I have the 30 day shred. I really need to try it again. When I bought it, I could not make it past the jumping jacks I think I may be able to at least be able to make it through it still tough I am sure! It has been a month since I purchased it.

I've had my copy for a while, too, and still haven't tried it. I'm a little nervous right now because I'm trying to avoid bronchitis but would REALLY like to give it a shot, even if I do it half-assed. (Is that possible??) Still better than nothing.

Biggest Loser Week Two - Plateau Time

If you tuned in last night, you know the theme was the notorious plateau. After experiencing stunning results in week one, most everyone noticed a significantly lower weight loss in week two, which has been typical in past seasons as well. Whether it's week two or week twenty, it's always frustrating if you're working out REALLY hard, and sticking to a healthy eating plan, only to find that there's little movement when you step on the scale. This is one of the many unpredictable facets of weight loss.

That's why it's so important to take other baseline measurements. As I wrote in Positively Ageless, Dr. Huizenga, (the sports doc behind the The Biggest Loser) says that an ordinary tape measurement of your waist, may be the most cost-effective way to follow your fat loss at home.

Have a friend or family member place a nonmetal tape measure around your waist, exactly parallel to the floor at belly-button level. After you let out a breath, have your helper take two waist circumference readings -- do additional readings if these two are more than half an inch different. This measurement, along with your starting weight, can be an effective way to track your progress. I always track waist measurements as well as weights, when following clients in my private practice. Even if the scale stops moving for awhile, the tape measurement is a trusty back-up to reflect the results of your hard work.

The other thing to keep in mind if you're just starting out is to set realistic goals for yourself. You didn't gain weight (or lose muscle tone) overnight. Consequently your excess pounds won't melt away overnight (and you won't likely wake up with shredded abs either. )

                  !!!!UPDATED INFO!!!!

I DID A RE-COUNT, AND IF THE BIGGEST LOSER SEASON LASTS FOR 13 WEEKS, THIS CHALLENGE WILL EITHER END ON THE 31ST OF MARCH OR THE 6TH OF APRIL!

I'm not sure if they count the first episode week as week one or not... that's why I'm not sure which date is the right one. At any rate, we've got 13 weeks to shape it up-- good luck people!

I'm also gonna re-set my challenge goal weight.... I know it's only 6 lbs, but i think 151 would be a more realistic goal weight--that would be 45 lbs total lost in the challenge!

Toenails and fingernails clipped, eyebrows plucked; I'm drawing the line at cutting my hair. Maybe next week. ha. I'm just kidding.

Well, I'm tired from my 1 1/2 hour hike and also yoga today. I don't think I'm going to make my goal this week though. This morning I was only down by 2.8 from last week, so doubt I'll make the 5lb goal I made. In fact I'm re-thinking my overall goal. Can I change it to 179? 22.6 lbs would be an awesome achievement and realisically I can probably be happy if I lose at a rate of 2lbs per week. So, I think it will be more realistic to change it rather than feel like I'm going to fail right from the get go.
