Congrats jimmie on another peak peaked!! Yes, it always does good... alot (having stair climbing done)! And yes, everything gets easier as I go along. Would up the time or intensity, but these days the heat is balancing out the effort! Come the cooler weather though...

great job jimmie jo. so you and sally finished the tower and I missed it dang.

did my hiit today and pushups. got a new treadmill . it is used but has the lapper to plot your way around a quater mile track which will be easier for my HIITing to calculate while Mother distracts me.

So how is the rest of the gang going. is anybody having issues with the heat and sore muslces?

We definately have heat issues here, next 3 days are supposed to be bad...I've been trying run down at the boardwalk by the lake where it's a bit cooler, and the dog can go for a swim. So rather than a full 30 mins run, i run 13 mins to the off leash dog beach, throw the ball in the lake for 15 mins and let him swim, then run the 13 mins back to the car. It's at least a couple of miles anyway...Not sure if i lose any benefit by stopping half way through...but i figure this is better than not running at all due to the heat.

Haven't been going to the gym much due to vacation, trying to remember to do my pilates since i'm not...i've been so busy with work it's hard to not get sidetracked.

oh sadie i think that is an okay and wise thing to do. i am trying to get some things in but i am not pushing it to the point of heat exhaustion. (which i will be posting an article on in the health chat. seems appropriate)

2big, how the heck did you miss both us hitting the top? lol myjack is getting very close to the top of that one now. you can whoo hoo him. lol

denise? where's denise? and where did our pakistan sadie go? she hasn't been in journals either.

i did 55 flights today. started with 10 and numerically worked my way down to 1. too stinking hot to do much else. i think i have to burning off calories just sitting here sweating all day!

Thanks for missing me Jimmie. We were out of town for the weekend. I officially exercised once in the hotel's really nice fitness center, walked a mile on the treadmill and did some arms/shoulder work. Wrestled with Benji for 2-3 hours every afternoon. We were at a convention of 5000+ people and of course he wanted to be down and checking everything out. Until he WAS down, then he wanted up. I'm spiritually charged and physically exhausted. Oh, and also walked a ton, played in the pool w/the kids and didn't sleep. Worked arms tonight and am going to wash bottles and go to bed. Hopefully Benji remembers that he CAN go to sleep now that he's back in his bed.

Good to see you all, I'll try to catch up tomorrow

              Hugs

DEFINITELY having heat issues here 2big! Up in the hundreds and humid. Ugh! Am off to the mountains tomorrow morning...back Mondayish... will be wonderful to be up there where the air molecules are sparser!! Can't wait to stop dripping!
Will probably take the laptop, so might log on if the connection's any good up there. If not... see y'all next week.

Welcome back Denise... sounds like you had an energetic time! Hope it was a good time too.

Don't see why you should lose benefit by splitting your run into two parts. On the contrary...shouldn't it be better from a metabolism revving point of view? Might be wrong on that though...

Looking forward to reading your heat exhaustion article Jimmie. Certainly appropriate these days. Seems everyone's getting a blast.

wow sally the heat's even made it's way there too? I'm actually going to attempt a run at the beach today, though today they say it feels like 47 (or 118f) with the humidity. Usually it's a bit cooler by the lake...My dog just doesn't seem to understand it's too hot to go out for a walk , he's getting restless so i have to take him somewhere!

Today I'll be splittng up my run (you mght be right about the benefit to that sally), and most likely walking part of it if it's too much.

                        Hey guys.

No workout yesterday, today did 20 minute WATP and am off to do 8 min legs/buns.

Still beat, mentally too. It was a great weekend, just involved a lot of energies.

Hope all are well and getting aquick break from the heat.

                        Hugs

hey denise. and other hot bodies

i missed 2ibgs pres. challenge update today. also have missed a bunch of posts.

i did decide not to do the slim in 6 stuff till the heat breaks. the fan blowing on me is not enough and i work up too much sweat. don't want to pass out. i did do biking, crunches and pushups today. almost the same as yesterday. tomorrow is planting day. i got a ton of hostas to get in the ground before rain hits tomorrow afternoon.

now, i'll scroll back and see if i missed 2big announcing she wouldn't be here.

OK, you know the worl is messed up when you say "Oh, it's so cool out here" and the thing still says 88. And THEN, you fill up your gas tank at 2.96/gallon and are HAPPY about it (when the rest of the stations you drive by all say 3.20).

Exercise tonight included lugging Benji in the front carrier for an hour at an outdoor concert and grocery shopping. Going now to 8-min buns/legs.

                            Hugs to all.

Hi Ladies, had a bit of a slacking week. Only managed one run, and it was only 15 mins. My dog has a cut on one of his feet so he's not too thrilled about long runs, and it's just been too hot. Going to run again today, hopefully for my 30 mins. The heatwave is gone and it's back into comfortable's 80's.

I'm on vacation all week next week so not sure if i will hvae time to check in. I wll be going up to the cottage and will be running up there. It's a verry hilly road up there and a great challenge.

My flights have pretty much been at a standstill as I haven't been to the gym. I will be going back when get back from vactaion however. I'm so close to the top of that mountain!

i have been watching your stairclimging numbers, sadiejen. you are pretty close! have fun at the cabin.
our heat is gone too. slept without the window unit last night and after the heat of several days, it almost seemed chilly.

denise, i ain't gonna be happy about the gas, that's for sure. i was shocked to see the price at $3.16 yesterday. it was $2.98 last week when i stopped to get $10 worth.
