Okay this episode made me cry! Even my husband had some discrete tears

      Jan 13:
      3 miles on treadmill
      100 squats

Tomorrow is arms and abs. My abs are killing me from the Billy Blanks ab bootcamp. It was great!

        Hi everyone,
Just got off work and am watching this week's episode right now!
So, I'm putting up my goal for next week now.
Did everyone sign up online and register so that lb for lb food will be donated to the food banks? I'm going to do that now.

I was going to say 4 lbs... but I thought 'oh what the heck, if they can do it on TV, so can I!' Going to do as many days of double workouts (am and pm) as I can. I think that is pretty key to keeping the metabolism burning burning burning!

I was stunned to see Daniel hoofing it on the treadmill as well as he was, even telling Jillian to increase the speed. Really got me thinking about putting in more time also and considered the AM/PM during the week and much longer hours on the weekends. (Wednesdays will be my day off.)

I was sad to see Jerry go last night, but didn't he and his wife look great in the final update coverage?! How fantastic that he was able to take what he'd learned at the ranch over the 2 weeks, go home and change the direction of his life so dramatically! I was so very pleased for him and his family.

BUT... I didn't realize he was so young... only 63... I missed that during the first episode. Anyway... hit me hard because I DON'T want to be in such a bad way (as he was even after 2 weeks - had such a hard time up & down the stairs!) when I'm just 63. Heck... that's less then 20 years away for me! Thank goodness for this WOE!

Last thing I wanted to say... I wish that today was weigh-in day 'cause I would have made my week one goal PLUS another pound... 5 pounds lost in the last week + one day. I'm not complaining... that's 2 pounds closer to my week 2 goal of 3lbs lost Ha!!

I agree! Seeing the 'after' of Jerry was great! I'm so happy he was able to keep it going after the show! He did great! and he looked so much healthier and younger afterwards!

Boy that was hard seeing so many small numbers too! and on that show, that's really saying something! We all better step it up huh? So easy to slip into a coma in front of the tv instead of moving!

I was also down today another 1.2 lbs! I wish our weigh in was today too!

                I can't wait for next week's show!

I lost 1 lb. This week's goal 2 lbs. I'm a little upset with myself and will keep at it. Well, you ladies (& gents) keep up with the good work.

I know Jerry will lose some more weight at the end. He has a lot of support from family, friends and and his newly extended family from the show. He's very positive and happy with himself, so that's a very good outlook for his future.

I know you ladies (& gents) can do it, so can I. For me, it's not really a competition, it's being able to do the things I wasn't able to do without you and your encouragement. WE CAN DO IT! I'm slowly getting rid of my "couch potato" mindset and overcome any obstacles including the health conditions I've carried for so many years. I have hopes like Jerry to get rid of them and be healthy for life and live life to the fullest. Keep going like the "energizing" rabbit! Going, going, going! Ha ha ha ha!
                  THANK YOU

No doubt. And thank God for those older and very sick folks who allow us to see their health turn around on this show. Jerry and Shellay from last season and now this older couple are allowing me no excuses.

I'm only 52 and have a terrible time with stairs like Jerry, and it totally sucks. I keep wondering if my age is being a wall I won't be able to push through. Well, their examples say no. It may be slow but it can happen.

That's such a great additude! Isn't it great to live in an age where we we have access to web sites and tv show etc... to give us all hope so that we all know that what ever age or degree of fitness we can all improve. It is totally doable, but only we can do it. it is such an internal battle against fatigue and our own natural desire to be comfortable and at ease. We have to force ourselves to overcome the forces of inertia! It's HARD WORK!

Today I thought I'd run a mile as fast as I could (on the treadmill), but about 2.5 minutes in I decided that maybe I'd be better off doing interval training. I had loud crazy music on so I danced around in between, walked a bit, did some aerobic exersize.... anyways, I did 6 sets of intervals and it was HARD!!!!! all in all about a half hour of overall exercise... with some sets of jumping thrown in too (muscle confusion) Then I went out and walked 3 miles on top of that. I also did my yoga dvd in the am... so I had good exercise day. BUT it was WORK!

Anyways, I think there might be something to doing intervals a few days a week at least. It is all about increasing your metabolism and sweating and making your heart work hard.

I'm actually watching the show again right now with my dh. It's so good!

After re reading my post, I just want to add that after running for 2.5 minutes, I decided to do the interval training instead because I thought I was going to die.
ha! but I did have Bob in my head screaming at me... which was why i kept moving and did more. It was a surprisingly very good workout.

Holy Guacamole, Lady! Didn't you just have brain surgery last year?? My lord...

You aren't kidding about the technology. Thanks to technology, I found Jillian's talkshow online and downloaded her archives and listen to her on Sunday mornings. It's because of her knowledge and experience that I'm finally getting better myself. The lady is simply brilliant! You just can't beat the internet for spreading good (and unfortunately, bad) information.

You guys are doing awesome!! Getting myself in the mood to exercise is tough, do you guys have the same prob? I sit here and think of excuses to not do it. Then I think of having to report that I did not exercise, I feel guilty! I guess that is a start? Anyway, you guys are really helping me feel accountable to myself! I do not lose weight easily, it is going to take some exercise. I agree, intervals seem to work really well. I am going to try that with my treadmill and hop off and do jumping jacks or something. We'll see tomorrow.

Hope you guys have a great day tomorrow!!
