Wow, "Keep your eating clean and your workouts dirty." I love that! I still like HTFU for when you feel like your arms are going to break off.

Robin aka MissingThoseMuffins here. I've been thinking about changing my username lately, because.. well, I'm really not missing muffins anymore! And I wanted a more positive name that encourages me to push myself. I didn't expect this username to be available and I had to use it when I saw that it was.

MissingThoseMuffins is now.. TheGunShow! Better get your tickets early.

Haven't worked out yet today but here is the goals sheet with my handle updated:

                • Re: All Guns Blazing - Photo Challenge

I am going to start a free weights routine designed by Krista at stumptuous.com, a strength training site for women. It recommends 3 workouts per week, but I really love lifting weights every day, so I suppose I will do lighter stuff on the rest of the time and also focus more on cardio. I know that reducing my body fat will show more muscle and there is always more room for cardio. My daily goal is 3 miles on a treadmill or elliptical but I think I will up it to 5 miles if I am only going to be doing strength training 3 or 4 times per week.

Anyway, here is the routine. Alternate Day 1 and Day 2, skipping one day in between.
                  Day 1
                  1. Deadlift 2 x 15
                  2. Seated cable row 2 x 12-15
                  3. Incline dumbell bench press 2 x 12-15
                  4. Calf raise 1 x 15
                  5. Ab crunch 2 x 12-15
                  Day 2
                  1. Leg Press 2 x 15-20
                  2. Standing overhead shoulder press 2 x 12-15
                  3. Lat pulldown 2 x 12-15
                  4. Calf raise 1 x 15
                  5. Back Extension 2 x 12-15

Here is a template I made just now if you want to check it out. My short-term goal for all of these is 125lbs, my current body weight.

I am also going along with a friend today to some kind of core strength step class at a fancy $200/month gym he goes to through his job. I hear they have a liquor bar there and personal masseuses, ha. I think my gym (LA Fitness) is pretty great and it is only $35/month, so I'm anxious to see what a gym does with $165 extra bucks a month per member.

Week 3 will start tomorrow!!!!! If anyone is starting to see or feel an improvement, please post it. Share your experiences with the whole class!

As for me... I am seeing some size and some definition! My shoulders are really coming along. I am very excited for a couple more weeks.

I am thinking I would like to run Guns Blazing 2 to keep up the process for everyone to look super fantastic for summer! Would there be any interest? Maybe some suggestions for exercises that we could add? I would however like to keep this to exercises that can be done with free weights at home. That way there wouldn't be any exclusions!

I am absolutely interested in Guns Blazing 2!

I also like the inclusion of home weights. I prefer working out at the gym with fewer sets of heavier weights because it really gets me pumped, but a few days so far that I wasn't able to make it to the gym I did the exercises listed in this thread. I also sometimes do the exercises listed here after I get home from the gym if I don't feel like I worked myself as hard as I could have.

I can totally feel the difference, especially in my arms and back. I have also been working out my abs and lower body. I feel a huge boost in confidence. There was a girl not much older than myself (21) at that luxury gym I was talking about yesterday who has given me new inspiration. She was lifting in the free weights section and was absolutely incredible. She was in PERFECT shape, totally chiseled but not bulky, and was lifting weights that I can't even pick up. She was completing 20-30 reps of exercises like the ones here with 45 pounds in each hand. 45 pounds! In each hand! I can hardly do that with 10 pounds. It was completely inspiring to see that kind of strength and power in such a beautifully sculpted body. Not only was she using such heavy weights for her size, she was lifting intensely for the entire 90 minutes I was at the gym. There is no way she wasn't sore and tired, but she was working through it anyway. I wish I would have told her how amazing she was and asked for some tips, but I was pretty intimidated and didn't want to interrupt. But to be like her is my new goal, and it is something I am hellbent on achieving. I have been totally pumped since I saw her and will keep that imagine in my head to help me to lift heavier!
