Couldn't ever wear it out... unless I fall off the wagon that is!
Now I reckon I deserve a new dress! Hooray for Atkins!
i love that story! my bathing suit saga is the same. can't wear it cause of my big fat self and when i lose the weight, it's too dad gummed big! lol

yeah you need a new dress even if you don't wear them too often. if you're like me, i could just be happy in jeans all the time. i even started wearing them to church at this new place so they could get used to seeing me in them. they might as well know the true jimmie if they want me hanging around the place!

I've tried everything, induction, south beach, upping my exercise, etc. I just can't figure it out. I'm trying to take some food groups out, but since i'd already done owl I don't think that's my problem. I'm not counting calories again..and keeping my carbs around 30g's. though with my running i shouldn't need too. Last week I let my carbs get fairly high, with whole grains and yogurt and fruits, hoping that maybe this will help before dropping my carbs again.

I'm basically eating what I did when i got to goal...and i'm actually running a bit more than i was then...so i'm really not sure. maybe my body just wants to be here..I don't know, i'm depressed if it is. I'm hardly skinny..and my bf% is still up around 25 - 28% (that's what my scale says...it's in line with a caliper test).

I seem to be stuck in a rut...and it's frustrating
i see you changed the siggy. now i ain't quite as confused as before. lol

sadie, i think you might be onto something, thinking your body is happy with
    130. you are 4 inches taller than me. i think that's the case, and we had the same goal weight. i know body types and muscle stuff, yadda yadda, but still you are 4 inches taller. maybe the goal weight should have been 130 all along.
you have tried everything and there you sit with the 10 pounds looming over you. are your clothes fitting fine? if so, i would try not to worry. i know that's hard because i've been over the goal weight right there with you. my problem was that my clothes were fitting more snug so i knew i had to get things under control.

Sally, neat story about the dress. I have a top that I have a pic of me in 15 years ago. Why in heavens name do I still have that top??? No idea. Yeah, it fits, but I never REALLY liked it Glad you are feeling better.

Sadie, good to see you...and sorry you are frustrated. I think the bf % is much more important than the dang scale (though you wouldn't know it from my recent posts lol). Good for you for wanting to work on that. I have no advice, but do hope you feel some successes soon.

Hey Jimmie, thanks for stopping in and letting us kknow how your day was. I always look forward to your posts!

My exercise yesterday was my lunge/pop/squats at work and 1 hour of trying to bounce a one year old to sleep. Honestly. Guess which was harder? He's so FUNNY, he totally goes to sleep on his own at home. Well, last night we had a late meeting, and he was clearly exhausted, so I tried to PUT him to sleep. He just laughed at me. Like, what are you doing mom? So silly. But even so, I kept trying, and had to hold him standing up even when NOT trying to put him to sleep...and my ?shoulder? ?collarbone? I can't really describe what muscle that is, like across my upper chest, is super sore today. Who knew?

And today will be the lunge/squat/pop and hopefully cardio this pm. I can tell I'm missing my workouts, that physicall tension release is really important in my mood.

      TT you all soon

Jimmie... I'm sooo with you on the 'jeans all the time' thing. I feel peculiar in dresses now!

Sadie; I think Jimmie's got a point. Maybe that's just your 'right' weight. See if you stabilise there, eating as usual. I know that I went a couple of pounds lower than I am now at first. Then, I seemed to drift up again when I wasn't eating differently and was doing more exercise. I think the loss sees a certain swing thing...swinging back a bit, I mean, after reaching our all time low. It's a **** nuisance, I know, and can be worrying, but it does seem to work like that for many.

sadie have you had your body fat % measured? you can be with asll the new to you exercise be adding lean body tissu which adds scale pounds even though you are actually smaller. I know i added 7 pounds worth in one 6 month period and finally had to declare goal weight even though the BMI and height weight charts said I was over weight. with 142 pounds of lean body mass at 168 I was underweight fat % wise for a healthy athletic lady. Check yours and see where you are.

did my HIITing today and boy was it hard.

That's why I love this board..you guys are so supportive and make me feel so much better!

I actually did hold around 120-125 for about 6 months, then gained at the end of last summer and now hover around 130. Unfortunately my clothes are fitting much tighter, i do have 2 pairs of jeans i can no longer wear..last week i tried a pair of shorts on and couldn't do them up..so i've really got to work at this. I'm sure the running is going to help..it just doesn't seem to be this time around..it's been a couple of months since i upped my runs to 2-3 miles with no change. I haven't weighed myself in quite some time but i feel no change. I'd even be happy at this weight if i could lose the inches.

I measured today and i'm up 2" on my hips 1.5 on my waist and 2 on my chest. My goal is to lose that...

2big I've only been measured with the calipers, and a bf scale that i have. I'm not too concerned if it's exactly accurate just yet..I'm going to work onthe inches first..then i'll see if there's anywhere around here I can get it done professionally. Though i'm not sure what that would cost up here... RIght now i used my bf scale as just a guage to see if it's going up.

I'm going to keep plugging away at the pilates/ball and running..hopefully this will help. I'm not ready to give up yet!

that's why they call it lifetime maintenance i suppose. took me nearly 7 months to take off the extra 5 pounds i was carrying around. just started working a little bit harder and to be truthful, i was over eating. same stuff as always but i had to really sit and think about what i was shoveling in. cut back just a wee bit, was still satisfied and i think the combination did the trick. very slow loss but a loss none the less.

i did accomplish 9 miles on the bike this afternoon. yippee!

ms. i was looking at you weekend project pics, the larger views. i just had to giggle. jacks weekend wood project consisted of cutting one 2 x 4 and fashioning a handrail at the back steps. not near what you accomplished!

you might want to check it out and comment if you want. as you talked a bit about your pain i got to wondering how many others on the board are dealing with sciatica. i had to actually go look it up to see exactly what you were talking about, sal.

of course, 2big, you are welcome to look in on the thread. i am sure there is a sciatica file in your brain somewhere just waiting to leak all over the page. lol

Isn't it funny how we hang onto things when we put on weight, as a sort of 'fat guage'... and it's so depressing when we put weight on and on and on...but sooooo very nice after reaching goal on Atkins and finding that they fit again... or are too big!

Don't know what the weekend will bring. We are driving 5 hours to take care of my disabled MIL for the weekend. She is in a wheelchair and totally paralyzed on the right side. She has aphasia (sp?) which means she may or may not be processing what she hears, but she definitely can't communicate back out. My SIL is the primary care giver and she is taking her family away for the weekend, and we're up. I'm happy to do it, for both their sakes, but it IS a big undertaking with her requirements and my two little ones and the drive down. I'll be in touch

                      Hugs

Very weird. I got a good night's sleep too. Neither kid was crazy about GOING to bed in strange place, but both slept all night. That hasn't happened but a handful of times. And DH had his laptop but I was bored so went to bed early. I actually slept 7 hours!

MIL is the same. It's SO sad. I love her and "miss" her so much. It's so sad to know she's at least partly there, and has SUCH a hard time communicating. She gets so frustrated, and who can blame her? It must be maddening!

And I have to vent a touch about my SIL and this house too. There was literally NO floor space in living area (that is also the 5 year olds toy area). None. I am here to take care of mom WITH MY ONE YEAR OLD. and there are toys and food and craft pieces everywhere. And it's clear they just live like this, because it's always the same, it was just much worse for me this time because Benji's walking and stuff. UGH.

And a bit of a vent about the kitchen. My MIL is diabetic and at least 200 lbs on a handicapped, 5'4" frame. My SIL is probably 200 lbs on a 5' frame and has gestational diabetes with 2 of her 3 kids. My BIL is well over 350 lbs on a 6'5" frame. The kids are on special plans with a nutritionist because of their cholesterol levels. They are 12 and 13 and very active and very chunky.

This kitchen is baked chips, low fat cheese and lunch meat, canned peas and carrots, hamburger helper, chef boyrdee, bananas, yogurt, 15 different cereals (rice krispes, but the rest are frosted or totally sugared), whole grain breads, fruit snacks, "whole wheat" crackers, 1% milk. It's like she's trying, kind of, but I can't really tell what??? Not a single vegetable in fridge or freezer. And if she would just LISTEN about getting sugar and flour out, she would lose all her "convenience" options she thinks she needs because their life is so crazy.

Oh well. I can't convert everybody. At least I left my Splenda here last time, and the sugary junk has no appeal for me. The fresh scones at the farmers market may, we'll see. And DH bought me a bag of frozen broccoli, some cream and brats to grill tonight. Yum. We'll make it. It's just SO frustrating to know so clearly what could make a REAL difference and have her blow me off. And not even for nutrition objections (which are not valid anyway) but for these junky absolutely empty convenience options.

Thanks for listening. Back on late tonight maybe
