Hey Barb, you can do it! Just get up there and start, after the warm up you'll feel great and wanting to go on, lol, (please don't hit me

Ok I just finished Burn it UP and I noticed that it is much harder the second day then the first. I couldn't do all of the lunges, or all of the @sscrampers, the rest I was able to keep up pretty good. I just took short breaks and jumped back in. But I felt great yesterday and I know after taking my shower I felt great today, It's gonna be a fantastic day, I can feel it.

You know what, I noticed that the ab work is a lot less challenging on BiU then RiU. At least the floor ab work, maybe it's because we do a lot more waist work on BiU and she is counting it. Whatever the reason it is hard for me to get into my ab during those standing oblique crunches. I think from now on when I do BiU in the morning I'll try to fit in Slim &6 pack at night. That way I'm sure to be working my abs and I don't have to feel super guilty about not "feeling the burn" during standing obliques. Anyone else experience this?

YOLY!! COME HERE AND LET ME HIT YOU!!
I hope you are happy! I Burned It Up. OMG.
Well, no vertigo this time so that's a good thing! LOL.
I agree the ab work is way less. Kind of disappointing. But the LUNGES about killed me. The asscrampers I did way better on the left side than the right for some reason. And my ARMS are like rubber now, thank you very much!
So, like, we are stuck doing burn it up for the rest of the 6 weeks??
Off to hit the shower and get my sore *** to work!
      Thanks Yoly!!

Hey there pjtmay!!! It's good to see you poking your head in here

The difference between the shorter and longer versions of Start It Up is in how old the videos are. The original Slim In Six set's Start It Up was 56 minutes long. About a year and a half ago or so they cut that down to 25-ish minutes and encouraged their Si6ers to hit Ramp It Up sooner.

I'm about to go BIU. I'm sitting here waiting for my protein shake to settle a bit before I start. I'm feelin' pretty stuffy, but I'm not about to let that slow me down. It'll be interesting to see if I blow my poor heart moniter up this morning. LOL

Yoly, I find that if I crunch down during standing obliques like she says to the same thing happens to me that happens to you. What works for me is for me to lead the move with my shoulder and not my elbow. I'm also very careful to make sure that I'm aiming my shoulder to the outside of my opposite hip. Just to the hip isn't enough - and I can see big differences in my waist as a result, to boot!

She does count all the standing ab work as part of the overall ab set for the workout. I'll probably give myself a week to get used to @#$)@#*$)@#$*( BIU again and then I'll likely add 6pack in as well.

        I am nuts.
Yoly- I'm probably not going to like you much in about an hour. LOL!!!

Oh, as to has anyone done BIU regularly? Yep. I have. It's tough- ugly tough- but the results are amazing and it's for a relatively short period of time. WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Hello everybody! I missed you all so much. Geez, I was only gone for a few days and you all added like 4 pages!!! It is so wonderful to see all of you newcomers who want to join us as we inflict pain upon ourselves.

I was so happy that yesterday was my rest day! I thoroughly enjoyed NOT seeing Debbie's dimples.

My BIU still hasn't gotten here. As crazy as it sounds, I can't wait to try that. RIU is starting to get easy??? Did I just say that??? I guess I should say easier. I have this thing memorized now, I know what she is going to say verbatim before she says it. I no longer look at the time ticking down, because I know what is coming up next. The workout seems to be going faster.

My massage, I went there right after completing RIU (I showered first ) I was in heaven when she was massaging my shoulder, they are so sore. I was surprised when she was massaging my thighs, how sore they were! I don't mind them when I am walking around, etc., but when she was massaging those muscles, oyy, that was wonderful.

Hey FG! I'm so jealous of your massage, although I have to say that my dh has been dabomb when it comes to that. I know I'd be stuck in one pose if it weren't for him babying me. LOL

              BIU is done.

              Yoly- I hate you.

Okay, I don't hate you.....but I thought about not liking you a couple of different times over the last hour. LOL

              1st section: cool
2nd section: Ugh. Had to take the side crunches slower and I HATE those side knee pull things.
3rd section: Yeah. RIGHT! Like I could knock out all those lunges! LOLOL NOT! I hung in there for all the reverse lunges, but I didn't do the knee lifts. Stationary lunges are hellish. I hung in for all but the last 8 of those suckers on each leg. I managed to hang in for all the forward lunges, but I was cussing the WHOLE time.
4th section: Oyyy. Was really winded. Had to take some of the side crunches and stuff at half time, but I got through them. Same for the side knee pull things- did them at about half time. Oh, and I HATE plie/calf raises. I don't mind the plies, but I've got huge calves and all I can do is envision my calves looking like the Incredible Hulks when I do those things. Plie/side steps - yeah. Ouch.
5th section: Ahhhhh woohoo! Resistance bands. Did great except I'm going to have to switch to dumbbells for the shoulder presses. My band is too tight and it pinches me when I try to do the overhead press.
6 & 7- We don't call them asscrampers for nothin'. Oyyyyyyyyy!!! I got through the first 3 exercises, although that 3rd is a KILLER. My whole butt cheek seized up so hard I thought I was going to do. When it came time to do the 4th exercise I just did a few of them, rested, did a few more, rested, cussed, got winded cussing so I rested, then knocked out the last 12-16 fast reps. The other side was essentially the same thing.

I couldn't knock out all the pushups - I was so pooped! They get better pretty fast though, so no worries there.

Ab work - all went well. I don't usually do the double crunches because I have such a hard time keeping my lower back on the floor, so instead I do them as reverse crunches to get some solid, concentrated lower ab work done.

Ahhhhhhhhh. Stretch and Yoga. Life is good.

I have to take Roo to the doctor this morning. I'll be back later!

ROFLMAO You got winded from cussing and had to take a break!!! LOL Still ROFLMAO.

I guess I won't be laughing when my BIU finally gets here and I attempt that.

Yes, life IS good when you get to the stretch and yoga section.

Everytime we do the "double crunch" and she says "double crunch" I think of food!!! Am I food obsessed or what? Double Crunch sounds like it should be a candy bar or an ice cream flavor.

But remember Brook, "if it burns that means it's working"

ROTFLMAO, sorry, I just had to.

or how about, "I know it's cramping and burning, just try to breath through the burn" LOL, I totally cuss her out on that one.

Great job getting it in, it is not fun, at all. But it definatly works, I feel like one big giant muscle walking around campus today. I'm strutting in my new jeans and my high school top, woohoo, thank you Debbie!

Hey Barbde, you're not the oldest vidiot here, I am, and I beat you by a country mile, you youngster you! I'm 52, and if I can do it, anyone can! Just complete 1/3 of the 6 week program, workout #12/36, RIU!

FG, you just gave me an idea about a "Massage". My step-children asked dh what to get me for a Christmas gift, and I will suggest a "Massage" to him. Something that I rarely treat myself with, but something that I definately DO enjoy, and appreciate!

Is that on BIU? If my BIU EVER gets here (whining) I'll check her out.

I think Debbie needs to make a video with us vidiots doing the workout with her! She would have to do some sensoring, though as we are "talking back" to her. I could be the female version of Greg -- the dorky one. LOL

Yep. It's in BIU. It was funny...I actually got kinda torqued at her and then it dawned on me that I was wasting valuable energy being salty. LOL!
