              Let's talk about these squats.. why are they so darn hard? I've done hundreds of miles on stationary cycles and elliptical trainers in the the last three months.. these squats kill my legs. I thought it would be a little easier after that much conditioning!

              I have to do them like 5 at a time, spread throughout the day. The 'workouts' say do like 3 sets of 15 one day rest the next... I cannot do 15 squats in a row.

              I AM going to do them. Just it will have to be a few at a time.

                I have never done the Squat Challenge, but I think this will be fun and great for my legs.

                What I know:
                1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
                2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
                3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
                4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

                  But working on them is going to give you strength to really go at those cardio exercises. The squats (in addition to being great thigh and bum exercises) strengthen legs. It really helps my running. If those upper leg muscles are strong my knees will be so much stronger when running.

                  So you are doing the hipbone apart squats right? They were hard on me too when I started. Don't go too deep if they are hard. Do them slow instead. Keep your abs tight, squeeze your gluts. Remember to keep the weight on the heals. Wiggle your toes to make sure you use your heals. Bend a little bit forward (from the hip) when you do them. But do them. But a cool thing is that when you really feel them like that, they really going to do the work for you. If they were easy - there would be little point in doing them.
