I will do is play with your emotions and tell you that you just aren't good enough the way that you are. I won't tell you that you have been working hard and that the fat you are losing and muscle that you are gaining are just trading numbers on my dial.... step away from that tape measure... it doesn't love you the way I do! Really I love you.... just don't ask me to tell you what you want to hear. I only give out numbers... not reflections of your hard work or dedication to changing your life, or the fact that you feel way better about yourself when you stay away from me. I am your friend... really!



                            Scales are not our friends ladies.... they don;t tell us what our bones, muscles and fat weigh, they only give the reflection of gravity and it's pull on us to keep us on earth. Really, is it worth it to step on the scale and second guess everything you know to be good for you just to satisfy your curiosity? It really isn't worth it. Trust yourself and the science of Atkins. It works and it will work for you. Just stay on course and remember that weight loss isn't linear. It goes up and down with water and intake and losses and gains. It is just the nature of how your body adjusts to your WOE and how it works to protect you from starvation. This *is* a good thing. Don't stress about a number, it really doesn't mean all that much.

                            Think of it this way.... If you weighed 165 lbs and fit into a size four wouldn't you rather that then weighing 150 lbs and fitting into a size 8? It's just a number... think about your inches lost and rejoice in the fact that you are shrinking. Numbers will follow.



                            About the eating enough calories. I think that it is not a wise I dea to stuff yourself. You do need to try to get in at least your BMR, but if it is tough then that is alright. You need to build up all of these changes gradually to get used to it. But remeber that if your body thinks it isn't getting enough calories in it will slow down your weight loss. The best way for me to keep my calories high is to really top up at breakfast and keep snacking throughout the day. High calorie foods can be found in the form of nuts, sauces for your foods, meats, etc.... try to eat the biggest meal you can possibly get in in the morning. It really does help. If you need to eat half of your breakfast at 6 and the second half at 8 then go for it! Eat on the go and nibble all day long. It will keep your furnace stoked and burning all day long. I suggest not eating a few hours befor bedtime, but I do stray from this rule often and haven't found too many ill effects. If you need a top on calories try making Stella Style NY ricotta cheese cake. Really good and around 300 calories a piece. A good top up at the end of the day. I'll hunt the recipe down and post it a little later.

                            Foods, awesome, calories about 100 low, still snacking! Water done, supps taken, 45 minutes dvd and upper body weights, no scale and all foods legal. Gotta go report in other challenges but I'll be back.

                              Great post, HG... thank you! I wasn't sure about the "pretty naked lady" at first, but I read on and figured it out.

                              Calories and percentages were good today. I was hungry tonight and had some extra carbs, so I need to go in and add those now. I went to the track to exercise with my family, but my son cried almost the whole time, so I didn't get to do much. I did do 100 crunches, though. I'll definitely go running tomorrow evening. I need to get in at least 3 miles. Will take supplements before bed. Got in right around 100 ounces of water, maybe a little more. Hmm... is that everything? I think so.

                                WTG Adena! I know you'll get those miles in come hail or high water!!! My kids stand in the way of exercise too a lot of times. Just wondering, how is Jay doing with induction?
