  • Richt's running log for 2007

Much in the same way that Betty keeps track of hers, I have decided to start my own running / jogging record for 2007. I will post here all of my distances, be it training runs, races or "messing around on the treadmill".

My aim is to complete 10 half marathons this year.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

This year I have decided to join a running club. Mainly because I want to get better, but also members of running clubs get discounts on each race entry. Saving approx £2 a race. It only costs me £10 a year to join this specific club, so much savings are going to be made.

Last night was my first night with them, I ran 5 miles.

Total distance to date this year - 12 miles

Sunday 14th June. My first race of the year. 10 mile multi terrain, through much mud and up and down hills so steep that you literally had to crawl up. Fun none the less, did it in a really slow time of 2:18:52

Total distance to date this year - 22 miles

          12 miles training
          10 miles racing

Congrats on the difficult course. I like how you're keeping track of the training and racing miles separately.

Thanks Rich, it was an interesting course to say the least.

Tuesday 23rd Jan. I was planning on going out running with my running club, but the temperature is in the minus figures in England tonight so I thought it might just be a tad to cold for that.

Instead I went to the gym and ran 5 miles on the treadmill - in just over 47 minutes.

Total distance to date this year - 32 miles

                17 miles in training
                5 miles in the treadmill
                10 miles racing

Thanks Betty, but that was 2 minutes slower than my PB.

Re: Richt's running log for 2007

Friday evening I went to the gym with the sole intention of jumping on the treadmill and running just 1 mile, but in the fastest pace I could. I did in 7 minutes 9 seconds! How the heck do these Kenyans and Ethiopian marathon runners manage to run Marathons, averaging 4.5 minute miles!!!!????

Total distance to date this year - 33 miles

                        17 miles in training
                        6 miles in the treadmill
                        10 miles racing

After a 2 week lay off, due to holiday and then a forced break due to sickness I got back to the gym last night. Did 3 miles on the treadmill in a little over 27 minutes. It felt so good to get back into it again. My how I have missed it!

Total distance to date this year - 36 miles

Practicing for this weekends 10k road race, I did 10k on the treadmill last night. (Just over 6 miles, but I will round it down to 6).
