Jimmie!!! Are you really planning on Everest next? Goodness! If it takes you aeons, I wonder how long it'll take me???? Probably around ten years!

Sadie... cool info about the CN Tower. You really must sign up for the stair climb challenge, especially as your dad was a Senior Engineer on it! Way cool!

Took a day off exercise yesterday 'cos had a horrid early start. Given the choice between sacrificing exercise or dog walk... well, the doggies pleading eyes made the choice for me!
    Back to full routine today.
    Before and after:

    PLEDGING FLIGHTS
Completed: 1st set of buildings and mountains (Everest,M.Blanc & Kilimanjaro, twice); Tower Masts & Chimneys; More virtual buildings; Challenger's Choice x 2 (volcanos and mountains on Mars). Currently climbing: Mount Snowdon again: 416/475

i am taking the day off frome everything. the benedryl did a job to me.

You guys are doing great on your steps...I think. THanks for updating us anyway

Lunge/Squat/Pop today. And yesterday. No cardio or running, last night was a terrible headache and tonight a girls night. Tomorrow is a work function, but early, I may get to Leslie by 10 or so.

        Hugs to you all.

not sure Jimmie about the weight loss through actual sweat as you should be replenishing it but the fact that you are overheated burns more cals as your body works to cool you off and our hearts beat faster to pump more blood to the skin to cool it as the energy lost in the evaporation of the sweat cools the skin and thus the blood there.

It was 106 yesterday in the store parking lot and boy did it feel like it. I slept in this morning and missed my gym time. I had my repite care person get Mother breakfast and play with her and went back to bed. I got to say it was lovely but better not become habit forming!

Climbing the tower for charity sounds like fun Sadie.

              edit
did 25 minutes on the bike this afternoon. i am thinking this sweating and heat are doing this rash no good at all. it has spread even further. i will probably be going to the doctor tomorrow. it heat and sweat are having adverse affects i'll not be doing anything until this is gone.

2big, just to let you know, i clicked on you goalie graphic to get here! also, the reading thread got moved to Most Memorable Posts Forum. thanks again for being a part of that!

                i was correct:
sweating, heat from any source did me no good at all. i went to the doctor this morning and got a shot. i was told to stay away from any heat source as best i could till this rash goes away. maybe i can do some stretching? i just can't work to the point of my body being hot. i have the box fan pointed right at me this very moment.

good news is that they took my b/p. i was a bit weirded out, i don't like going to doctors and i am sure that always contributes to a hight reading. today, even though i am holding fluid and itchy my numbers were still fine 118/74. i'll take that!

they didn't weigh me! i was shocked about that. she just asked what i weighed and i told her what the scale said this morning. i know a couple pounds of this is fluid.

i won't be doing much for the next couple of days.

hey Jimmie when I had my last allergic reaction to soy incident and would break out in a rash every time I got hot and sweaty for months afterwards the doc told me the minute I started to feel itchy I should take a cold shower as that would slow down the histimineprotein complex reaction. I never took so many showers in my life, but it worked great.

oh and I worked out today in on the treadmill after, Jimmie you better sit down, skipping yesterday to sleep in. The repite care person arrived and I went back to bed! I was sort of shocked later that I did that but if felt so good. However I need to block that good feeling out and replace it with bad feelings for skipping like we tell the sick cheating newbies to remember how bad they felt so they will never do it again. LOL

                      lol 2ibg!!!
the difference between you and a newbie is light years, 2ibg! see, you might feel okay doing it once but the second time you feel guilty and there would be no third time. a newbie would think what the heck, i messed up one day, two won't hurt and by day three they are in a slump, with no willpower.

doctors orders were nothing warm but cold compresses. i allowed myself to sit in a cold tub. that did help. i think i should just run the tub in the morning and when i get an itchy feeling, step in the tub. this is all new territory for me. i've never had anything like this.

would break out in a rash every time I got hot and sweaty for months afterwards
does that mean i am still going to be breaking out with this even months from now!??? every time i exercise or get sweaty???? i ain't liking the sound of that!!!

I have a question for you guys.
                        (sorry for butting in, but.............)
What have you found to replace that "goal"?? Being "goal" oriented, I am wondering how to just say "OK, I'm size 10. I'm good" and THEN what? I understand the whole "goal is maintaining" concept, but I am wondering if that will be good enough for me? I mean, this has been a major focus for coming up on 2 years!! I guess I am asking if you found someplace else to put your focus? I feel a life change coming up and it's kinda scarey! Waaah!
Sorry. I'll now return you to your regularly scheduled chat!

Barb that is a great question. I know many goalie missed the excitement of moving the mountain so to speak and ask that same question what do I do now that I have arrived.
If you look at it as just maintaning your weight loss then you are dealing in a negative manner all the time so you need to focuus on something else like Betty does with her running accomplishmnets. for me I enjoy adding more plates at the gym and stuff like that so that is my focus now.

You will find ADBB will change for you too, cause gone are the I lost post celebrations. You see very few yipppeeeeee I maintained today posts here. lots of goalies arrive at goal and leave thanking ADBB for all our help getting them there. a few return to STAC with regains and many are never heard from again. So don't run off cause you are a goalie.

Jimmie what is the cause of your rash is it contact dermititis where you got something you are allergic to on your skin? is it a euticaria break out from allergic reation to a consumed substance? or is it that nasty heat fugus rash on the sweaty skin? that will determine how long it lasts. mine was from an allergic reaction to consumed soy compounds in food and meds. tasking antihistimes helped too.

Hey girls. And a happy Friday to all

Jimmie, so sorry you are so uncomfortable!!! Have you determined the cause of the rash, beyond the additional irritation brought on by the heat? If you can get to the root, it certainly won't keep coming back w/ heat or exertion, but if that hasn't been determined? Ugh. Take it easy.

2big you shame me. You actually NEVER skip your workouts? Ever? Even with the load you carry. You are amazing. But you seem balanced too. Not so much on this board, but on some other LC or diet/health message boards, there is just as much reining in borderline eating disorder/compulsions as there is encouragement. And my own family thinks I'm "obsessed" with health adn fitness. "really, Denise, it's OK, you don't have to watch EVERY morsel EVERY day." And maybe I do, maybe I don't, not the point. You seem to have struck the balance nicely.

Hi to others., and hope all is well.

Coming back to you Barbde, want to give your question a closer look.

                              Hugs

                                Barbde:

Never have been "goal oriented" about that final number. Am not there yet either, so may not be the advice you are looking for. But, I believe the best goals are the ones you actually can DO something about: 100 oz water, 25 pushups/day, lunges every day for a month, new recipe every week (OK, for you that would have to be whole new CUISINE every week LOL), etc. So, my "goal" has never really had my focus, it's always been about being healthy enough to keep up with my kids. So, my day to day challenges to myself are my new focus. Those are "enough" for me. Maybe I make a goal to bike to the park this week, and to the farther park the next.

I also find goals that aren't related, that kind of replace that focus you're talking about. I've devoted a good deal of time and energy to getting this fit. Maybe something else got a bit shortchanged? I have some goals like Bible reading, making time for hubby, talking nicer to the kids?

GL on your journey...because it really is. You get the rewarding part too
