    Maybe I'm living in la-la land, but I can't believe they're sending them home. TBL invested too much in them already and they all worked hard and lost weight. No slackers in that group! So I'm thinking there is another twist coming and they'll be back next week.

      I was thinking about last nights Biggest Loser. The very beginning of the show was focused on "people at home." I suspect that they are trying to make people see that you really can do it at home and you don't need to be at a place like the Biggest Loser to find success. That might be part of it... I dunno.

      I think what was most amazing is that I have seen the show so many seasons now that when I first saw the contestants last night - I could almost picture them thin and how great they are going to look. Wish I could do that with me! All I see is FAT. lol...


      It is nice seeing a picture where I actually have a neck!

        I am sick I guess I caught a flu or something and I feel really really bad...
        I have a small fever and my throat is so sore, I almost can't speak... I guess
        this means I shouldn't exercise today? Or maybe it will help my body sweat all
        the bad stuff and make me feel better soon?! I can't believe this is happening
        in the 1st week of the challenge... I hope I can still lose some weight though...

        GOAL 1: 145 - this is the weight I will be happy with! Then, I'll take it slowly from there...
        GOAL 2: 130ish? I first set my goal at 118, but realized it might be just a bit low...

          I think you're right Debi. Afterall, we are the ones at home watching it. We know that there is no way that we can lose the amount of weight that they're losing, as they're in a controlled environment & setting. They do not have outside sources & challenges to deal with. So the ones going home will prove to us that we can do it at home, with the right discipline & motivation to do so. If this was just a show about losing weight, it probably wouldn't last much longer. It is more than that, it is about lifestyle & habits, which we as the audience can all associate with.

            My first thought was that they are going to make a separate team out of those 9 people and have them train with someone else, like that 3rd trainer they had a couple seasons ago?? Then show up after a month and shock the heck out of their partners. I don't know...

            The other thing that was surprising (although considering it is a tv show to make money, maybe not so much) is how overweight ALL the contestants are this season. In previous seasons, they had people who were overweight, but not morbidly obese (like in the 180-220 lb range). This time, the smallest person is the older lady at 242!! It is probably true that this is representative of the growing US population, but it also keeps things sensationalized I think. I definitely don't want it to get me in the mindset of "this is not AS important for me, because I am not suffering from any of the health problems associated with morbid obesity." At least it is a great reminder of where I will be if I don't change my life now!

            I am hoping for a new twist that will bring back the other 9 people next week, wishful thinking??

              I have to dash off to work so can't log in a larger comment on last night's show - but I did want to remind everyone that, while the 9 will have to work at home to lose the weight, the show (I'm pretty sure) provides them with personal trainers. The reason I say this is that at the end of each show they show the person sent home working out with a trainer. So... I'm assuming... that they'll do the same with this bunch. I hope so, anyway, because it will make it so much easier to achieve success!

                Oh man, that's got to be disheartening. Silver lining is, hopefully you'll be done with it for the rest of the winter.

                If it were me, I'd stay in bed and allow the body to do what it needs to to kick that flu. And IIRC, Jillian has stated on her show that you don't sweat out toxins through your skin; the system doesn't work that way. I believe it all has to go through the lymph system and eventually out other ways, up or down...

                Hope you just rest and allow your body to do what it needs to for now. Once you're better, we'll hound you to git at it!

                  i think ive lost 3.5lbs so far but my scale might be off
                  so im going to use the gym scale because i dont want to get my hopes up
                  what is the exact date of the last epiosde ?

                        Hope everyone is doing great...doesn't exercise feel wonderful?


                        I have to admit, I took an easy day. I walked a mile outside with my husband. I fell asleep for a small nap and ended up sleeping from 5PM - 10PM!! So grabbed my husband and we went for a walk.

                        I received Billy Bootcamp..has anyone done it?
