    Wednesday Exercise and this am.

    Last night played 2 + hours of tennis and gym for 40 minutes.
    This AM walked for 3 miles.

    NEW TOTALS: RUN -----> 14

            Very tiring day indeed! I heard it was going to rain here so I got up super early for my exercise ( I LOVE being outdoors vs the treadmill, etc.). I did over 7 miles of walking but let me tell you...it was grueling!!!! It was a new walking area for me and FULL of hills and such. This combined with 80ish degrees ...I was sooooo pooped but then had to work...ROFL! Anyway, this evening played over 2 hours doubles tennis....tonight's game was very intense. I've noticed my tennis buddies all getting more competitive...LOL!!! I am rubbing off on them I think!!! :twisted: :P

                          running while doing Atkins

                          Hi I'm new here.

                          I've been reading this post on running while doing Atkins. I have been running for about 5 years & I have completed 3 Marathons & I am training for my 4th this September.

                          I would like to lose some weight & I have done Atkins before & lost weight successfully, but my running really suffered! I had absolutely no energy to sustain me after about 4 miles.

                          Any suggestions?

                            Will iam starting to get back on Running and exersicing. i have been off mosty. for 3 weeks Monday when my Mom and i had a very bad bike wreck. i ran into her. thought she was dead. she was in Icu for 2 days. with head injurie. but is doing better. she is 75.
                            But i have to get back into wt. training and walking Running and abs. and stay with it.
                            So nite before last i went out for 1 mile run none stop.
                            so tonite will do the same.
                            before this happen i was traing on tredmil and dod coup times 2 miles none sto and once run out side.
                            so now since i have not been traing just went out and did a mile. tonite will do again. i guesse i should run evey other day.
                            how many daus a week should i do. then i will work up in couple weeks to do 2 miles.
                            but am doing/ it helps to burn fat and tone .
                            the best key is exersicing.
                            i have 35 lbs to go for gaol wt. of 100lbs. hope to have gaol by end Oct. but am doing.
                            i have lost close to 20 inches. but only 30lbs in 5 months. this is my 6th month doing atkins aug1st. just wanted you to know am trying and iam back into trying to be a runner. i might make it yet. 1 mile pretty good. time will pick up i was told as i run. just get from a-b for now.

                              Hey Tom great idea. I just started Atkins 4 days ago and running/walking 2 miles every day. Also , I just stumbled onto this website I think its great! Never knew there was an Atkins support group. Anyway sign me up!

                                I have a question for any of you runners... I am new to Atkins (started on 10/2) and just finished my 2 weeks of induction on Wednesday. However, I only lost 3lbs in those two weeks (from 128 to 125). I decided to stay on induction for 1 more week. My question is this: I am running in a 5 mile race in Central Park NYC next Sunday.... should I increase my carbs for the race the day before or should I stay this low? I just don't want to be wiped out and dragging my feet. I am a runner now and am having difficult time with my energy level since I started Atkins. And you know when you race you always push harder.
