Hey everyone! Good luck with the measurements and have a great weekend & Mother's Day! I believe I've undid the damage from my bad weekend, but I'm a little scared to measure since my first measurement was before the damage - I might just come out even, but that's what I get! Ah well.

I am doing very well now tho. Although I didn't get to run when I got home as I planned because I remembered that I had to do something for teacher appreciation week at daycare. So I stopped at Michaels and got stuff to make a gift for them, and Walmart to get cake stuff. So by the time I left at 6:00 from work, got home at 7:30, made the gifts and helped with dinner it was time for my online college class at 9:00. Phew! But I'll run my butt off tonight (hopefully literally). Food is good, water is good, vitamins, no weighing...can't think of anything else.

    Happy Mom's Day!

    Pam

I am the first! Oh man!

Well first a summary of the week,

I did OK on the water. I started to slack off a bit toward the end of the week, but am picking it back up. I also have been STARVING like a poor child. I don't know whats up but it caused me to cheat last night. Yup I confess I did it. I had the chesseburger I was planning for dinner, but added a whole wheat bun. So I threw myself out of ketosis and need to spend the next couple days getting back there before adding more veggies or fat or something in, but I need to re-evaluate my menu becuase I can't go on hungry like this or I am going to totally relapse. (NO I AM NOT) picking myself up off the floor and wiping away the tears of shame....I am moving forward darnit!!
Exercise, I did ok also. I had car issues one day that killed it and yesterday I splurged on a mani and pedi, lol so I left myself no time for a workout, Yes I am shameful. I got 3 days in so I am going to be happy about that.
Everything else I was good on, so for the measurements, here goes:

      Part.....last weeks measure.....this weeks measure.....total lost
      calf.....15.....14.75.....(-.25) x2 = .5 lost
      thigh.....26.....25.75.....(-.25) x 2 = .5 lost
      bicep.....13.....12.75.....(-.25) x2 - .5 lost
      forearm.....10.5.....10.5.....0 = 0 lost
      shoulders.....41.75.....41.25.....(-.25) = .25 lost
      hips.....44.....43.75.....(-.25) - .25 lost
      waste.....41.5.....40.....(-1.5) = 1.5 lost
      abs.....34.75.....34.....(-.75) = .75 lost
      bust.....41.5.....40.....(-1.5) = 1.5 lost
      wrist.....7.25.....6.75....(-.5) x2 = 1 lost
      neck.....14.....13.75....(-.25) = .25 lost
      knee.....15.5.....15.25.....(-.25) x2 = .5 lost
      ankle.....9.....9.....0....= 0 lost

That is a total of 7.5 inches lost this week. Not too shabby for not really feeling it or getting all my exercise in

Here I go planning for week 3!! Good luck all I can't wait to see your progress and have a GREAT cheat free weekend!!

Congratulations on all those inches lost. That is absolutely FABULOUS!!!

        trying--
if you are hungry, then you need to eat! If it is TRUE HUNGER, your body is saying "hey give me something to run on, NOW!" Eat something satisfying, eat something with lots of fat. If it is a craving, ignore it. There is no reason, EVER, to go hungry on Atkins--Atkins is not about deprivation, but satiety.

          Thanks Julie!!

Yes it is definitely true Hunger, I need to add more fat I think.
My calories are way too low and I don't know how to up them without upping the carbs, I am having an issue with that. I know thats why I am hungry, My BMR is like 1637 and I am lucky if I get that in calories a day. Plus working out I am burning buckets of calories. So Common sense is I need to eat MORE. I am going to work on that this weekend for next week, and see how I can tweak it and add more in without going overboard on the carbs.
Cravings, those have been there for sweets big time! I felt like absolute dog poo after eating that burger with the bun and my stomach was not happy with me, it almost sent back the package if you know what I mean.
So I can garuntee I won't be doing that again...
I can't find a good induction friendly sweet snack to make
I browsed the recipes and there are some good ones but not for induction.

I will work on it..I have to get it straightened out now before its too late

Thanks for all of your help!!

Kim, congrats on all those inches lost -- that's GREAT!

Christy, that's great about the carpis. I just love when I can feel a real difference like that in the matter of only a week! Your new avatar picture looks great, btw.

Kim, a "mock danish" is a good induction friendly, sweet snack. Here's the recipe for a pumpkin danish:

              1 tbsp. pumpkin
              2 oz. cream cheese
              1 egg
              1 pkt splenda
              1/8 tsp. vanilla
cinnamon (depends on how much you like it, I love it!)

Soften cream cheese and mix it well with the egg, really well. Add all the other ingredients and mix well. Microwave for 2 minutes, maybe longer depending on the consistency you like.

You can also omit the pumpkin and cinnamon, and then it becomes a regular mock danish. I like to top mine with melted butter and splenda. Or cream cheese. Oh wait... can you have cream cheese on induction??

                  Wrist 6.00 in/ 5.75 (-.25 x 2 = -.5)

                  Total inches lost = 7.25!

That makes me so excited! I hadn't been good about measuring myself since starting Atkins until this challenge. This rocks! I was scared to measure this week because it's taken nearly all week to get back to ketosis after my cake-fest on my birthday last weekend. I can't wait to see how it goes this week!

I did good with everything - did induction again to get back on track, ran three times this week then today did a ton of work outside on the pool we're putting a liner in. Even ran 2.5 miles yesterday outside so I think I'll be fine for doing the 5K June 9th. I had been just doing treadmill work the last couple of months so wasn't sure how it'd go!

                  Good luck ya all!

Hey Everybody! I am in the ADBB house today! Yippeeeee! I missed you guys like you could not possibly believe!

Ok, so here is what I thonk of all that has gone on without me for like the last 7526 pages of conversation that I just read up on. (not that you need me guys, since you are all so amazing! and you have Ms Adena and Miss Juli to help out!)

First off, thank you so much Adena and Jules for all of your help. The ladies here were in good hands for sure and your friendship and support are appreciated more than you could possibly ever imagine!

I love all the disscussion. Cheat connfessions are good, serious consideration of the impact of foods and carb counts, calorie consumption, etc... are all great things. These are the reason I decided to start this challenge. Paying attention to your body and what it is telling you is so much more important than the scale. Like for example, you could eat pineapple upside down cake on your birthday (tee hee Pam, not picking on you but just using it as an example! ) step on the scale the next few days and have no imediate weight gain consequences. But that doesn't mean that you didn't throw your system out of wack, gain new/old cravings for sweets, or cause an emotional tirade of epic proportions! But knowing how those foods affect you even in ways the scale won't tell you right away make us more aware for the naxt time we are facing a tempting food. It is ok, these things happen. I am not so nuts that I think we will never face temptation, God knows I do on a regular basis. But it is what we decide that makes the difference in our ability to maintain this WOL.

Did anyone see the recent Oprah with Stacey Halprin. She didn't lose all the weight by doing Atkins, she had gastric bypass, but she did say that there is a key component that she has found with the people she has interviewed for a book she wrote in their ability to keep the weight off long term. The thing is, in life time losers, when you fall of the wagon in say the form of 16 oreos or perhaps a hamburger bun (just making it fair trying) the right thing to do is for your very next meal get right back on track. Don't let a slip become a full blown binge that can last like 50 lbs and 3 years!

A wise woman once told me that if you had 12 china plates and broke one would you throw the other 11 in the pile of rubble as well? Just one slip does not a failure make. So no more worries about that ok? Jus ttake care to always jump back on the wagon and treat your body extra nice to appologize for the toxic sugar you gave it. LOL

So, no one has yet taken me up on the send a pm to the folks in the challenge to encourage them challenge inside a challenge thingy..... goodness me..... what ever am I going to do with the reward I have just hanging around? Oh well.... if no one wants it...

So today I have so much to do, groceries, 2 showings on our house, mother's day stuff. Nothing fancy, I hate resteraunts on Mother's day. Too crowded. I'd much rather a bbq here at home!

So everything with me ahs gone well with the AA game this week. I have been a bit loosey goosey with recording stuff, and to that I confess. But dang.... selling a house with only 9 more days to do it is tough stuff! So I have not been recording my calories ratios in fitday, but I have been watching my carbs and eating very familiar foods. Nothing much in the food department has changed. Which is good because I am not doing anything off plan! LOL I haven't stopped moving my body for pretty much five days straight! Wit the exception of 3-4 hours sleep a night! SO I think i got in my exercise?!?!? LOL Water is great! I hate water, but because I an m working my tail off, i have been drinking like a mad woman! Vitamins are in, routine is a good thing~ And other than that I don't think i have missed anything. I will measure at my first chance and let you know what is going on in the inches department, first I have to find the box in the garage where I put it thinking I could just fish it out on Saturday! LOL

My dh and I are still going full tilt, house stuff sucks, I am tired! Too stressfull. We celebrated our anniversary on Friday, but it wasn't a huge celebration! We had beer and pepperoni sticks with red pepper and blue cheese dip while we painted our bedroom! LOL And no nookie cuz we actually never quite made it to bed! LOL Oh well, when you have been married as long as we have, it kinda all evens out! (yeah right!)

Wel, gotta go. Laundry is calling my name as well as my journal which is probably very dusty! So....

                          Happy Mother's day!

                          TTYL!

after almost 5 months on Atkins and over 63 lbs down! Watch for updates!

Good morning and Happy Mothers day to all the mommies out there! Things are going along pretty good around here; haven't done too good on keeping my calories up to my BMR in the past few days, but I'm working on it. Water has been good; cut down to only one can of soda a day which is great for me! Now I just need to stop all together. I've slacked on fitday the past 2 days myself, just been a busy time around here. I'll be playing catch up today though.

Hope everyone has a great day!

                                hello dear friends,

1st of all a huge well done to all for all the " LOST!! whihoooo keep it all up.

Sorry, right now i'm not in a position to log in everyday and check out how my fellow Atkin Attack challengers are doing. i really enjoy reading how you are all doing and i also read and update my self with a few of my concerns or ideas and recipes but my 2yr old son Zach was sick last week, he had a runny nose and we thought it was the flu but than all of a sudden this past week was a huge head ache as we had many sleepless nights. We took him to the docs and went to hospital for a few Xrays and he has bronchitis. The weather here is very warm now and the doc said, he gets alot these these cases due to sudden change of weather. Anyway he's now on Med and he should be well in no time.

Anyway to cut a long story short, i was quite good with my food intake this past week but i only exercised twice and i did not feel good about it. My water intake is still not totally there yet but like i always say i'm working pretty hard a that. i am also still on induction phase and am planning to stay on it for another 2 weeks than i will go to phase 1 of OWL......not to mention that i cheated this week!! this week my hubby prepared a bowl of fresh starwberries with whipped creme on top and even though i'm far away from that phase i still ate it......i dont regret it at all cause it was a very nice treat for a change. i will make up for it in the next week!!

                                well here goes my measurments
